When you look at it, it's probably just a case where SE had some idea of how much currency they wanted generated and felt that the adjustments I mentioned in my previous post would deviate too greatly from that. I don't think it was an agenda against BST either. I think they just have a tendency to yield to the demands of the worst of the community but almost always do so in a way that generally leaves no one happy about the outcome. It's hard to say if this is intentional or not, but it is infuriating at times.
