FFXI population got hit hard because of the issues RMT caused. Bots everywhere... gil sellers... account stealing. I don't want to see this game get ruined by these people but the exact same issues are popping up again.

Gil sellers, bots, hacks and account stealing. To be fair those that have their accounts stolen probably deserver it for trying to buy gil but still...

Stop in now before it gets out of hand.

Yeah RMT is absolutely out of control. It's sad that new players are going to log in for the first time and be completely spammed with RMT ads.

they move from one mining deposit to the next within an area without running, like teleporting instantly there

Well, they dont speed hack anymore. Now they just instant teleport to the new location they need to be...

Man I agree with this. So far,from what I've seen (On the Phoenix EU server) is that just about all 3 towns have a stupidly high amount of gil spammers and it is just awful.

I saw the teleporting in Eastern Thanalan this evening. They go on Stealth and just teleport between logging nodes. It's so annoying. I counted at least 15 of them running around the one area like they were all playing tag. Plus there are multiple RMTs shouting in Ul'dah with different websites, all at the same time. My text box was just cycling through constantly with no let up, I couldn't even read what my FC was saying!

They really need to be aggressive with this, especially with the account stealing going around. It's crucial they deal with this swiftly.

Sadly I place a lot of blame for this profusion of RMT squarely at the feet of F2P MMOs, where even in the better ones buying power translates to success in the game, which seems to have infected more and more P2P than it used to. Though it seems to me it may start tapering off as I was noticing that earlier they were spamming $20 for 100k, then $10, shortly after $6 and now it's $4. Looks like demand just isn't there.
