Are Fates Killing the Markets?

Well on my legacy server, in what markets there are, supply is way greater than demand at the moment. For whatever reason you want to state. And a lot of that supply is from mass retarded crafters who crash fast-selling, steady-price markets by 30%-40% in one day through undercutting ridiculous amounts. Maybe it's just the markets stabilizing since the game hasn't been out long, but it still rather annoying.

And then the 2star green endgame markets are almost non-existent thanks to the 9(x1,x2,x3?) reagents needed per piece. What items are there (and the reagents needed to make them) seem to be ones left over from 1.0 set at exorbitant prices.
Then even if this stuff could be made, the attribute caps on items will really hurt them until it's determined how much the other stats contribute to things.

Without the attribute caps, Quad-melded NQ armor could be equal to Relic/Allagan armor, except in def/mdef.

Do these some of these ppl posting even have 50 craft or crafts? people will grind fate gear/dungeon gears atm since its cheaper and easier then crafting the highest endgame craft gear. hell some people wont even get to see the i90 gears u can get from npc/dungeons or the high craft gear.. some people will belive that their dungeon gear is better than a quad meld craft item simply because it looks better...

but yeah as somone else posts please give up crafting and gathering now, its DOOMED!!! that way us actual crafters can make some gil without asshats severely undercutting as much

You guys have no idea what the 45-50 craft table looks like. Its better than anything youre getting from a dungeon, and we cant even make the stuff without farming tomes and trading those for rare mats.

Trust me. Lvl 50 crafting is highly rewarding. Youd only know if you had a 50 craft. None of that stuff is even on the mkts yet.

Lots of misinformation in this thread. Materia-melded crafted gear, especially HQ, is far better than anything you'll get as a drop of the same level from a dungeon.

As a dungeon crawling PLD I regularly pay for HQ crafted gear on the market. If you don't want to be a drain on the party your gear needs to be within a few levels of your character. HQ gear unmelded is routinely better then anything but scarce/named gear from the highest dungeon level you have unlocked.

GC gear can fill some holes, but there will be HQ gear or scarce dungeon drops that outclass it in a level or two.

You had no options to buy those few mats for DoH recipes, and without crafting you had almost no options for gearing up (market, perhaps questing)

DoL is more or less to save money, as gil prices for mats can be high for new player. Costs of gear are 20x of what you can vendor DoH items for

Does mess with the economy a ton, but man was it hard to gear before. Still not much on market on my server, so I still craft almost everything for DoH items. (DoW/M seems easier other than legs lol)

I have no problem selling my crafted gear and jewelery. I personaly enjoy the crafting system because the developers did a good job at controling gil inflation with the NPCs selling crafted gear.

I already know this. But once again everything pre-50 is pretty much meaningless. Don't really need crafted gear since you can farm fates all day with terrible gear.

Mostly I've used the markets for gathering equipment, assuming people actually list the items cheaper than NPCs since you can get pretty much all the DoL/DoH equipment from them.

I haven't used the AH for battle class gear at all as I've been able to keep up with gear through quests or dungeons.

goldsmithing is a good craft if you want good selling. Culinarian could be too but imo goldsmithing is the best choice because the stats are awesome compared to the drop/reward.
