This is a stupid post. Are FATEs the fastest way to level? Sure. Do you HAVE to do them? No. I do some FATEs here and there but I've been doing the main story, doing the guildhests, dungeons and some side quests and I'm level 40 with no issues (this game has been out about a week by the way AND a lot of people work full time + school + INSERT TIME CONSUMING LIFE RESPONSIBILITIES HERE)

No..... it's not. When I was working on getting 50 on summoner I could do leves and get 8000 exp for one leve, or I join a fate party and do one fate for each leve I did. The fates though gave 20,000 exp. You could also get a rare leve that gave 50,000 exp. Leves and fates both took the same amount of time, but fates took less work and rewarded me much much more.

This isn't a race to 50. There are plenty of other things to do and ways to level.

This game is actually more alt friendly now than it was on 1.0. Before it is a hassle to transfer items to your alts since there is no mail system etc. You had to have a friend help you transfer items. So if you don't like to grind fates etc on ur 2nd or 3rd class you can consider making a new character just for that particular job/class. You can even enjoy the new variety of joining a new city state and GC with your ALT I'm actually considering doing this. Even though it is more efficient still to stay on one character on this game, on an rpg level an alt will be nice

Yet player's dont want the traditional camp mob grinding but they also dont like fate's (some). So what they should have done is added both mob grinding camps and fate's. Kinda a double standard here, yes you can have fate's (mob grinding and no you cant have mob grinding camps. Make's me wonder the logic on this one.

Or, make leve and dungeon xp rewards competitive.

Fate grinding is probably the only way I'm going to get my eventual black mage class to 50. Exhausted a lot of the lower-mid level quests when I leveled up my CNJ, not knowing that I wouldn't even need it for bard. Then of course, leveling up my pugilist.

The problem occurs when people start calling any opposition to their POV a White Knight. Even when the opposition in question is logical and well laid out and points out all the flaws in their argument.

Jeez...what games have people like the original poster been playing in the past? Does noone remember RPG's that took you a month or two in order to get to max level? You people that complain that there aren't faster ways to level piss me off so much because your attitudes are what breed games like this where it only takes a few days of dedicated grinding to finish the story quest! >_<

    **edit**
I don't know, I guess i just remember a time where I would spend weeks looking forward to coming home to a game I could lose myself in and look forward to the next part of the story, the next part of the game. You guys angry over anything that hinders your exp gain in your mad dash to finish within what you consider a reasonable time just destroy the rpg genre in my opinion.

If i remember correctly back on the beta forums alot of people said they missed the grind of XI and now they have something like that and ironically this thread shows up not saying the OP was one of them.
