Poor performance from a high-end build?

If you guys haven't figured it out yet... this game is very CPU intensive.
Example. My wifes old comp got a 4k score on Benchmark. I upgraded the GPU to a 4gb 760GTX card. The benchmark went up to 4800.
I took same card and upgraded the CPU to a i7-4770 and her score went up to over 13000.
All scores reflect 1920x1080 on Max. No graphics card tweaks or game tweaks.

So short story is, getting a better GPU will not help you as much as you think with FFXIV. You need good CPU and GPU.

Nice, mine is a 2012, the GPS system is virtually useless without onstar service.

So short story is, getting a better GPU will not help you as much as you think with FFXIV. You need good CPU and GPU.

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.130318-1533)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770
Memory: 16384MB RAM

Those above specs should have no trouble whatsoever to run the game but like most others it drops from 200+ to 35 - 40 in certain areas and i don't have it on the highest settings by any means and play 1920x1080.

Of course i can't actually log into the game most of the time...
