I decided "screw it, I'm from a PAL region, but I'm going to the NA support center anyway" and found the NA webchat. I was able to get on right away (probably since it's 6:00 PM here, so that means it something like 6:00 AM in America) and after quite a long wait for the rep to respond (along with long pauses between messages, they're really busy) they've escalated my issue. Mog Station still shows two accounts though and the customer rep wasn't sure if it might take some time to update or something. Still, progress is progress.
