Your solution is for them to not let people play the game. Which guess what? Will run people off.

If they open up more servers it will allow more people to play the game. Will that run people off? Only if the game is BAD. See the problem?

Rift wasn't good enough to hold people's attention, so people left.

Square at least needs to give their players the CHANCE to see if the game is worth sticking around for.

So yes, more servers DOES fix this problem. If the servers are dead in 3 months and they need to be merged, then the game isn't as good as people hoped.

Again, its clear you have no idea what you're talking about. Move along.

Well, if it is because they want to prevent dead servers than at least have a proper working queue insterd of "try agin later".

Also EU players cannot create character on an EU server anymore. They will need to chreate their character on a NA or JP server, with the risk of having a dead server at prime time.

There are at least 6 open servers whenever I try to create a character. More servers ins't a problem. Not being able to get onto the high pop servers to play with friends is the problem.

Excellent point. Too many servers can be a bad thing, but it's just all these AFKers and all that non-queue bull crap that's keeping people out of the game. A few more servers isn't a bad idea, though.

Why would SE auto-kick idlers when there's Sanctuaries that grant rest bonus to ppl who idle around them?
They not going to auto-kick anyone. They need to add more servers and/or separate NA from EU.
You are retarded for thanking a company for causing grief to their players. I bet you were that one kid in school who always volunteered to take names in class while the teacher steps out.

You get rest bonus for logging out in an inn. Leaving idlers in the game takes up room from people trying to log in and play. Most of the problems with launch so far would be solved with an auto-kick idlers.

    OP is correct.

More servers can be a bad thing.

One or two won't hurt... But too many will simply result in a lot of low population servers once the rush wears off.

There is no right or wrong way. Add too many now, keep people around for the time being. Or, don't add any at all, piss everyone off, and eventually the population will die everywhere and create a horrible stigma for ARR, being a botched game due to stubburness and SE being cheap...

    You're absolutely right

Ignore them, Merix. The people talking right now are not the vast majority but the loud and select few. They're butthurt because they couldn't use a product before it was even officially released, and they're not intelligent enough to realize that Technical Issues do exist and are not easy to resolve. They would learn if they tried for two seconds to ever fix their own problems, but these are the people that yell at everyone else for their own issues that they've created.

Besides, even if they "run off" like they're all threatening to do (because they honestly believe that all of Square Enix is busy reading their forum post and not working to resolve the problems at hand) they'll be back in a week. They wouldn't be so irate if they didn't want to play the game, and worst case scenario they'd see their friends playing it two weeks from now and jump on the bandwagon.

I mean, just look at them begging square for refunds. Most of them didn't buy their product from Square and if they told Amazon or Gamestop that they bought a product and then were not permitted to use it by the manufacturer, they'd get a refund in seconds. It's just proof that they're petty and not serious about what they're saying.

And yes, you are absolutely right about the servers, by the way. This is a subscription based system with a relatively cheap introduction cost (the cost of the game itself). So if Square presents a product that works upfront and then falls apart, they'll lose more money then presenting one that can sustain but is... quirky... at release.

And besides, adding virtual servers (which is exactly what everyone here is referring to, whether they realize it or not) will not magically generate more physical server space at Square's data center, and installing physical servers takes a great deal of time and effort (at least if you want them to work correctly. Believe me, IT is my career.) So splitting up the in-game servers would only spread the problem out. Their data center would still have the same bandwidth and the same capacity.

So, to everyone who yelled at Merix for not having any real business sense: Have fun working McDonalds for the rest of your life. Your crazy opinions are the reason you're not the ones developing multi-million dollar franchises like this one.

Forums need a dislike button regardless of score due to posts like the one above me. Aside from the wall text, it's just another fan boy apologist trying too hard to protect the false image of the current state of the game, that they have created in their own feeble mind.
