I'm curious to know... Has anyone, who's planning on going to the Gamescom in Cologne, thought about accommodations in the region of Cologne? If so, where have you been looking for accommodations? At one of the partner hotels? Or somewhere else?

I hail from the Netherland, about 160km away from Cologne, so i'm thinking about looking for a place to stay overnight (somewhere near the convention). Any ideas?

I did this in 2010 and it was great fun staying up to the early hours talking to all the other gamers with plenty of beer!

I want to go, but because Gamescom is 23rd to 25th and launch is on 27th it completely depends on the dates for early access - if it's that weekend then I wanna be playing! *hopefully* early access will be 19th to 23rd and they'll take the servers offline for Gamescom weekend so they can use them to advertise some real cool end-game features. That would suit...

It was nice seeing you in-game as well. I went out in Western La Noscea to look for more Paprikas and I was amazed how easy it was to get a full stack of them!

I like the idea of talking with fellow gamers, especially FFXIV players. (^_~ ) Personally i'm not really a camper. I prefer the comfort of a house/appartement (with a kitchen and bathroom). Hehe

The shower and toilet blocks were very nice! There's a building on-site with a cafe and a bar too. However, I can agree that sleeping in a tent isn't as comfortable as in a bed.

It's 23c/74f right now, I'm gonna cycle for at least 2 hours before the heat comes back lol.

Funnily enough when I was trying to get good photos and doing emotes (in motion mode of course) in that striped pants gettup I noticed people stopping and looking at me and even a few people doing things like /yes and /cheer.

He's almost making me consider hopping the gender barrier.
