While ostensibly this new patch reduced Repair Costs (which is great), you've secretly ninja patched INCREASED WEAR on our equipment in Dungeons! :mad: :(
Why?
This makes you come across as insincere and dishonest: Reducing the NPC Prices to Repair, but Increasing Wear & Tear Rate is netting the same expensive "gil sink" result as before.
I did 1 run of Castrum Meridiunum (no deaths) with 100% Repaired gear. At the end of the run, I lost 20 - 25% Gear Durability! :mad:
I checked with my FC mates, and they all confirmed their gear is wearing out far faster than before the patch. We tested it out again, with runs in Ampador Keep and it's the same thing. Gear wears out faster.
Please keep the lower Repair Costs *and* revert to the SLOWER Gear Damage / Wear Rate. Thanks!

Or make running these dungeons slightly offset the cost of repairs. We should be rewarded for running dungeons, not punished. I've got all the loot I need from AK, all I need is 8 runs a week for myth...But I'm punished for being dedicated to the game. Do they want me to subscribe? Doesn't feel like it.

I don't see what the problem is. You guys act like you don't have any gil whatsoever... You should have at least 300k just from leveling unless you fate grinded from 1-50 which would have been a bad idea. You also act like you don't get anything from runs either. Which is totally untrue. Go do something other than grind fates or dungeons mindlessly and you will see gil is NOT an issue.

Just have the gw2 system of it gets badly worn when you die, like 20% or something. Also gives people an incentive to not being morons in dungeons and coordinate to avoid stupid deaths.

The gear degrade rate hasn't changed.
You're just fighting more than 3 bosses now. You're fighting a good maybe 60 or 70+ mobs to get to the bosses.

I wonder how many people would now take exp loss for dying rather than durability loss even when you don't die. Exp is far easier to come by than gil anyway.

What really amazes me is that people think it is perfectly reasonable to have to swap gear just to keep it from wearing out. The "Use it and wear it out" system is really pretty bad. Gear wearing out from death is acceptable, as it is more a punishment for failure rather than an added price to play the game. Some people here would defend an S-E decision if they were going to come to your house and steal your silverware.
I like the game, but it sure as heck isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread. These are realistic complaints, stop trying to shut people down just because you think S-E can do no wrong. The fact that we have ARR at all is proof that isn't true. -

"SE we need afk timer so i can login!" "SE i dont like being booted for being afk!" "my gear wears too fast now" "i can't make money only grinding endgame content" "SE can you do maintenance when i'm sleeping and it's inconvenient for you?" "SE the CNJ guild quests are too hard" "SE my character has no butt!"
Like seriously alot of the threads i see just make me laugh, people want a challenge then cry because it's "too hard", want a feature for something they themselves found a workaround for then complain once all their threads have been heard. The game really isn't that hard, i did the CNJ quests drunk and in nothing but "heat resistant" armor <.<. if your gear is wearing "too fast" then lvl the craft that can repair it. I would rather have server stability than have them waste time tweak/retweaking armor durability... -

So as I see it Amdapor is now:
+500~1,000g (depending Ilvl)
+80 Philo
+40 Mythic
45~60min clear time

I can't bear to keep repairing my gear and crafting has less emphasis in v2 anyway - I hear other people can't repair your gear now?? I don't know how much easier a game could be. sure the gil issue IS an issue. the merchants should be aware of the market trends and subtract a % depending how far away you are from one of the three market locations. there are many ways to make money in the game and not dying as in FFXI and losing points... sometimes de-lvl'ing!!! I almost cried the first time that happened! lol wear and tear is normal - i've got holes in my jeans - a patch or thread is going to set me back a couple of bucks - but I do agree with OP - I got hit with a 3,800gil repair bill after lvl 50 Ifirit fight! So yeah, I can earn money by farming, but the repairs do seem steep. peace.
