For me it is IV. First RPG that just felt epic to me. Plus Zeromus was the first final boss to just mop the floor with me over and over.
After that would V. Then VI though I feel while a good game is highly overrated.

FF6 for me, and it'll always be 6.
The opening music is awesome!! I hope someone can re-vitalize the petition thread for bringing music into ARR.

I'm not a VII fanboy, but it will always hold sentimental value to me as it was my first one and the reason I'm the fan I am today.
I thoroughly enjoyed Tactics, I loved the story and the game play. I can spend months playing that.
But, my favorite so far would have to be the XIII series. Yes, yes, it was more linear than most, but the character development, backgrounds, graphics, game play, voice acting, everything was just so crisp and refreshing. I eagerly await Lightning Returns. ; ;

The top 3 FF titles in my eyes are:
FF6(3), FF7, FFTactics. 6 is often regarded as the best RPG of all time, even to this day; proof. Link has some rationale. I was 10 years old at the time. I remember eagerly awaiting my gamepro magazine, and spending all of my time afterschool (hell even faking sick) to play this game. The music. The characters. The setting.
FF7 came out a few years later. Never before had I envisioned an RPG with the fantastic graphics this game had. I played the demo before the game even came out in cd format I got in a game magazine for weeks. THE GRAPHICS! THE STORY! LEVIATHON! A BLACK HERO??? AMAZING! A cool ass, no nonsense main hero badass with delusions of grandeur?
FF Tactics. Possibly the most replayable game ever. I strongly encourage you to check out: http://www.insanedifficulty.com/inde...tics%201.3/faq

Hands down Final Fantasy Tactic. I loved FFT's story and characters far more than the annoying stock characters SE has been using in their FF games since...god damn forever!
Next up in line would be FFIX for its artstyle, gameplay and characters ( Zidane wasn't an over annoying whiny lead, for a change and I don't know why but I really loved Freya's character).

Not the most popular choice, but I LOVED XII. I'm a nerd, I loved being able to program my own AI (sorta), I loved the world and the sweeping political story...and Balthier...omg Balthier.
I also loved VII, but as someone who is old enough to have played it, the original FF on NES will always hold a special place in my heart.

My favorite was VIII. Although the leveling system in the game was a bit odd, I found the story and characters to be the best in the series.
FFXI. Why? Prishe.
FF2, the first appearance of our beloved yellow ostriches.
And the music is a 100% squeaky joy fest as well. ♪
im sorry but when Quistis anilates the robot at the start of 8 most badass seen ever
