I love this game, and respect the dev team, but Square Enix crossed a horrible line.

It's not. The gamecode you or anyone else gets is only a license to play the game NOT to showcase the game. In fact, if they didn't have that license that allowed us to showcase the game it would be illegal to stream or upload video. What these youtubers need to do is what professionals do and contact the company to get an expanded license to be able to do more than the average Joe can do with the product.

You know, TB, angryjoe and Jesse (to some degree) is sent most codes spesifically to do review/first impression/gameplay videos... They are respected critiques and doing video reviews are their job, it does not matter if they are on youtube or in some game magazine, its still their job.

Well then, they should be entirely unaffected by this. If SE send them specific codes for reviews they would also send them modified EULAs to allow them to do this, wouldn't they?

What a silly post. Guys, look at network (cable and TV) broadcasting, they either provide their own content OR they pay for content! I see no reason why YouTubers and Streamers should not be required to do the same. What makes you think you can financially benefit off the work of others? People like Total Buscuit for example can afford to pay a royalty to do lets plays... If you are only doing a review, then no payment should be required (aka G4TV never did play throughs, only reviews). These internet scrubs are just trying to make a quick easy buck, go get a real job or pay for your content, that is how broadcasters have been doing it way before most of them were even born.

The only people who take these "youtube celebrities" seriously are 13 year olds who can't afford to buy games, much less pay subscriptions.

Most people watch these videos as a substitute for actually playing the games themselves, and the industry would be a better place if the whole practice was axed completely. It's gotten to the point you can't look up any footage of a game without hearing someone with a nasally voice cracking jokes and making uninformed commentary on top of it.

The only thing that will determine the success of the game is its quality, not this.

I never understood the love that people have for filming there gameplay and then broadcoasting it to the world. Other than for something like a raid fight what exactly is the point and who just sits in front of there computer watching other people play a game.

Square doesn't need you people to make videos to promote their game. All you're doing is whining because you can't profit off a few FRAPS video's + some editing + voice overs.
It's not like this is an indie game that needs all the extra footage i can get. It is a main stream game made by a huge developer. They got it covered. Get over it.
