At least in terms of Conjurer which is all I've experienced to this point, it's been a great way for me to get a feel for how the game works. I've had to learn how to target in crowds and parties (which is much easier, thankfully), so I needed to learn the gamepad filtering options. It's also pretty easy development, at least to this point - everything into Mind. Cleric stance lets me go offensive if I'm soloing or want to throw in a bit of extra damage if I'm not busy healing. About the only thing I can't really do is close-range combat, but that's why I'm working on Pugilist as well.

And yes, it's a great feeling to heal or raise random people you run across. I'm going to keep a gear set shortcut on my cross hotbar to switch to CNJ at anytime for that very reason.

Eventually I'll be a BRD, but right now I'm enjoying the healing and support scene. Not only is it a high-demand position in parties, but I get to learn a lot from dungeons and scope out how things should be done before I try them out myself as a different class.
