I call bs on the ALL the WHM that say you dont get credit for healing ... Im only lvl 39 so the biggest event I have done is the dragon event in cortheas But I just throw Areo up on the dragon keep it up and heal people and get gold every time so not getting to credit for healing maybe you are doing something wrong and not quick enough healing people that are dying ... If for some reason this changes for in lvl 50 fates .. not sure why it would

You don't get credit for healing unless you're in a party.

You do get credit for healing and it's pretty generous but you have to heal damage spamming heal on a target with full hp will net you nothing

I've exclusively healed fates while NOT in a party and still got gold medals so I don't know what you're all talking about.

You have to actually be healing people though, not overheals.

From what i've read, it's based on aggro. So if your healing is pulling aggro, you get a better medal. I was in a fate that i did little in, but had the majority of the mobs chasing me around as i ran circles trying to heal myself, and i got a gold. Others i do damage and try to heal, silver. So it seems about right.

What you read is probably based on a slight misunderstanding, which is helpful but still technically incorrect. You will only begin to pull aggro if you are actually healing HP deficits and not overhealing, so heals that heal damage will also pull aggro. So you could gauge how much effective healing you are actually doing by whether you are gaining any aggro, though this will be a difficult gauge in a massive fight where there is an absurd amount of dds and tanks present.

I can also imagine that healing in fates where lots of people and lag are present can be difficult as it is the healer equivalent of dps running out of pbaoe--it sure looks like your heal made it in time, but the server probably saw another healer get there first.

Overhealing gives you the same amount of enmity as healing actual hp deficits.

Then you are not doing your job healing properly heal people when they take damage. I do not group up for the record and i get gold I can ss for you if you need proof ..I have player health bars to show up only when they are less the 100 percent with mouse over macro's you should be getting gold no problem ...

Well the fact is, we all do Fates for exp and some for GC seals. But sadly playing a healer roll only does not yeild enough exp. I have healed the entire Svara(sp) Dragon fight and finsihed with a gold of like 1200 exp. And it was a LONG fight too. If i would have just used stone II i would have recieved atleast a silver. Don't blame anyone but SE for this mess. It's not our job to babysit others while all the melees and tanks get high exp and we get nothing but a few thanks. I do tend to keep whoever is tanking alive atleast during fates, but mostly i try to do damage to get decent exp rewards.
