lack of voice acting killing game

I think this should be the very first thing to come to anyone's mind the moment voice acting is mentioned... Lets spend a few million on voice acting and let people spacebar through the material....

I have the Japanese voice over going, A its better, B it helps me keep a little bit of my 4 years of living there knowledge intact...what little we do get of course in the game.

The English VO reminds me of cryptic studios VO work, shoddy and bland, reading a script without even knowing the characters background/look/purpose its AWESOME...

On one hand I want everything voice acted. On the other I don't because the English voice acting so far is terrible. I'm finding myself either muting the scenes with it and just reading instead, or frustrated that I still have to click to advance the dialogue if I want to listen.

My issue is that I know the voice overs are not working correctly. A good example that I have not had a chance to write a bug report about and honestly forgot to, is during the crystal's call youtube vid, we get to hear Amal'jaa speak to Ifrit, but in game no voices. Then Ifrit scene when he says he wants to eat our souls, no voices. I just need to remember to file the bug report.

it is not that hard to add voice acting. i got a big suggestion if you think paying people to do the voice acting is expensive. HOLD A CONTEST. pay them nothing but a subscription and you will have plenty of people to do the voice overs.nothing like doing the 1 quest that even gets voice overs and bam in the middle of them talking they stop and force you to read the dialog instead...horrible. you could even use a voice synthesizer to tweak those voices into more. i would gladly read dialog for you to implement in the game as voice overs.as i told you in phase 3 beta . no one will read the dialog. they end up skipping the wonderful cut-scenes you added to the game. without out voice you basically shot yourself in the foot.

Laugh, you have it backwards. People skip voice because they finished reading the text already.

Engrish voice overs are always horrible relating to anything with the asian culture. Period.

You could always do your own voice acting. In fact, I know a niche part of the Role-playing crowd who do this already. Maybe, you could try that out? Or start a PayPal donation account and raise the millions of dollars it would take for Square Enix to add voices. If there is enough demand, you'd get enough money to at least get their attention. But oh wait, we'll probably just make a thread complaining about it and keep paying our subscription anyway.

I'll be honest... voice acting was actually ruining the experience for me in this game. Poor acting, poor British accents (which doesn't even make sense, as they're not on Earth), and some of the dialogue is more corny when said aloud. That said, FF has always had minorly corny dialogue. But I love it anyway.

It would be a waste. Honestly all the quests I do I don't even bother reading I just skip it. The only people I care about actually reading their dialogue are the City Leaders, Garleans, and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. Other than that I can give two shits about what is happening with the people of Eorzea lol.

According to MMO forums everything is killing the game - They should put a filter on forum posts, if it detects the phrase "...is killing the game", it automaticlly bins the post.
