Right? Some people just can't see pass their own noses and always resort to name calling.

It's too early to tell if this game is declining or not because:
1) No one can provide actual statistics about the retention.
2) http://www.dualshockers.com/2013/10/...g-in-december/ They just got another 500k accounts on top of their previous million. We know there's at least 500k playing the game, but then you have the other 1 mil and probably at least 250k of them are still actively playing. so all together, at least 750k are active. ( All speculation)
That's why when people say the game is dead this early on ( 2 months) without proof is baffling to me personally.
About the 6 month mark, we will see how the game is really fairing.
This doesn't count bots which is probably a rather large number. Accounts since launch could technically mean P4 but I assume it doesn't. Out of that million it's not counting how many people never chose to sub and getting their free 30 days and have since quit or people that unsubbed already so the whole million thing can't really be trusted. I would say the actual number is easily below 500k. Even if it isn't, most of the people looking for a good PvE raiding environment will move on by the end of the year probably even further dwindling that number. It's been 3 months, P4 was release for all intents and purposes.
As much as I hate "counting" bots into the equation, They still have to "buy" a code don't they? Sure they can unsub and make a new account, but they would need a new code ( meaning buying the game) to login.
They are just as active as "Normal players" being active, it's just they are doing things illegally.
That aside, I feel like people are jumping the gun on the "Game is declining" type threads. Without bots, I say normally active by 6 month mark, should be around where SE was targeting in the first place 250-300k players. In the end, it's good news for SE.
As long as SE is making money off of anybody ( including bots) then really the bots are certainly apart in the equation.
P4 was P4. You can't be selective and manipulate things to benefit your own argument. It's not even 2 full months yet since ARR release. Just over 2 months if we want to include EA, which we really shouldn't because that's not officially the "release".
It's ridiculous to expect people to stay, regardless of content availability. People will ALWAYS leave for reasons unrelated to content. Likewise, people will join for their own reasons. Even if it were under 500k active post-sub players, that's already a huge success to SE, given their low expectations from the beginning.
want a quick picture of the games health? if you happen to be in a social FC that recruited lots of players and didn't have staff culling the old log out for room you can look at the member list and see just how many people have not logged in the last 2 weeks +.
if the number of people not logging in for that long or longer is greater than the number who have logged in the server you are on is losing players. (yes i know some of those will be alts.) doesn't matter for this.
also try signing in at really off time for your server and go to the three big fate zones and check out the visible population.
during the free month after launch dead time was still packed with players on shiva now we can do Svana's flight with 10-12 people and thats almost half the total population in the entire zone. Mordona (sp) is just as empty and the cerulium (sp) plant doesn't boast many either. dead time is usually where you see a decline in players first. rush hour hides it better. because you can't really see a lack till its a very large number have gone.
Don't see the point you are making here. 48 hours game time over 2 weeks or 2 days doesn't change a person from being a fat slob. That picture could just as well be you. The point still it you can max level in a short amount of time regardless of how that time is spread.
WTB a Thumbs down button,
your very wrong, it's not even close to dieing, I been playing none stop and have seen crowds of ppl everywhere. clearly your the only one not logging in, thus not seeing ppl in FFXIV.
now please go away, we don't need your trolling. shooooo
We know updates will come to Coil and CT and extreme primals and possibly still BL(if this isn't higher than coil, their dev team is pretty much retarded) If most of that doesn't come with 2.2, then the game is ever worse off. Releasing new content with the same gear level that already dropped or worse makes no sense and is terrible design...so the new turns dropping 90 gear would be ridiculous.
How is it invalid when the post I quoted said:
"Fun fact, it was. Also WoW lasted a lot longer leveling wise and gearing up to even get into MC. Where as FFXIV you could level and gear up in a week and walk into Coil. "
Well, of course you can level and gear up in a week. It all depends how many hours a week we're talking about.
Ultimately the discussion is useless, because if you play 12 hours a week and finish the game and I play 3 hours a day and I still have things to do after a month and a half, then both of us are doing things 'right'. It's just that only those who already ran out of things to do (or still have them but just don't want to) seem to be complaining about it all the time.
Problems that I currently see:
Repeated bug issues with Turn 5
Beautiful Halloween event, but extremely simple/dull compared to XI or even 1.0 events that actually involved using half a brain
Smaller zones means much more competition for farming (particularly diremite web and fleece, despite the addition of a few more camps for each)
Releasing iLvl 90 content (Coil) before iLvl 80 content (Crystal Tower). Sure the latter is 24-man content, but higher likelihood of inferior drops given the lower item level
Releasing way too much content for level 50, meaning they're going to need to add that much more content when they finally raise the level cap
Black mage is even worse than it was towards the end of 1.0
Removal of a working auto-sort system for inventory
Instead of adding to the auto-translate, they've reduced it drastically since 1.0
Addition of an annoying system menu that pops up if you hit escape too much instead of keeping all the menu items in one easy-to-access location
Which can be done within a matter of 48 hours...not really getting the argument being made here. Plenty of guilds on our server all took days off to play and get to 50 and compete to get into coil and clear it the fastest. We are playing the game wrong and are fat slobs? Is that what is trying to be pointed out lol? Most hardcore gamers now a days have full time jobs and school and families, making personal assumptions about people you will never know or meet is just showing your immaturity. No matter how fast anyone gets to max level or gear has nothing to do with the fact the game has no content and can be cleared in less than an hour.
Setting aside the fact that your grammar made my eyes bleed, you also need to pass around some of that good stuff you're smoking, because I want to try some of those fantastic hallucinations as well.
The servers are bursting full, on mine I can't have a day in which I don't find queues. The game at the moment offers the best quality over the rest of the MMORPG market, hands down, and people recognize it. The only ones that will quit are the usual hoppers that grind a new MMO 12 hours a day, seven days a week at launch, run out of stuff to do, and then go play something else. They represent a vastly overwhelmed minority in a MMO population, and they're entirely irrelevant.
The only thing I'm sad about is seeing nonsensical threads like this one and having to wade through excruciating grammar in order to understand what they say. Only to find out that it wasn't worth it.
Yes. If you take days off work to play a MMORPG at launch and grind all the content in a matter of days, and then complain because you have nothing left to do, the problem is on your side, not with the game.
I won't make assumptions on your body mass, but the fact that you're complaining about a situation you created all by yourself is evident.
You also represent an overwhelmed minority of the player base, making your complaints pretty much irrelevant.
Honest question then:
If you're the kind of person who can beat all the content currently available in a week, how much do you think any new content will last you? I mean, we have to assume that a game with 4 times the content this one currently has would only last you a month.
Or maybe someone that has seen this industry evolve from its outset and has recognized how irrelevant threads like this one are, as much as the people that grind a MMORPG at launch at exaggerated paces only to find themselves with nothing to do and a long wait ahead. They're in no shape or form representative of the majority of MMORPG players, and whether they stay or go is pretty much inconsequential.
Slapping some much needed realism in your face has nothing to do with working in PR, my friend. But do keep whining. It can be amusing in small doses, and the doses are quite obviously small compared to the hundreds of thousands that are playing the game without needlessly rushing and having fun.
There are opinions with which I don't agree, and opinions that simply don't make sense. This one is of the second kind.
But maybe you should tell that to the one that tried to discount my opinion by accusing me to be a a white knight or "PR" (lolz), because he has absolutely no arguments to logically counter it. But obviously you're not going to do that, because you happen to agree with his skewed view. Hypocrisy much? :D
That's most certainly your problem, not mine.
if this game was rocking even half as much as you imply your post wouldn't be supported by so few other posters, during the beta and early release you'd have at least 20-30 same minded poster parroting your words. there definitely is a decline My server has definitely reduced numbers (not just a few but noticeable amounts less players NOT MORE!)Quote:

some are expected to leave post free period like always in any game but the bleeding doesn't stop there and the lack of support your position is getting is another visible sign things are not all ice cream and sprinkles.

Oh Gee I wonder where OP went.
Can't believe it, this happens all the time in every place on the net where people populate and talk, and everyone always takes the bait. -sigh-
this topic is the prime example of why it's a bad idea on SE's part to restrict full forum access to people who have a lvl 50
it makes people who have a lvl 50 think they are the vast majority
To anyone leaving this game,
We'll see you in 6 months shouting in toll for an il100 dungeon with Darklight on and everyone going "lawl, Darklight"
If only this game was released with 2.1 patch....there wouldn't be so many complaints about things to do at level cap; they should have waited until 2.1 and released it then imo. Game feels...incomplete. I think a few of us are a bit tired of MMO devs doing the whole ploy of hoping people will continue to sub on a 'promise' of new content...as long as you keep paying. SWToR did the same thing and look how that turned out.
I like this game, I really do. I see the potential!
But I don't like the limited end game as of right now. Hopefulley 2.1 saves the day. If not, there is new MMOs on the way like TESO and EQ Next which look to actually break from the 'lets clone wow!' mentality that has plagued this genre for almost a decade.
Until then, I do my mythos cap...maybe run the DF for some gil then head on over to GW2 for the rest of the week so it's all good, right?
I see the problem is even if they had started the game with all that is in 2.1 in about two three weeks from now there would be people complaing about why its taking so long for the new version of what 2.1 would be. Probably with a post similar to yours about how they should have waited till that 2.1 content was added.
except that has not been true since Alpha. the percentage of the game "has no faults" has always been the great majority of the forum posters.
any thread which in any way criticizes the game is immediately swamped with "you don't know XXXX GTFO!" or "WTF are you talking about? the game has ...." ....etc....
this does not take a break when the game is live yet the amount of people who come to the games defense has dropped off considerably since the free period has ended.
I'm tempted to write down all the people bashing the game for lack of content and all the people defending the "lack of content issue." and see which group has more. I will be using it by users not number of posts. I have a feeling more people have disagreed with you than agreeing.
Or people just get tired of the same "this game is stupid and my opinion is the only valid one, if you disagree then your just a white knight/fanboy" threads and dont bother responding as much anymore. Reduction in forum defense posts does not really reflect game population....hell forum period doesnt, as a major portion of population rarely touch forums.
