Reinhart, why couldn't you be on Wutai :c
All I can give you is an internet high-fave (low-five, lalafel) and the appreciation of a humble Red Wizard!
I thank you, rainbow-colored subligar man, and you incredible powers of translation!

*sigh* I don't like the 99% thing one bit. It's less money you need, way too much ways to get your stuff repaired and from 1-100% you won't even feel a difference, turning dying (which should usually be avoided) into something that's not even a minor annoyance anymore. I thought the current system was good.
Oh well. I'll get used to it. :)
hahahha nice yoshsi!!! this is turning away from final craftasy to a actual final FANTASY. Yes i think repairs are good and needed do not scrap the system but holy crap how it is now you NEEDED to rank a craft. This needed to be easier for everyone. Now its fairly easy to repair and no stat weakness till 1%? thats awesome.
Plus repairs at all camps & crafters still needed for 100% in order to resell to others^^ Sounding great for sure :D Soooo much stuff in 1.19 lol can't believe how huge this patch is getting (even though was alrdy stated earlier by Yoshi the patch is going to be around 5x the size of 1.18 lol that's crazy awesome for only waiting 2 months!!!)
Thanks for all the work on the translations :)
I am in agreement with the repair and equipment degradation changes Yoshida-san relayed ^^
Thanks for the translations Reinheart ^.^
Really appreciate the great work you do for all of us :D
They may as well get rid of the repair system entirely if they're going to do this. It's like they're trying to make it irrelevant without getting rid of it.
Personally, I am SUPER excited about the repair changes. :D No longer will I have to wait around town or AFK trying to get my stuff repaired by crafters, yay! Did crafters really enjoy repairing THAT much? o.O You definitely aren't doing it for the money (as a lot of people simply offer the dark matter), and as someone who has repaired quite a few low level things for friends, it isn't a fun activity. In fact, it's annoying because you have to switch classes and mess with all the clunky menus (and it makes my 10 minute cooldown reset which is annoying if I'm repairing while doing leves with someone).
Now, you'll only need a crafter to repair if you want to save a little money or plan on selling the item (need 100% to sell or trade).
Hmmm ... don't want to read too much into this, but are they talking of adding G6 dark matter for r50+ equipment in 1.20 ? Hint to cap increase within next 6 months ?
What made you think that?
I wonder if we will be able to repair rings through NPC finally...
As someone who hates the current repair system I feel like I can live with the changes outlined in that post. IMO dying is a penalty enough because you didn't accomplish whatever you were trying to, but those changes will make it just a slap in the hands and I am willing to compromise to the point where I don't have to teleport to town and wait until I get repaired.
Bottomline: Don't rock the boat please! :D
With this they make the death penalty weak again.
I hope they rework the penalty a bit to make it strong again
Reinheart, I hope all went well in the hospital and you were able to take your kid home~
We need some of our other JP translators to step in when Rein is out taking care of business! Curious to know what Yoshi-p had to say. Help a brotha out...
I don't get this obsession with wanting a stiff penalty for death.
If the game is to be largely based on instanced content, as YP has said it will be, then death results in a large chunk of time lost.
If you wipe, you lose. That's it. Why does there need to be some additional salt in the wound on top of it?
These changes are great because the NPCs can make items functional, but only a crafter can make it sell-able. This is miles better for a wider audience than the system we had a year ago where most of your equipment would be useless after an hour of play.
SE has to keep up some level of quality. Rein doesn't. He simply gets the translations out as fast as possible. And that's cool with me, but not cool if SE did it.
We still get the important posts translated, but not the "I played some Street Fighter 4 today www" fluff.
SE is lucky FFXIV doesn't have to be a real market economy, even with the changes outlined in suffers from a few market failures. The biggest one being asymmetrical information, but this one is just due to laziness on the buyers part, so he/she would never know what it cost to make since they don't craft and don't look it up. Its ok though its an mmo market, not a real one! But thanks for the translation again, I feel like i must stop by once a week and tell you how awesome you are for this!
Think he just made another mega-post, or added to one anyway. Should be interesting!
To help reinheart out the last message he hasn't translated has been translated by dev.

There has been a smaller post after it.

I wonder what is said here about October?
It felt unrelated to the rest of the post talking about job opportunities, but this statement piqued my interests.Quote:
10月には吉田の序文も記載した上で、全面リニューアル予定ではありますが、
弊社人事部にも協力して貰って、FFXIVスタッフ募集の簡易ページを公開しました。
Continuation regarding FPS

That one is regarding job positions available for FFXIV they didn't have a page for FFXIV staff job openings so although Yoshida has a plan to make renewal to that page with his message he asked the company's other division to have that page made with current job openings. I posted little bit in there after YoshiP posted that from the hospital and he responded to me, was happy to see it just few minutes ago lol (just turned on the PC when I started translating and didn't get through all the dev posts)
Even if I can't get in SE directly his comment made me happy :D
This one is regarding optimum level colors coming up with the UI change, JP people has both sides; people that likes it and people that don't like it at all. Here's YoshiP's response to Syn's comment.

Reinhart, you need to work for them! You have the very rare talent of translation. Don't you live in Hawaii? Isn't there a gigantic Square office there? :)
All the best.
The job hiring one is all based in Tokyo so passing translation on that one; this one however i missed it so I'll translate it :) thanks for reminding me this one is good info.
Nah used to live in Hawaii, moved there after moving from Japan. Now living with wife + 2 kids in California :) they got SE office here too, been trying out whenever job position was available for years got one job interview and test with them after trying but failed (can see why now) YoshiP's response to my comment yesterday made me smile so that's enough for me for wanting to join SE.
Wait... it's not subligar!?!?!!?
This one is regarding auto-mapping (first paragraph translated explains it)

Skipping this one: http://goo.gl/AFRfA
Just basically explains what the NA rep already posted about the new requirements to enter Totorak and DH 2-4 / 4-8 JP side didn't have a response for it :) the thread title is asking for Solo for Totorak but they are ok with 2-4 i guess :)

God, I really hate how they're taking a step back sometimes.
I don't get the whole appeal of auto-mapping... Is it that hard to imagine that our characters walk around with a world map? I just find it annoying that I'll now have to walk to places I don't give a rats ass about just for the sake of completion.
