Add another user to the list. I did receive an email from support on the ticket I submitted saying that it will be responded to within 48 hours so here's to hoping that holds true.
It's really quite the conundrum.
We can purchase another digital key to add to our first account. This would allow us to keep playing the character we started and have no chance of deleting it but I would see almost no chance of getting our CE items transferred.
We can hope that they merge the accounts within the head start time and run the risk of losing our characters all together.

That's what I'm asking! I need to know If I need to charge stuff on amazon NOW or not.
Well this is something new. I got all the way down to 1 in the queue and now it keeps rolling back and forth from 1 in the queue to 2 in the queue back to 1 in the queue. For 5 mins now its been doing that. Weird.
WOW... after waiting yet another two hours. I just got the status Cancelled message like I did the first time. I'm done trying to get connected via Live Chat. I'm still waiting on the phone (2hrs now) and I'll ask about the character deletion. However to my knowledge, nothing has been said about deleting characters.

you are not going to lose your characters, stop scaremongering, SE might be handled this whole account thing badly, but they are not going to commit business suicide by deleting characters.
Candice - it took like 15hours before I got confirmation that my ticket was received.
I went almost a full 24 hours before getting the automated response to my ticket.
I assume people are saying there is a risk of losing your character because the account that has the game registered to it doesn't have your character. So if they can't/won't fix your account you can either lose your EA items and progress and start over, or buy another copy of the game (and hopefully not make this mistake again).
This is incredibly frustrating, I want to put in a ticket but that would mean having to agree to terms which include:
