I would just like to be able to have the choice to toggle it on or off.

wow, so glad I'm not the only one here who thinks the icon is very confusing Oo
Yes please, remove it ASAP SE ; ; don't even make it optional!
Yes, I agreed include an option to turn the aggro icon off. Thanks.

I didn't find the icon to be confusing. But, then again, I always read the information they put up on the main site. So, I can see how it can be confusing for those that just log in the game and don't do like I do.
I don't like it, it kinda destroys the last sense of surprise and danger there is. :<
I think it's a little too cartoony looking
i also don't like how they increased the size of the linkshell/sell/fix icons as well
I'm not a fan. I feel it takes away an important aspect of MMORPGs: The panic (and by proxy, excitement) of aggroing a mob you didn't notice, or didn't know was hostile. Sure, most people will say that it's an annoyance, but I think it's a fundamental part of the experience. It teaches you to not be an mindless drone, and to keep an eye out while traveling.
Now I can just go "Oh, hey, giant red icon. Let's just work our way around that." Where's the fun in that?
Most MMOS have some kind of aggro indication--it's just that most took the WoW route of making aggressive mobs have red names instead of adding the admittedly distracting icons.I'm not a fan.
