I generally try my best to only attack what the tank attacks, but sometimes it just pulls the aggro on you.

Then youhave instances where there's a ton of (small'ish) mobs and the tank runs in and aggro's them all.

Is there a way to set it up where you target what the tank targets? In other mmo's you can set this up, but I haven't found it here.

Target the target of your current target - T key.

I agree with the OP,i don't know why, but Tanks from Duty Finder play like BOTS, and when i mean BOTS, i mean REAL BOTS, they move like them,they don't speak, they don't say even "Hello" and they don't use Flash,Provoke and they don't dodge the AOEs...

Here's a TIP, if you don't want to wipe with a newbie Tank,grab a THM/BLM, and make him cast SLEEP(most underrated spell on this class) on the adds and control them.Trust me, Sleep it's the most usefull spell from THM/BLM on dungeons, that's what always do and the dungeon runs very smoothly even with newbies.

As a warrior can't say I've ever had trouble holding angry against anything. Only wipes I've seen is from dps not knowing mechanics (killing adds/activating stuff) and one time where I didn't get any heals... When I asked the healer what he was doing he said "don't be so eager, i was organising my items"... I left the group instantly. I queue dungeons to kill stuff, fast, not to sit around while you organise your inventory.

Every member in a group needs to know HOW to do their job properly and work TOGETHER in harmony.
Tank main goal is to keep enmity to ensure safety for the rest of group.
So do healers keep tank alive.But also the DDs have an important roll when they know how to kill mobs efficiently without getting aggro.No one in a group should run around doing nothing when having mobs on them.It's annoying for the rest of the group to chase after.

So everyone relies on each other in the end.As a tank I make mistakes myself.Don't be afraid to ask for advice or support in group.But try to listen to people who gives you tipps no matter what role you are and be neutral and don't yell at anyone.

But of course there are tanks/DDs/Healers who do a lot of mistakes but learn from them.After this their learning curve increases.
On the other hand there are people who make mistakes and never admit they're in wrong positon.

Bad DPS generally makes the tanks/healers job harder thus showing their own shortcomings.

EDIT: Stop calling them DD, this isnt FFXI, its not a terminology even used by the game, there not a lovely pair of boobies (otherwise the DPS could be as bad as they wanted and I wouldnt care).

Originally, I laughed at this thread, but when I actually took the time and read it I learned a lot. I think I will be a better DPS now because of the information posted here.

P.S. Before this thread I was one of those people who ran into 3 mobs and spammed ice aoe because I thought it was a good technique to help tank out lol...

What if he was putting ethers on a hotbar slot? Or checking which food he had would give the most useful buff for the instance?
