That is what I had said lol..No, they actually tried to make this less like FFXI, content/gameplay wise(ignoring classic FF things) and take aspects from different MMO's. That was something stated early on when the game was being made. However I do not think they were as successful at that as they wanted to be, but the game is improving as well as more people are comming back to game. So that is a good sign. I do think, like most people, game came out to early and it was pretty crappy at first, but the game has covered so much ground and is improving vastly.
AND they are improving the game by slowly bringing back FINAL FANTASY 11 game mechanics and features if no one has noticed... slowly but yet surely this game will revert back to it's 11 state.

Be specific? I can see small, common MMORPG concepts, but as far as FFXI I do not see anything they added that is like FFXI. So please be specific, do not just do empty statements, back it up with justifications. Also I misread your previous statement and read it backwords lol, my bad.
It is not the quantity of friends you have that determines your worth, its the quality of friends that does.

2. Reverting back to old job names
3. Reverting back the the claiming system with possible copy paste of "Aions" claim system
4. Side quests have been brought back giving shitty rewards and no exp just like FF11
5. Auto Attack
6. "Party Play" as far as lvling. Get ready to look for group and start anticipating some good grind spots.
7. Obviously /invite <player> will be implemented (little things that made ff11 efficient)
8.omg notorious monsters! I never heard of those before :O
9. Possible removal of the fatigue system (more than likely)
10."Removal of physical levels, and the addition of class-specific allotment of attribute points for each class based on rank" sounds familiar...
Also what mishaki said >.>
Why then do we have the same character models as we did in XI?
Why then do we have some of the same items/reagents as we did in XI?
Why are alot of the spell names and effects identical to what they were in XI?
Why is the general art style the same as it was in XI?
How come I always see chocobos?
Why does running around outside Gridania feel oddly like Yuhtunga/Yhoator minus the tonberrys?

1. That is in all MMO's lol, that is not actually making it strickly more FFXI.1. Bringing back class unuiqness "we are also looking into introducing class and rank requirements for equipping gear"

2. True, but they have not said 100% if they were gona add it, its still mixed on that.
3. This is not odd, claiming system between MMO's is generally one of 2 things. 1. individual/party claim only 2. Anyone can hit mob, no offical claim. This does not make it more FFXI like
4. Every game has Side quests, though I agree they are crappy, this does not make it more FFXI like
5. If auto attack is added, though lots of MMO's have this to, it would feel more like FFXI with this.
6. Solo is still fine, doblyn not only thing. Not true at all solo is just as good if you find the correct mobs to grind on.
7. okay remote invites are always generic for MMO's, also we already have it, /pcmd add Character Name
8. Most game have NM, but ya, but to me this si one of the things that make sense, special mobs dropping special items, just like other MMOs.
9. Never any mention of this that I have seen(or at least remember) and even if so, its just normal experience.
10. Can not say till they make the change, cause it could go in any direction.
Most of your statements either are in most MMO's or they have not even changed it yet or say they actually will do that specifically. Also things like "black mage" "white mage" uhhh you must not have played other final fantasies, those are generic terms. For the most part your claims are vague and do not hold value until the changes occur if they even do. Was strickly asking things from FFXI, things that FFXI had ONLY not other FF.

yes all of those are copy paste not just from 11 but other mmos as well... that is my point. 11 was just as good as every other mmo out there but no other mmo had such a hard core pve aspect. so they have realized that there 14 game has failed and need to revert back to "ff11" meaning "lets just copy paste from every other mmo like we should have but using our final fantasy elements"...
I completely disagree with you once again spuffin... From the Interviews/letters I don't get that they are grabbing so much from XI and bringing it to XIV... In fact even with your job naming statement Yoshi-P isn't changing our current class names but instead making in where we unlock ADVANCED classes that MIGHT be named traditionally(so we can be a more defined role and not all of us seeming the same just different weapons). The other way is kinda like a skill tree where choose our specialization(with not exactly having a "Skill Tree"). Sounds like to me They are solving the issue they they how while still creating a unique experience. Unlike the old team that just put on blind folds and sat at a computer.yes all of those are copy paste not just from 11 but other mmos as well... that is my point. 11 was just as good as every other mmo out there but no other mmo had such a hard core pve aspect. so they have realized that there 14 game has failed and need to revert back to "ff11" meaning "lets just copy paste from every other mmo like we should have but using our final fantasy elements"...

Yeah because these aggro indicators, exlcamation marks above NPC's heads, and lack of mob behaviour, and deletion of character collision, all of which are features added or removed by the new development team are such improvements to the game.I completely disagree with you once again spuffin...
