Yesterday I queued up for Wanderer's Keep for the first time and the tank/healer who queued together was nice enough to teach me when I showed enthusiasm on doing it despite it being the first time. Then I was able to be a lead runner for the others in the next run who hadn't done it before. It's all about paying it forward if you want "experienced" people really. Though that said I don't see how running 10 yards behind the tank and taking a right when the tank goes left in the boss room can be considered as "experience." It's not like the bosses can't be summarised in 10-15 words either if that's the gripe of those that can't handle first timers.

I am glad you had a good experience though Amdapor Keep has some of the more interesting boss fights.

No reason to blame anyone. I'm sorry for your experience. My first time doing amp, I had no idea that people were speedrunning it, didn't realize what the tank was doing, was told to just follow this other guy, didn't see where he went and just followed the tank, not knowing that everyone was going different directions. I do it either way now, prefer speedrunning for one reason only, because I agree that not fighting the mobs is a boring way to do things, but on the other hand, they give you literally nothing. Im sorry you have so much trouble and I find it hard to believe that you waited 45 minutes as a whm. If you want a real sad story, I have beat HM Ifrit over 50 times and haven't even seen the whm wep drop.Did it with my brother and he got the mnk wep on third run, his friend got the sch wep on his first run and the Smn drop, which he is, on his third run. Oh and btw, you can kill nails without a blm, but you can't beat Ifrit if the entire group eats 8 eruptions on stack time.

I just dinged 50 whm today. From what I been reading my progression might come to a halt soon. Anyone who wasn't 1.0 or zoomed to 50 in early access being shunned. Started way back in brayflox longstop sounds like it only gets worst end game.

You have to pretend you know it all from the get go. Don't show any sign of weakness on the internet or they will eat you up.

Remember everyone is a professional and knows it all, including you.

I had similar experiences as a BLM - In my experience, it's been healers who are quick to scream at me for not being geared well enough. In honesty, I just want to kill the quest in my log and rank up with my GC, get it done once. I've watched three healers drop after we downed the first boss, all of them adamant that we won't have enough DPS for the demon wall, slinging insults my way and letting everyone know they're just going to get a new queue to pop whenever they want anyway.

I've been fortunate enough to meet a tank who patiently explained all the fights to me and has gone with me each time, but our luck getting healers who wouldn't flip out without a second's pause and drop after the first boss has been horrible. I've literally given up, I just started leveling other classes. Every once in a while I hit the palace to try and get upgrades.

(i dont post often, but im bored during maint.)

I ran Brayflox as a whm for the first time yesterday, it was intense. But the tank was helpful and worked with me even though i got him killed a couple times. If only that archer would have been a bard, that MP song would have saved lives

I am thinking over the next couple of months the friendlier, less jaded by other MMO types will get to 50 and it will get better. I for one am taking my time leveling, as much as i want to take part in endgame, the other day i took a walk in the game just to see what was over there (it was a 48 zone, and i got a free trip to my homepoint 0-o) the weather was nice and the sun was perfect.

Reading this board for like half an hour is making me dread reaching higher level content. Sounds like if anything kills this game it'll be the community and their unbelievable levels of asshattery.

The problem I see with these people's logic is that they expect people to have all the knowledge and experience already.

However, that logic is also a major flaw because people can't have the actual experience until they actual have the chance to experience the dungeon.

Videos are not enough for "experience" because that is not actual experience. People still need to practice using the knowledge they obtained to actual learn how to use the knowledge and what to do.

Not to mention the issue they expect people to have gears that they can't get unless they run the dungeon themselves to get the tomes needed for getting the gears.

So to expound on the nonsense of some of these speed-runners:

I went to run AK for my first time today on my PLD. I use DF under the impression that others would understand that not everyone would be looking for speed runs. That's what all the yelling in Mor Dhona was all about. Mark, pull, die, no heals.

Me: "1st time here, don't know speed run, let's just do it the old fashioned way."

WHM: "Train the mobs or we won't heal/DPS. You should drop so we can get a new tank."

Me: "Look, you picked the DF, if you don't like it, drop. Why should I be penalized and locked out because you don't want to cooperate?"

    WHM: *rude/elitist remarks here*

Me: "Good luck with that. I've got some reading and other stuff to do. You let me know when you're ready to heal me and I'll pull."

These clever boys sat for over 30 mins doing literally nothing. Clever usage of time, that. I got all my work done, though.

Its like looking for work wherein the lowest positions still needs experience xD
Yet it still happens. Going out for a job search for entry level and still need 5 years experience.
