At all the uninformed people saying I "rushed to 50". I slowly leveled to 50, doing every single dungeon multiple times, every single hunting log, leveling up my cooking and fishing to be within 5 levels of my battle class, doing all the story, doing almost every side quest, crafting good gear, helping friends with story missions, and making sure I finished my cute looking sets from Brayflox(Battle mage) and acolytes(the first 3 dungeons).

I did not rush to 50, I enjoyed all the content in the game and never did fates besides random ones that popped up while I was doing hunting logs or quests. The only time I fate grinded was 47 - > 50 because there is ZERO quests and a 3 level gap in the story, I am forced to fate grind those levels.

I am currently leveling WHM and BLM to 50 as well, which I do hunting logs on, but the only reliable way to level level classes is to do nothing but spam fates in zergs all day, dungeons give 1/4 the exp of fate grinding and I have all the gear so I don't need any dungeon gear, I'm set on full greens/pinks until 50, and even full darklight on my WHM at 50 with full ilvl60 + ifrits weapon on my BLM.

None of this has anything to do with "There being no reason to leave a city at 50". You will eventually get 50, no matter how slow you level, and never have to leave town again. How does my experience of taking 2-3 weeks to hit 50 and not having a reason to leave town change if I somehow took 2 months to hit 50? There won't be a new content patch until 3-4 months, stated by Yoshi, and you willl all be in the same situation.

Let's not make baseless assumptions that someone "fate grinded to 50 and rushed to 50" and now they're complaining there's nothing to do - quite the contrary, there is TONS to do, I am having a blast at 50, still having infinite fun doing the ~5 level 50 dungeons, I've done them all 20+ times and still having so much fun playing and loving the game. but that doesn't change the fact I HAVE NO REASON TO LEAVE CITIES AT 50.

edit: Wow, I just read even more posts, please read my post and learn how to read before you respond to threads. Nowhere did I say "I have nothing to do", I said "I have no reason to leave cities". So many people "omg you have so much to do go to TITAN HARDMODE!(seriously? Go to a dungeon? that'll give me a reason to leave a city? a dungeon I can INSTANTLY PORT TO FROM A CITY? lol...). "Omg go gather and craft!". I leveled my crafting classes to 50 already, I don't have to leave a city. I already stated the only reason to leave a city is gathering, leveling crafting classes(Which I finished), and farming mobs, which I rarely have to do anymore, but I already said those are the only reasons to leave a city. If I don't need any mats, if my gathering profession is 50(fishing), and my crafts are 50, and I can instantly port to all end game content, I have no reason to leave a city.

Read threads before you respond to them, have an attention span above "reading thread title", thank you.

I agree with the OP 100% and I also laughed at some of the "brilliant" replies... for example:

I wish we had the open world dungeons (like Natalan for example with HARD mobs and coffers to farm) or NMs that we would have to actually look for (not have a cat size marker on the map to show where the FATE NM pops)

All I hope is that the next patches will specifically concentrate on open world content, somehow I doubt it though

I can't speak for anyone but myself on this (I know I'm not lvl 50 yet), but if when I do get to that point, I would either try to get some fate achievements (minions like Cancer one) or help others lvling up in my FC. Just me personally.

I don't get people like the OP, you rushed through the game and cry that there is nothing left outside of dungeons for you to do. Maybe you should have spent more time enjoying the ride instead of fate grinding to get 50 asap. Level a gathering skill, level a second class, gather and sell mats for money, do battlecraft leves for money, go back and complete the quests you skipped, work on getting some achievements, stop crying about not being able to level outside any more because you power rushed the game.

I highly doubt they developed this game with the belief that every player will enjoy every aspect. However, I think it's a safe assumption that they designed this game for the players who enjoy all/most of those things. The only thing that's silly is accusing players of being narrow minded because they actually like the content available in the game.

Of course you don't have to leave the cities. Why is this bad? You've completed, presumably, most of the content in the game, or at the very least the content you wanted to complete. Sure, they could add more open world content, but chances are you'll finish it quite a bit before more content is rolled out regardless. This is just how it goes - at a certain point, you can just chill in the cities until more content is released. I suppose they could put more annoyances into the game, require more farming or grinding, but this isn't exactly "quality" content.

How much content is enough content to release at launch? As stated previously, everybody progresses at a different rate.

As far as not having a reason to leave the city... well, have you completed all the Exploration achievements?

I understand where the OP is coming from. I just would have worded it differently.

I, too, would like a Tu'lia, or Al'Taeiu (done correctly, and without the possibility of RMT monopolization please!) and really really hope that one of these days something along those lines are added. Instance instance instance is just well... Repetitive. Instances are a *good* thing, when there is also open world content to balance them out. All about choice, and I don't see why having more choices would be a bad thing.

I'm not complaining about a lack of things to do, though, as I have a metric asston of things I still would like to achieve.

I find it to be the opposite. I'm only ever in town when I'm crafting, browsing the market, picking up class quests, or really just anything that can only be done in a city. Otherwise I'm out in the world doing what I still need to finish.. which is a lot! In between dungeons I'm either farming materials I need for crafting, or simply leveling up gathering/other classes.

You can choose to sit in a city if you want to, but there is PLENTY you can be otherwise doing that will have you outside. The choice is yours to make on if you do it or not.
