It can be, in the case of some games, their preferred medium of communication completely as its less of an extension to moderate in house. Herd mentality is a human trait, millenia old. How it presents in digital format is irrelevant. It seems as if peoples dismissals, falls less inline with facts and more on how it stands with their own opinions. Which again, a human trait. The complaint against oversimplification being in many cases now, industry wide and spread across numerous independent forums alike, is testament to the fact that many share a dislike for it. If you think you can silence those voices to suit your own, then I suspect you are going to be disappointed on a fairly galactic scale.
