@Casuals , do you think the message has gotten through?

Deep Dungeon and Variant Dungeon will have queue systems as well to be visited and completed as well for both normal and savage mode, and make sure the log entry for Variant is completed when the dungeons are complete as well for them to be more accessible and people can replay them constantly for their rewards. This is for all variants.

Make Fate points less for grinding instead of accumulating up to 60 battlers per each purple fate batch to upgrade rewards in each Shadowbringers, Endwalker, and Dawntrail zone.
Make less for ten per each purple badge up to all 5 you need per zone to unlock rewards to make it more approachable and easier to grind.
Make special FATE bosses appear as frequently as S ranks in all zones. and announce them in the chat as you announce the maintenance notices every time. This will help people to be focus and also active waiting for them to appear in case content feels repetitive so they can have something else to do while exploring, grinding, or treasure hunting, etc.

This will help the community to unite more between veterans, raiders, and casuals, and incentivize people to do all content instead of just focusing in raiding or casually playing the game. people will feel more curious about it.

I have a bunch of friends that meet up for like an hour or two once a week to clear even criterion savage so the argument about time holds no water. If you want to clear stuff quickly you need more time but that doesn't mean it can't be done without a large time investment every day/week. Either way you have to spend time to clear content whether it's what I mentioned, the moon base thing, etc. Either you invest the time to get the rewards or you don't that's the difference. I REALLY dislike PVP in this game so I never touch it but that's my decision so I just don't get those rewards and I don't complain about it being here or not getting them.

Now Occult Crescent. Make the atma materials drop easier, as also the soul shards for the phantom jobs. If you accumulate atma stones or phantom job shards that you already have learned or mastered, allow for them to be exchanged for materials for the occult crescent gears or for silver or gold pieces. Society or allied tribes. Please allow for all of them to have missions for battle, gathering and crafting available so all players can have access to all of them through their story with of course, different rewards accordingly to the class you use. ( Battler, Gathering or Crafting) that way will incentivize people to do all of them as well. To be more approachable for all playerbase.

Please make The Firmament, Cosmic Exploration, also available for battle jobs, with different rewards as well. This opens the possibility for cooperative missions with crafters and gatherers, like protective details to help them progress around the planets; that could be cool as well.

Garlemald needs to be a restoration content that allows both battle jobs and crafting and gathering as content. to finally sign a peace treaty and put and end to the war between races and people.

This Expansion could have promise all this content at my point of view.

Choosing the moon, etc. over Garlemald for the restoration content was definitely a choice that I'll never understand. Should we help rebuild people's homes, etc. or some bored loporits which do they even have souls? lol

Balancing for range DPS, and healers DPS needs to improve to be at least equal to casters. The fact they don't do it due to their functionality is laughable.
DOTS and Buffs should all do the same 5%, so when they join together, it's up to 10% increase on stats, and should all combine together when raiding or doing PVE content for it represent at least 10 to 15% of all parties damage in the game, balancing DPS Damage to be similar between classes for a better way to equalize job performance.

This one is just my opinion; you can criticize, add, or disagree with me. Sorry for the long opinion here, but this is, in my opinion, just ways they can fix the game. This is just one player's opinion, not an expert's, and does not need to be taken into consideration. If what I have said touches you and you like it, you can add and share it. If not, it is okay; you can provide your opinion. I am just interested in the well-being of this game. You can also correct me if I am wrong; it is okay. I hope these opinions I gave are of help in supporting the community feeling regarding FFXIV's condition, and devs can see this and listen to all of us and not just a few.

Shame on my fellow Savage raiders in this thread making people challenged by MSQ dungeons, normal raids, or alliance raids feel bad. There are plenty of people who struggle with mechanics in these places. I know. I play a healer. I see them get clipped or run right into an AoE or what have you all the time. I don't come here whining that they get clipped. I heal them because that's my job. I pick them up off the floor because that's my job. In 11 years of healing, I can name on a single hand the number of times where it was obvious someone just wanted to be carried. All the other times I could see people truly trying.

I was so angry when I had a new person in M5N who was dying a lot because they were NEW and they apologized for being a burden and said we could kick them because they kept messing up. We all assured them that it was not a problem and we wanted them there. But shame on many of you in this thread. You're where that mentality is coming from. You're the ones making them feel like a burden and like they aren't wanted. I don't want them in my Savage parties but they're not in my Savage parties. They're in the content that is made for them to enjoy. I want them to feel welcome even if they are less than perfect. Because they're doing content where it doesn't matter if they are. We can cover and muddle our way through.

My fellow Savage raiders need to learn to stay in our lane. That content is not meant to challenge us. It challenges the players that it's meant to challenge. You do realize you just compared what you call 'casual' against something SE named 'Savage.' The fact you cannot pick it up and complete it on *your* time and have to accommodate 3 others (edit: and 'marry' them through the whole process, no way to easily solo it, as said, more people have epic hero than Necromancer/Lone Hero/Queen titles) to complete it with *any* semblance of ease makes it not casual friendly, please don't compare what you want to call casual with content named "Savage."

I don't care about extreme, savage, ultimate, chaotic, nonsensical, pointless, or w/e the harder content is named. Fill them with body checks every 10 seconds, have the AEs leave only 8 pixels of safe space in a 300 square feet arena, give the boss a bazillion HP - I don't care. When someone enjoys that sort of content: great, more power to you.
But FFS leave the MSQ content alone. This is the story mode of a story driven MMO. There's no need to make it unplayable for people that are here for the story, not to be challenged by stuff beyond their capabilities. If there was a switch in the settings to remove all trials from the MSQ, I would happily press it and never again deal with this stuff.

Its sad really, because at this point - and going by my own experience - there are players who probably would follow that poor player's suggestion and try to kick them. Trust me, it does NOT feel nice to be vote-kicked from an instance because "your DPS was too low".

I've encountered players like that too - in fact, had a WHM in roulette run of 'Final Steps of Faith' a few days ago who kept apologising for dying (and needless to say we assured them that they were absolutely fine and didn't need to apologise) - and I think I feel a more profound sympathy for them because I was in their shoes once - and to some degree still am considering how difficult I find the newest content.

The worst element of it is that the type of player who would make a newbie/struggling player feel like they're a burden are the sort of person who is most probably only there to obtain their daily tome drop and lack the self-awareness or empathy to see past their own wants.

One guy was rude and called people NPCs, most of us were just saying that a large portion of the game is focused for casual people. If you are being challenged by MSQ dungeons, alliance raids and normal raids then you're not starving for content.

I disagree, you don't need everything to be Savage or Ultimate difficulty to challenge players. Strayborough's first boss didnt have super hard mechs or dps checks and it was an okay challenge for an end-game dungeon.

I backread and saw someone unironically call Unreal "higher difficulty". That shows me how screwed this thread is. If you can't handle DT dungeon design (still very free and easy), that is a you problem. Same for raids. "But muh sub" - FFXV had several people give up too because they sucked at the game. So did some of the people dying on the infamously bad bossfight in KH1. They paid for those games, but they can't be expected to get coddled at the expense of literally everyone else.

This dungeon, and especially the first boss, is literally the first time in my whole 10 years of XIV history I have seen people consistently complaining about it WITHIN the dungeon itself. At least half of my runs had someone getting pissed by this boss specifically.

As someone who's raided for a long time, I absolutely loathe luigi's mansion. It just sucks.

I find it funny you think I am implying I don't want social interactions or even want to attempt that content solo. That isn't the case. I'm forced to do it solo because no 'casual' buddies of mine will stick through two bad sessions. After 15hrs invested, and little reward and still two floor sets away from the prize really demotivates quite a few people, sadly. The issue isn't about the social aspect, it's finding others dedicated enough to actually tackle the challenge floors and 'progress' through them, which means you might not clear it the first few times, so buckle up and get ready to spend 30hra of your life learning floor 181-200 of potd since one wipe means restarting from the start (or 51 if you choose to skip 5 of the 20 duties this challenge has)

Imagine a savage raid, but you 'need' to stick with the same people the whole time to keep your prog points, replace one person is a huge liability in the higher floors if the new recruit isn't in sync with your group or didn't study that cone of the mammoth isn't a cone but a 180 cleave and wipes your party.

No worries, it's content most don't touch, and the' story' floors are mainly what most of the player base actually does. It's quite difficult to find people who understand the lethality of the higher floors who actually will do them with you, for the points I have said in this thread.

Not many 'casuals' will have the dedication to learning those higher floors, even some raiders in my FC won't touch DDs because of how easy the first 60% of the floors are. You don't even need a tank (or kite if a DPS running solo) until floor 151 (potd) or floor 61 (HoH/EO), so quite a few players feel the rest of the floors are as easy as the story floors, or just slightly harder. So, when your party wipes on a mob that starts two shotting your DPS and healer, the group falls apart because they were led to believe this content was 'easy' only to get smacked around on the final two floor sets because everybody underestimates 'challenge floors.' :eek:

It made me think Dawntrail was gonna get more creative with it's boss designs on expert dungeons, but people endlessly and angrily complained about it, so here we have our dull target dummies instead.

You're one of the people who needs to read my post the most. Between this thread and your behavior in the Forked Tower threads and calling people parasites. You are completely out of touch with normal players. And you look down your nose at anyone who can't play a video game as well as you do. If you don't want to get the dirt of the "lessers" on you, then people like you should stick to your special flower premade groups and leave the people like me to guide and support them in roulettes and other content. The issue with Stayborough was that bullet-hell mechanics are AWFUL in this game because they are far ahead of where they appear to be. I don't have an issue with challenges in dungeons, but bullet-hell should be shelved until they can figure out how to not make the snapshots on them awful. As someone who does savage/ulti casually (no, im not a hardcore raider. I raid like 6 hours a week), this didn't challenge me in a "wow this is difficult and interesting" way, but in a "wow this is actually bullshit" way.

To rephrase this, it wasn't challenging, it was simply unfair and unfun. I can dodge orbs, but when they are like a whole yard of where they appear to be on good ping, its kinda just wtf.

It wasn't just unfair and unfun because the boss actually was designed to also make fun of you after your get hit. The add just grabs onto you and you can't do anything for ages while it carefully puts that AoE over your head, taking its sweet sweet time to hit you with it before letting you go (alive or dead). Losing complete control and agency of one's character is generally one of the worst thing you could design in a game, and it feels even worse when the game actually makes fun of you while doing it.

I feel like this stuff would have been infuriating either way, but people would have been a lot less mad about it without that middlefinger you get once you fail the mechanic.

I'd usually ignore the blatant generalizations, but I feel the need to say that as long as people are trying, I'm more than willing to help. But if someone uses Cure I at level 100, and don't stop after being told that's bad, that is very much a them problem, and they deserve ridicule. Trying is key in general.

That's why the snipers in FT suck. They don't try to actually put in the effort in organizing and spreadsheeting and pulling their weight.

There's plenty of people in this thread who think not trying is an okay position to have, and it's not while you're playing with others. Literally pressing 1 button with 100% GCD uptime would be better than some of the level 100s I see with like 50% downtime. Not doing anything for half the time is griefing and wasting people's time.

So yeah, I will argue that those people do not need to be catered to. Those who wanna try will try. But for those who keep using the game's mediore but passable explanations as an excuse, we should force a mandatory UI-adjustment prompt early on. Many bad players flail around not reading debuffs and casts but instead of asking how to increase their visibility, they just continue to be a liability.

That said, Strayborough was okay. It's just a really fun dungeon.

It's always amusing to read all those reactionary takes on dungeons and casual content. Pulling weights, wasting people's time. I do genuinely wonder why do you people care so much? Are you having such a miserable time playing the game that wasting a couple of minutes is infuriating? Why are you running the content in the first place if you hate it so much? Why do you get mad at people that are just there to chill and still complete the content just fine? Why don't you focus more on your own sweaty gameplay?

Is it a problem that the content doesn't ask more than Cure 1 or whatever nonsense? Sure. Probably.

But this ain't savage chief.

Crowd control can feel very frustrating when there is an overabundance of it, but that's absolutely not comparable to this boss at all. No stun in pvp lasts more than 2-3s, and you're free. You also have multiple tools to deal with it and nullify crowd control. You also have tactical agency whether or not you want to burn your tools to get rid of said cc if you consider that they're not immediately threatening.

I feel this comparison is extremely misinformed.

I can see how the first boss of Strayborough could be frustrating if you're playing at high ping, but outside of that from what I've seen people usually get snatched when they try to greed a cast or some uptime. You have to prioritize getting out of the way of the little runners first.

Crowd control in FL was a hot topic in 6.X with people asking for caps on the number of players it hit and/or an immune period after each hit, but the 7.2 changes ameliorated it somewhat and players who worry about such things have got better at positioning with the new ranges.

it is going the DT way, with tremendous of things... TACO groceries and more... and the content such as Forked Tower among other stuff only favor the top 1% elite people....

No they are not listening but running their own train wreck into the abyss.

Yeah I've seen plenty of fairly casual players who don't run savage or ex do it and prog fine. As long as your are capable of joining a discord server you are capable of entering and giving it a try.
