Sorry boss, next time I'll ask permission to every single player in game before doing a CT Raid which it's almost 1 decade old.
Maybe ask to every sprout if we should only auto-attack bosses so they get the fully fight and all mechanics.
How we dare to loot for items too? A random sprout that got randomly in the roulettes should have more privileges than anyone else
What does that have to do with anything being said?
Are you just trying to be hostile or getting to me?
1 decade old doesnt mean that people aren't new to it, tho?
Chosing to do roulettes which you have no time for is not anybody elses problem but yours.
Are... are you doing okay? Are you trying to derail me into saying something you want me to say? What's your goal other than being awfully hostile and spiteful for no reason?
I mean i can ask and everything as much as i want, i just get "insulted" and get extremely hyperbolic and out of context things in return, so i dont think you actually have anything to say to the matter.
Not like anybody here can actually insult me, it's very interesting to me tho.
I mean, I post on an alt. And the guy from the cringe thread is a perfect example as to why. He posted something controversial on his main, and his character got posted on twitter. He was being stalked in game, his FC was being harassed. All because he said something some people didn't like. And because I am accused of "wrong think" a lot, I'd rather not deal with it.
On top of that, one guy tracked me from the forums, to a hunt discord, to the game just to harass me.
Im super curious what take was so hot that it resulted in all that....geeze. No matter how strongly we might think something, sounds like some people need to take a step back and remember it really is just a game.
I mean I turn on the news and then I remember why I don't watch the news :3
I expect nothing less in an mmo
damn this is dark ; __;
Yes ? 2.5 - 3m that I could have used standing in limso land staring at bun bois and manroe ? I optimize my free time as should we all.
There’s already a thread crapping on getting CT all the time. I think it’s pretty clear people don’t enjoy some of the content in this game. Before you say “don’t queue for it then”, the experience bonus of a roulette. As long as people are leveling, they may suck it up and do content they don’t necessarily enjoy.
Now something I’ll repeat from earlier in this thread but I’ll word it slightly different. I’ll wait if you ask nicely. Don’t demand of me. It’s rude and I’ll show you and your cutscene the same respect you gave me. Don’t demand for others. The person in cutscene may not care one way or the other. But this community likes to get offended for others. If no one says anything, or makes a demand of me, I’ll pull without thinking about it. More so when demanded. You get what you give
It always does feel like the people who have meltdowns in shout over early-pulling were just like.. waiting, hoping they're given a reason to start a conflict. It's like those tanks in dungeons who try to bait people into pulling mobs on accident so that they can have a righteous meltdown. I know a few people like this personally through FCs and stuff, and they really are just constantly hoping for outrage so they can posture and make gestures to assert their "good person" status. Most of them, unsurprisingly, aren't actually good people when you dig beneath the surface.
Exactly. There’s usually one person just waiting to snap. Let all their hatred out. But need to justify it with “but they (the early puller) are the bad guy”. Worse yet is when other people jump in. As if the gates have been open and the light turned green. There are some downright angry and horrible people in this game just looking for any excuse to get a pass for such behaviour
I can assure you sprouts will continue to live just fine, regardless if they missed Xande punching a tank in the face, 9S shooting a tank in the face and shooting some lasers, or Yiazmat tearing a tank's face off and dropping some puddles, all of which they will see multiple times throughout the fight, in content that was designed to be ran at least once weekly, because the cutscenes are generally only around a minute long at most.
To see people compare alliance raids to MSQ, which has cutscenes that are so long that it's possible to completely skip some if people do the fights without you, is patently ridiculous.
Yes weird coming from me who is all blabla wait blabla, i know.
But agreed, no need to be all hostile about it either.
Thats literally not helping at all.
There are people that do early pull despite being asked by the person themself and also, i think "i'm new" is supposed to signal that they dont know anything and means cutscene, but thats how I see it.
It's just... it DOES go both ways, always will, always has.
But being "hostile" on purpose (like some replies to me) will not help at all. Pretty sure they want to tickle something out of me that isn't even there.
In fact, i'm not even trying to be offended for others, i speak in general but I am in no way holier than thou.
My mind is just "waiting if new people are there is nice since you were (and will be) new sometime and its not their fault for starting later than you"
And maybe get lasered, stoned (big doggo), getting some vuln up, getting hit by avoidable things because they just zoned in but that's neither here or there i guess.
Boss cutscenes have story to it, especially Ivalice especially for those who played Ivalice.
And Nier raids also give context to why the bass looks how it looks and is part of the story.
That's... the point. They have a story. It's not at all like msq THANK GOD but its a bit of context for the overall thing.
Watch them again for a refresher maybe? They have context to them...
I don't entirely disagree with this stance, but to play devil's advocate and defend the sprouts, how many true sprouts do you generally see say ANYTHING in the chat? Most regular players barely say anything, so if a sprout was brand new to an instance and is being taken in by all the cool cutscenes and stuff, do you really think they would pipe up (bringing their UI in and distracting them from said scene) to say, "yo wait up." I don't think so, and I've definitely never seen it, so while it may sound like a logical thing to do, it might not be practical.

“Im new” to me only means “sorry if I screw up, die or don’t dps enough” not “I’d like to watch the cutscene AND experience the first mechanic or 2 that will repeat throughout the encounter”. But we interpret things in different ways.
I get the whole “it’s polite to wait” argument. But like anything else, there’s another perspective. Mine being, they are 1 person taking the time of potentially 23 others. Truly neither are wrong. You just happen to disagree with the perspective opposed to yours.
Honestly I’ve never watched a cutscene. Not 1. So yeah, I don’t have any appreciation for the story. But people play for different reasons. Sometimes those reasons clash.
What people need to understand, imo, no one player is more important than any other player. That includes the new player. I know it’s selfish, but as I said already, I play this game for myself. I’m the only player that matters in this game to me. I’ll meet people halfway though. I’ve never, not once, pulled when someone asked politely. I give respect when others give it. I’ll pass on loot if otherwise just turn in for seals if someone asks politely. Not just a “I need the gloves”.
What I will never give in to. Never bow to. Hostility. I will not ever be convinced my early pulling is wrong when berated with threats and insults. No where in any of that dialogue I am receiving will I be convinced theirs is the good argument

May I ask how you 100% know that it only means that and nothing else?
I'm not trying to argue, i'm just... really curious how that means only that. I just want to know THAT part.
Like, of course it means THAT too, because new, you dont know the mechanics. Me looking at poor new people getting roasted by every mechanic is really funny too... sorry.
Problem is also that some people "can't" write.
Be it anxiety or PS5. I know, i know, JUST buy keyboard, just do this, just do that (basically telling others what to do while also condemning others that say what to do, which i find funny... not you tho)
Or whatever reasons, but PS5 seems the most reasonable to why people can't write.
Insulting early pullers goes way too far too, it's just.. i'm a bit miffed if people even say so by themself and others just like "haha but actually no"
Asts prepulling is just funny because it's like they forget it auto explodes. Sparkly bomb has been deployed.
At least you dont need to throw... whatever others did at me, since oh no, different opinion and i like actually discussing the different sides and ask questions.
May make me look like a Karen but i'm just chilling over here, actually interested in this so i write, otherwise i wouldn't.
I don’t know thats what it means. As you don’t know they mean your interpretation of it. We both just assume. As i already stated, we interpret it in different ways.
To clarify about asking to watch cutscene and this goes for the devils advocate guy i believe touched on this; i have never, not once, pulled when someone asked politely. I do not know if the person who said anything is the new person or not. I have once seen someone say they are new and wanting to see the cutscene. Only one. But every time, literally every time there has been a new person, someone says “cutscene” or some variation of it. Someone always says something. It’s how its said that determines how i react. A single word, “cutscene”, i think, “yeah, and?”. “We have new people”, “ok, maybe they don’t care. Not like I’m stopping their cutscene”. “Wait for cutscenes please” is a simple response that holds me back. Doesn’t matter who said it. I’ll wait
Some people in this thread also need to remember, those who said about the icon above the viewers head. They are not in my alliance, I don’t see them. I’m not spinning my camera looking for them as they may not even be close enough to see.
People here speak of being polite. Say please. You’ll get a lot more of what youre calling for, from me anyways. I’m not your dog. I don’t take commands
Agreed we do, thats why i wanted to know!
It can mean many things, some people just parrot it anyways because they've seen many people do it as a general code to show you are new because people dont see it otherwise i guess.
The ring usually stays way longer with somebody in cutscenes, juuust saying!
And usually say "we have new people" similar things because people usually run too fast that i barely get to write much. Might have to rethink that, you are NOT wrong.
And i'm not accusing you, you made very clear that you'd like if people just ask better (depends on how much time they have, things in dungeons can be really fast and raids sometimes too, not disagreeing with you tho).
But others still wouldnt care and that DOES kind of suck if you can be as nice as can be and get told off.
And some just can't write in the few seconds they have time until everybody goes because controller typing sucks and they dont have mechanical keyboard for their console for... sort of obvious reason.
But again, i bring this up again... got called toxic raider because i told people to pay attention after 3 wipes in TGC the nice way. One can never know, some don't care at all.
We sort of agree in ways but agree to disagree. At least you dont go to... whatever some people wrote as response to me (amuses me a lot). Thanks for that lol
Eh, it just depends, they just want a please rather than just a word or two. As long as they don't go "well you said "cutscenes please" which isnt polite enough for me so i don't care!!" theres no issue with wanting a please.
If you dont mean it like that, sorry for misunderstanding.
Ah, i hope i don't come across like that because that's not what i want either lol.
I mean i do sound sort of extreme sometimes so thats understandable, but a discussion does need two sides.
Some sound like they don't... give a shit about others because they dont even have time to actually play and want to do long content without time. Not like that but taken to the extreme. Especially funny are the cases where people go "you dont know their circumstances in whicht hey rush!" as if that doesnt go for the other side that doesn't write and demand them to buy extra stuff just to write.
And i may come across as "save all these new children oh no oh woe, poor babies".
So.. yeah i can see that.
I'm just curious and like to... "contend" stuff. Not in a hostile way, but a discussion that interests me with many people with sort of similar "just go" mentalities means a lot of different insight in different thoughts that i can question to why it is like it is. Overly curious one could call it. Definitely call it that.
But i legit dont understand the extremely overdone responses to me because they seem to just want me to react in the same overdone overdramatic way to be like "haha you're also just pretending to be nice" or something, hmm.
Oh i feel you on that one. Got kicked from a nier raid for simply saying “dodge plz” to a ninja who stood in every telegraphed marker on the floor. Was told i was being toxic and an elitist. It’s just how some people are when they feel they are in the spot light in a negative way or you are suggesting they may not be so great. 2 words, typed on a controller while healing and handling mechanics, got me kicked for being toxic
And the truth comes out. That one person by themselves didn't get you kicked, so there is either more to the story or enough people felt like "People here speak of being polite. Say please. You’ll get a lot more of what youre calling for, from me anyways. I’m not your dog. I don’t take commands".
What truth came out that you are using in an attempt to instigate? That 1 person was with his friends. They made that clear. Oh well. I don’t see how you quoting me has any validation here. I said plz to them. They decided to kick. What you quoted is that i say a please to me goes a lot further than a demand. Just logging in to pick more fights today?
I wrote something similar in TfDF thread before. A rando WHM tried to vote me out after I called them out in party chat for cheesing ilv into getting LotA: ”Nice HP.”
Unlucky for that WHM, I was queueing in as a group of 6 with my friends and one of them mentioned about the vote in discord voice chat. There’s another random with us besides that WHM but naturally everybody’s fingers was pointing to that WHM. Our tank was petty upset about it & commenced a countervote after the initial vote failed though.
Maybe it's just me but I was always thankful if people went and pulled while I was watching a cutscene. I respect the fact that people have limited time, especially when they're working fulltime. I'm gonna end up doing that content another thousand times anyway.
SE has done nothing to elevate the issues of making people waste their time on MSQ cutscenes, especially when everyone present in a group had already seen the MSQ cutscenes. Hopefully the changes Yoshi-P promised to MSQ roulette after 6.1 will actually shed some fruits.
As I also said typing with a controller while handling mechanics as a healer. A healer keeping a ninja alive who refused to dodge. If you can not understand why a person typing with a controller had to take short cuts, then you are I believe, intentionally ignoring the difficulty of the situation simply for the sake of being aggressive on the forums. That does seem to be your bit
Even with keyboard you usually write short and... sweet.
Also I legit had people coming to the defense and telling me i'm so extreme and almost kicking me over saying Freecure is not good to use because it wastes mp after 2 tries.
People CAN legit want to kick you over nothing because you were wondering why they used Cure over the whole of Paradigms Tower.
You'd think there can be "more" to sometimes. It can be, it depends on how defensive the person trying to make themself the poor victim acts and all.
But for me, i was called toxic for wanting people to pay attention after 3 wipes and explaining that you just need 3 people in the circles. People not going into circles got it nerfed.
And i said that cure isnt worth it over anything else and a waste as a fact and that whm did NOT like that.
Just check some replies to some people (and me) and look how they want to rile you up to answer like that back to you to escalate things.
Edit: I got it wrong, they were cure II-ing, saying that gives them Freecure, which i said is not what it does, they said i'm wrong and showed them, as fellow whm, getting freecure while cutscene people... that cure 1 is what is needed for cure 2. Actually showing them because they dont read the tooltip. That was the issue.
