Game life unfortunately mimics real life and its not just 'some' its the majority. Racism, exclusion, sexism, ageism, etc. all still exist in the game and all you have to do is try to find a bond partner as a Roe or try to join certain fcs and see the chats and discords or sit in Limsa for a while to see what I'm talking about. Hell just look up a bit in the posts to see all the people who only want to 'date' certain races. (I mean it's the same as saying "It's all about the personality" when no one sees the personality at first sight let's just be real. Personality most likely seals the deal but just like a car it's the initial look of it that peaks your interest, the interior and performance is what seals the deal. I see LOTS of ageism. I am not young. People find out I am female and about how old I am and they "joke" and call me a MILF. They don't even know if I ERP or not. I have been playing for many years. Most people I meet in game and then we kind of migrate to Discord and remain friends there even if one of us moves to another world or data center. I am a lala. At least at the moment. I have been for months. I doubt I will change any time soon. If I go back to Vierra its because She has an appeal and yet her freckles makes her not that sexy look that everyone wants at the playboy mansion. I have my fun with changing races. Sometimes in the story line they say something like "long time no see, something's different about you" and I am thinking umm yeah. I changed my hair color yeah yeah..that's it... you shouldn't even recognize me since I changed races unless you can see my aether. haha"
And the Roe, they are large and in charge in my book. This Miqo'te is sleek and graceful of a cat that I admire. The intellectual Elvens stand tall. Just to name a few. I see all the races as something special. I don't have a preference on who hangs out with me. I don't have a preference on the shade of skin people choose for such races. Some do. As for the game, The warrior of light is not race specific. it is given to randoms to protect and save those who are weaker than him or herself. Its a gift and a curse.
People choose their looks for a reason. male, female, race, to fit a part. well, some do. depends on if you are doing it for the story line or for other reasons.
And yes, I have had m fair share of creepiness and being ditched by people I considered my friends. My umm.."thing" is, how people treat others and how they treat me if they will be a long standing friend. I am pretty laid back, funny and I have a thick skin but some things, I just won't tolerate.
I am one of those few you speak of. I am female. They aren't as rare as you think. There aren't as many as men, True. And there will be less and less if people don't start treating people decently. The ones who stick around like me, we just learned to survive and stay hidden. Play in the same safe crowds so the game is played how it was meant to be. it is sad some people are just straight up creepy. stalking others, lying, ghosting, making new discords and characters just to talk to others.
People have no clue who they are talking to, who they are segregating against when they say they only want a specific race. There are some wonderful people out there of all races, genders and skin tones. Some save your toons life everyday in game. But they don't seem to mind them doing that.
I know people who are bullied every day IRL at work and in school and just in life, who come here to be a hero and make real friends.
I know guys who play bad azz females who raid do static and aren't elitists. Who help anyone in need. (freaking lost my ending to this thread so I am winging it. thanks crome.)
You never know who is going to come across your path. Yoshi P made this game to everyone to enjoy who wants to enjoy it. It was not made to be a chore or a place to segregate. it was a place for fantasy and adventure, working as a team and enjoying the creativity of the story, graphics and each other.
You never know who you are missing out on as a friend or even more if you close off others because they decided to be a certain race or has to be a certain gender. in game or IRL.
I have to get back to work. it's not exactly what i said but well I am sure when the time comes, I will be saying more. Hopefully this opens up people's minds and hearts a little and remember what people are about. what FFXIV is about and maybe how to treat everyone a little better. We all have room for improvement. -

Made a character on Aether to be my new main since I don't want to spend money on a transfer. So I'm making a new (and better) post!

Willing to transfer? No! Unless transfers are free and my 90 preferred server days are up, then yes I will transfer within Aether only.
Personal Interests: Obviously gaming. The common things like music, anime. I also love nature, animals in general and morbid things (to an extent).
Play schedule: It varies. Usually anywhere from 9:00am to 2:00am until I find a new job.
What kind of gamer are you: Midcore? I play often and like raiding but I don't do Savage or anything (yet)

Goals for the game: I'm just looking to have an overall pleasant experience whenever I log in the game. Whether it be running roulettes, doing raids, leveling, or whatever, I just want to enjoy myself with someone who is like-minded.
Goals for the marriage union: Find my other half. I would like to find someone that I get alone with completely in game and out. No need to rush into the EB because I feel there is a lot that we need to know about one another before moving to the next step.
