Players staying logged in for days - AUTO-KICK THE AFK'ERS

I wasn't trying to be original, how can you be with a problem like this. Perhaps if there was a decent statement from SE acknowledging the issue (and I mean the AFK issue here) then people wouldn't be complaining.

because it's wildly obnoxious that you, and like 50k others are running over the tech support forums with your QQs and FIX IT SE and "this is how I would have done it" or "LAWSUITSS!!!11!" threads, while entirely burying legitimate technical issue threads.

SE knows about the issue. you're not going to make it progress any faster.

Even if SE says it's not that big of a problem, they still should implement an idle kick system! So if someone is standing around an Aetheryte for hours on end and comes back to find he's been booted back to the Title screen... F**K 'EM! Shouldn't be so bloody selfish!

Yea 7 more days are nice but the afk kick in my view would be nicer than having people just sat round not playing, its kinda pointless just so they don't have to use the little bit of effort to log back in

I'm sure the fix tonight will add some kind of idle kick honestly. most of us don't want to go to another server even if they open new ones.

AFK is only a fraction of the problem. Your not seeing the true issue.

Here's the basic problem, broken down into artificial math. (numbers are not guaranteed)

Server population cap of 5,000
Average Char Created is 6,000

This means, no matter what, there are people waiting to log in. Even if all 5,000 were AFKing - there's 1,000 more sitting trying to get in.

They didn't cut the character creation soon enough on some servers, and it's estimated that some are even worse, having double or triple the population limit, waiting to log in.

Behemoth is more like 15,000/5,000 meaning 5K slots and 15K characters trying to log in. Even if the server goes down, your not gonna get in 100% of the time, even not during "peak hours"


Now I support AFK Kicking, with a Captcha program (so no macro/easy way around) but this will only eliminate those AFK (plus bots) every X minutes - which will help everyone rotate and play. (meaning it won't ensure you will never see 1017 again....)

The REAL solution is cruel really. Limiting Character Creation to Population Limit. This way no matter what - everyone can be online at once, even to AFK together.

Agreed! Seeing the same person, standing or lying dead for hours or days at the same spot. They should set some AFK Kick...really...

The only reason people do not log out is because they know that the login issue is still not solved.
Why log out when you know that it would take you ages to get back in? I have not been able to log in for the past four hours.

Also don't just blame the AFKers since they ARE getting kicked out, because FFXIV still has not gone 12 hours straight without a maintenance/random disconnection yet.
One more thing, you paid to be on the game, SE is working on fixing the issue with the world capacities. Whether you're on or not, it is your choice and I really don't think I should be kicked if I AFKed.

I also don't understand the fix "adding more worlds" still, but I'm sure SE knows what it's doing.
Because for example, me and my friends would not want to move to another server and I'm sure many others wouldn't want to. We're not talking about just friends here but linkshell members and free company members...etc

I was more or less expecting more space in the server.
