I guess he meant JP. Not NA/EU

I guess he meant JP. Not NA/EU

They won't delay it no matter what.
Yoshi P never had the power to delay it in the first place.
Not when SE answers to investors.

It's a known fact that SE and Blizzard are two companies that don't have to answer to investors...Yoshi P. said this himself....(also why XI can still milk the P2P system all these years)

Get a life man, this is an MMO launch. If he refused to launch this game until it was perfect, it would NEVER be launched...
Any seasoned MMO veteran should know by now that it is very rare for an MMO to launch without any problems.
[QUOTE=SwordCoheir;1065332]Problem is there's no way to base how popular or not an MMO will be, nor will they always be able to account for spikes in server activity which comes with launches, after maintainence, etc.QUOTE]
Its very easy. They took digital sales and gave out pre-order vouchers which would directly correlate to how popular it would be during launch. That is essentially why companies like preorders (the demand is already set). Spikes should be easy weekends and whenever people start getting home from work on PST, and you had a proper amount of servers to begin with shouldn't be a huge problem considering how long they have worked on this game.
When TERA launched with this similar problem of people not being able to start on the same servers as their friends, people were given free transfers to anywhere depending on server ruleset. Hopefully SE will follow suit.
What in your opinion is wrong with the game? Oh, your rant is actually about the servers, which are getting hammered by 1000s of users, during early access, before the game even goes live. What part of the game's fault is this?Due to Yoshi's promise to not release the game unless it was perfect....
The game will have to be rescheduled for release....
Im sorry but he is a man of honor and if he does not live up to that then SE loses my support. Honor is everything, and his promise was to not release unless perfect.
--------------
I hope he honors his promise becasue I want a perfect game and if released now....
FAIL ...

Please do the honorable thing here YOSHI
Um... they were *supposed* to conduct a stress test (which they "did" for 3 days, and had the same problems as now) and make sure they were prepared for launch.

The 'game' itself is great, I have not encountered any negative issues so far. The server status will be fixed eventually, so I'm not too worried. Now if the game itself sucked, well that would be a different story.

while you have all been debating here, SE has already delayed release and extended early access right under your noses...
scroll down to the bottom of the front page of the lodestone, in bright green letters is says,
Early Access Period
August 24, 2013 (Saturday), 2:00 a.m. to August 29, 2013 (Thursday), 11:59 p.m. (PDT)
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/
it has been there since early this afternoon
The customers are to blame for being excited to play and their product not working? Are you retarded?
Also, this is an MMO launch. Are some of you really that surprised that something of this magnitude isn't working perfectly right off the bat? You people need to get a fucking grip. These problems CAN'T occur until the game is released to the public on a mass scale, as it is now. Nothing can simulate that. So as the problems pop up they fix it, easy as that. You can be rational and understanding and not get upset about it or you can get in a tizzy over it which won't change a damn thing. It'll be fixed when it's fixed, no need to stress out over something that is out of your control.
