If you are from 1.0 then you already have the pc copy. If you are not then you need to buy both copies to use the client. It isn't the client what matter it is the permanent options in your service account.
Again, how do you know this since no one has logged onto the game yet?I am sorry but they are referring to the release version and to service account. Service accounts are the area where you keep your permanent options. They say you need to register both versions of the full game because you need a pc permanent option and a ps3 permanent option. They have to be able to work on the same service account for a player to use his character on ps3 and on pc. You can have a service account but without the ps3 permanent option, you cannot log into your character.
And even if this IS true, it makes no sense to mention this because if someone wants to log on to either PC or PS3, they're going to have both versions of the client purchased and installed anyway. You're bringing attention to something that is completely inconsequential.
Simple solution, pre-order the pc version from amazon redeem the early access code then cancel the pre-order.I thought this as well, but I don't remember them explicitly saying it and I saw the two permanent options for preorder and have the console names. If you are legacy and registered the ps3 code then there will of course be no problem but if you only have one early access code and you are not legacy then there might be an issue. I am just saying for what I observed and every permanent option in our SE account has a purpose. If they have a permanent option called "final fantasy xiv a realm reborn preorder PC" or "final fantasy xiv a realm reborn preorder ps3" with the in game items below them, there must be some sort of purpose or they would just call them "final fantasy xiv a realm reborn preorder"
I don't have early access and don't plan to pre-order to get it but I hope you all have tons of fun as I did during phase 4 since I was able to play without the error. I'm going to spend this weekend on possibly going out and being less of a hermit because that's all I mostly do and kinda sad that for me who is 26 years old to never have had a g/f so I think its time to get out of my shell and get out there and meet people with possibility of maybe finding a g/f.
Ready and waiting with my 7 days off of work perfect use of my vacation time for this year if i do say so myself '-')
Kinda unrelated but does anyone know if there will be a free trial starting in EA, I. Preordered the digital ps3 version
I'm so confused now. I have tried to log in to check my account on pc, i've got the 1.0 CE, not sure if legacy though i 'think' i do, doesn't seem like i can. If i go to the square enix account site, it just shows previous accounts, and when i try to log on the mogstation link it gives me, it asks me to put in a preorder code, can't check any existing account. :\ I have put in my ps3 preorder, but not clear how to check that and see, or find out if it was linked right. Gah, this could be done so much easier i think.People with 1.0 accounts but without early access say they cannot log in, that's why I think only people with early access can log in. So that is how you can check for now.http://i.imgur.com/lPKoAOA.jpg
Their system clearly differentiates between PS3 and PC. Don't count on being able to log in to PC early access if you only have PS3 early access and vice versa.
Play until the sun comes up. Then play some more.
I know this because I have played in the ps3 beta. And I had two pc service accounts, and one ps3 service accounts bounded to one of ps3 service accounts. When I disabled my ps3 and pc service accounts (I was trying to force log out my character because I had the error 3102) it wouldn't even let me click "play". When I had both on, I could click play. But if I clicked on my service account without the ps3 option after pressing start, I was forced logged out because it said I was missing a valid service account. This makes sense because that one didn't have the ps3 permanent option. This is why they keep telling us we need to buy both copies of the game to play on both. Because without both pc and ps3 permanent options we cannot log into both.
