LNC/DRG Can't Roll Need

I too have this issue. Why would the gear list LNC / DRG on the usable by list if we cannot roll need on it? And by the way the group I was with passed on some of this loot and I was able to equip it even though it would not let me roll need (said wrong class). So this is clearly a loot drop box error.

Encountered same problem. Drives me nuts to see armor that's so well-rounded for soloing and listed as LNC gear being kept away from us. Ran Cutters several times and found that even tanks wearing AF will Need lot the stuff just because it looks nice.

I too have experienced this, as a main class lancer/dragoon this is one of the most frustrating things within the game. I'm not sure if it's a bug or intended but it most certainly needs to go, and ive noticed tanks seem to take offense to this, saying that it's to give them first priority. But heres the thing, there is armor seperate to this type of armor for tanks around the same level for them. Scale mail is the only plate type ive noticed lancers/dragoons can equip yet there are still armor sets we cannot wear around the same level tanks get. So why can we not roll for this when scale mail is almost secondary to most tanks, if you've played since launch you'll notice all the lancers/dragoons wear scale mail yet tanks still wear the heavier top tier armor for them which as ive stated above is around the same level as scale mail, meaning they don't even need it. We need it because were alot squishier and it gives str/vit, our main stats as dps. I can't stress enough how annoying it is to not be able to roll for something that you actually need where as a tank would toss it aside for the higher def armor only for them.

Ive had this happen as well was a scale chestpiece in tam and stats were str vit determination and crit. This is a very frustrating bug to say the least. I could understand giving tank gear with str vit skill speed parry ect. Alas I hope this gets fixed.

SCALE MAIL is for DRG.. let us NEED IT!

If our class is listed on the piece of gear then we should be able to need on it. There are specific pieces of tank gear meant for tanking that omit DRG/LNC. The scale mail pieces that we cannot roll on generally do not have parry on them. Str, Vit, and Dex/Crit/Acc/Det, are the typical stats.

Seriously this is like telling a DPS DK, paladin, war, etc. in WoW not to need on plate because plate is for tanking.

If LNC/DRG is capable of wearing mail, then they should be able to roll need on it plain and simple. Again, this is why there is tank gear that excludes LNC/DRG from the list of classes/jobs.

I ask again, is this getting fixed? Please don't come in here saying it's not a bug, because honestly unless you work for Square-Enix, you'd only be speculating at best.

People were upset about marauder and gladiator lotting on Foestriker tabard and so SE made it so that only DPSs could lot it. Now DPSs want tank-specific gear (MRD/GLD/LNC specific). It can be only one way or another, not both. Personally I think the role filter for Need should've never been added, as tanks can make a use of DPS pieces and DPSs can make a use of more sturdy armor for their solo business. If it went back as how it originally was I'd be happier (even though I'm just a mage. There is no conflict of interest for me there).
