Yeah I bought the win with the 73k I had in that screenshot.

Correct.
The fact that they're even considering it now is pretty good, yet people are complaining here.
I really don't understand why people are complaining when the development team have already confirmed that "We're working on plans for old redundant content such as BCoB"
Popular Server.
I don't see what it has to do with the topic at hand?
Having random hours =/= not having much time. I have done all content there is but SCoB (never attempted due to reasons mentioned earlier in the thread) and Ramuh Ex cuz reasons (I think I haven't even unlocked this. I might try some day). Also, in every MMO I played there was a lot of stuff you could do solo, and nearly all the rest you could do with random people gathered off the bat. FFxiv is the first one I play where you can't make progress if you don't find 7 other people who happen to have the same play time as you.

I shouldn't have to sit for 2 hours or more doing nothing before I can even attempt something. Well in fact I should be able to play a reasonable amount of these 2 hours doing the content. Which I can't, because once, again, no static and stuff. I do not even complain about that. I'm fine waiting till it's open to randoms in DF. Just let me have a loot-less fight to :
1) enjoy the content and the story gated behind these stupid lockouts
2) have the time to gather a team of 8 and play instead of watching the sea in Mist waiting desperately for the PF to fill.
I won't bother you, promise, just want to enjoy what the game wants to give me but the stupid static/PF requirements refuse me
This is not. Since SE added major storyline (Carteneau Battle's end) behind it. CT is separate content. Coil isn't.
just from first 20 comments, before the drama started. The people complaining the most aren't the ones you think
You're right, that was a little harsh. The point more was "if you downed Twintania -that fast- I strongly suspect you had a lot of help from people who cleared it already". I beat Rafflesia in a single session and Melusine after a week of raiding but I don't claim I have some sort of superior skills, because I know I owe it in part to the four or five T9-experienced players also in the group who advised, guided, and aided me through it.
I pointed this guy out to my buddies in TK (an Excal guild) and they said that in general the average skill level is a fair bit higher there (makes sense, lots of XI and 1.xx vets). So maybe he's just gotten used to it and thinks such extraordinary skill level is the norm?
They're already adding this, please read the last live letters translation notes.
The development team are very aware content will become redundant and people won't want to do it anymore, whether this is a story mode or not who knows, they did state they'd let people either solo or go in smaller parties (or custom parties),
TL;DR They are adding something like this already, it's been confirmed. I don't know why you're crying about it here.
You can read the original post if you want but its arbitrary to my actual point.
This is where the self-indulgent problem comes in "I feel I'm important enough that they HAVE to fit around my schedule and needs".
The story was designed for the people who wanted to do raid content, we can't have everything we want in life by kicking and screaming for it.
There is plenty of content in the game besides BCoB to enjoy, just because you don't have the time doesn't mean it HAS to be added.
But as I've already mentioned, perhaps I need to emphasise it to get the point across ;
"THEY ALREADY HAVE PLANS TO ADD THIS, I DONT KNOW WHY YOU'RE STILL DISCUSSING IT, PLEASE READ THE LAST LIVE-LETTER"
It IS separate content, as the developers have even stated on numerous occasions, The Binding Coil of Bahamut is raiding content, designed to be a challenge for the players who want to try out the most difficult content in the game (with a reward for doing so), that was its design and intention.
The reason CT/Praetorium/Primals/Dungeons/Dailies/Roulletes are separated content is to give a balance (as Yoshi-P has touched on may times) between Hardcore and Casual game content.
The developers want to strike a balance, but this requires time. Adding in THREE different tiers for content is a lot of work and a lot of time spent, which is why it's BEING DONE IN THE FUTURE AND NOT NOW.
You simply need to be patient and WAIT FOR IT TO BE ADDED.
It takes more than two players to carry an entire group through T5.
At the end of the day, people who consider themselves casuals have had no issues clearing T5, especially after the echo buff was added.
Players who consider themselves terrible at the game are able to beat this turn, it really isn't that difficult.
Considering the game already hands absolutely everything over to you, it's nice to have some integrity of difficulty or challenge.
Yes. My static had a few hours of practice before Me, Piz and Cres merged with that static for the kill. The same people in our static were the ones screwing us over and we wanted the kill before they nerfed the fight. So in total I spent about 6 hours in turn 5 before my first kill.Quote:
"more capable players for 2 statics", sounds like most of them had already had a fair bit of exp on T5...
The elitism is strong in this game...
I am a big fan of what Blizzard did with tiered raiding. Elitists still have their hard modes, and casual folks can enjoy the story. It doesn't have to be a dropless run, but the ilevel can be a lot lower than the normal and hard modes drop. It works great over there. Don't add echo buffs to normals and hards. Just have a duty finder tiered difficulty level that pugs can reasonably be expected to get through.
Another case of something SE could learn from what other developers have already been through.
That's the thing, the troubles most people are having here are basic mechanics, or that they simply don't have enough time to learn the mechanics.
People who can't dodge, silence or follow the basic flow of the fight can be fixed over time, but some people don't want to wait.
As for the ones who don't have enough time, there's no real remedy for that besides stripping the fight bare and making it a zerg-fest like CT.
They'd have to completely redesign the fight in order to accommodate this.
That's why it would be a nightmare for them to currently focus on, which is why they're not doing it just yet but are simply planning it for now.
You're just gonna have people telling you that's not Coil story now. ; ;

Still going huh guys? Can't we all just get along?
http://calibermag.org/wp-content/upl...ge47o1_250.gif
We are talking about coil? Like I said, the elitism is strong in this game. Take a breath - nothing will be taken away from you if someone else gets to experience a story at a lower difficulty level. Absolutely nothing. T5 is probably the best example of a fight that just adding echo to doesn't help the less skilled player out in anyway - one guy can wipe the whole group with a divebomb despite echo, and you can't recover from it. So what they did to "help" the community didn't actually "help" anyone clear it.
And gosh it's ancient content, why do you even care?
Unless they make content with 0 cutscenes or tie-ins whatsoever someone's going to call everything "story content". HM and EX primals are story content because they attach a quick quest to unlock them. Hey, even Frontlines is story content, let's make that easier to win too huh? ;)
That's what youtube is for. I apologize for my elitist views that are imprisoning you from the loot at the end of the pixel internet dragon that was made to be downed by i80-85 players at an average i110 raid. Also you can definitely survive divebomb swoops at this level, it's pretty comedic.
My condolences.
PS: read more than one line of a post: "Not the same area or storyline, but to a degree, their answer to your need."
T5 as an example :
get rid of twister, make DS not apply the heal debuff, reduce the damage of fireball by 1/3rd. story version that should take about less time than new dubbed down mechanics to create and really low investment on players to clear to enjoy the story. Would even be possible to make it for 2.4 to give access to all to SCoB when TCoB comes if needed
(inb4 the flame : this is obviously overly exagerated )
idk, to me it sounds like a long version of an Ex primal :
=> rushes (dives)
=> fireballs that hurt
=> minor adds dps check (conflag with echo eased y the fireball change, DK, snakes. Could nerf snakes as well)
=> minor big hits (DS nerfed)
=> ONE OH-KO (the wall)
=> an enrage
"do me a favor and watch all CS of the next game you like instead of buying it to enjoy it yourself". That's about how idiotic you sound
point ?
To be fair, you edited that in after my quote. I quoted your post and responded to what was there. There is no reason to have such an attitude, but this is a prime example of why folks are fleeing from this game. The community is one of the most toxic I have ever seen, and this is coming from someone who played during the height of the alleged toxicity of WoW.
You have managed to give me a perfect segue. http://youtu.be/sZrgxHvNNUc
I really don't see what you lose. Development time as earlier mentioned. Or how about we do like other MMOs and not give you any story as to why you're going through. There, we've solved the problem. No story for future raids.
How are you fleeing from raids in a game where you haven't even raided?
Or are you just triggered that you have yet to clear turn 5 and have nothing to add but the term toxic or elitist?
You will not be missed.

Oh, the comprehension is strong in this one... I said fleeing from the game, not the raids. Most folks here know I haven't cleared T5. In fact, I'm one of those unfortunate folks who has been through it enough times that I'm educating others on mechanics, but PF groups tend to fall apart after one or two wipes and I've just not hit that magical group that sticks together to the end. It happens, and I've never complained. However...
I'd appreciate a story mode, as my ego does not require me to attempt to make others feel badly because of their lack of success in a video game (especially without knowing their story). I am actually successful in real life.
So again, you really should stop with the attitude. I don't know what triggered your rage, but it's inappropriate.
So i can t beat FF13 boss ; ; can i have story mode pls ?
You may yet get your wish OP.
Yoshida has been trying to avoid leaving dead content. Eventually, most people will clear Coil and won't want to keep going back.
At that point in time, Yoshida will have to decide on how he will handle Coil.
There is a storyline there and I know some people will want to experience it.
I don't know how Yoshida will handle the situation but your suggestion may be a possible sollution.
Jesus friggin' Christ. Guy gives a suggestion that doesn't hurt no one and peoples got their guns ready...All you have to do is do the normal coil if you don't want the story one.
Not that hard people. No ones going to get hurt, just optional. Calm down.
Hahah screw development time.
Need I mention Personal housing had 9 months to develop and look what they give us?
Okay, I've come up with a new solution!
Next relic upgrade makes you do different points of DF Coil at different times.
That way, those of us who suck (like me) get put into parties with people who've never heard of buffs before.
...what? I'm finding getting tomes from trials pretty quick now.
