That's not what history teaches us at all. Considering we've never really had this sort of situation happen before, I'd suggest we expect the best, but prepare for the worst.
I agree, I suggest we all get our hopes up as much as possible to allow for maximum damage when SE dashes them.
I don't think you understand what I'm saying.
Positive thinking and high expectations leads to higher satisfaction and a more positive pressure on others to do well. But being able to prepare yourself for a letdown prevents you from crushing disappointment.
You can do both. Your mind is not that limited.
