Thank you for proving my point that no matter if someone actually provides constructive feedback or not, it will always get denied by the white knights of this forum, including you of course.
Off to ignore you go

Lol I complained everytime I had something to complain about but to your state of mind if someone isn’t ONLY complaining they must be a white knight, this is just black and white thinking.
Sorry, I too should only make unhinged “wah wah” posts from now on
We can still sub and think 90% of the game is boring garbage today. What other non-unique, copy/pasted retorts you got? At least give them to me in the form of a meme, because I'm not very entertained right now. This isn't good content. lol
You all say we should be playing other games most of the time, so I'm doing just that.
Maybe I need to reward you for reading my messages, it'll keep you engaged and give me more entertainment value.
Good job! You made it to the bottom of the message, you earn..

Lmao I already shit on the game a lot, you don't need to help me do that, and I already know you have 0 answer of having "plenty of content". It's not my fault that the answer you would've given me sucks, I already suggested things that would at least be reasonable within the "plenty to do in the game despite being at the endgame". That shit takes forever to do. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You provided suggestions? I legit only ever see you fight/make fun of other users who don't share your point of view. Which the only thing I know about your point of view is you don't like the game.
But I also don't live on these forums (I only read these when I have free time at work) so of course I may have missed these suggestions of yours.
Oh, that was not what we were looking for. Not enough entertainment value I'm afraid!
Better luck next time!

It would be difficult to balance if my full recollection is to be there. On one hand of the coin, you could limit the usage per craft. But in doing this you would then make it difficult to balance around what changes you would need to make with experts, e.g., turning it into net positive buffs to net loss, e.g., instead of Pliant decreasing CP cost, you would increase the CP cost of the subsequent action. Honestly, with enough time on the system, it just bleeds together where you do steps according to a pretty rigid ruleset to dictate how you handle the crafts. After 2-3 attempts it's not immediately obvious, but if you were doing it on the scale of Resplendent Tools or Hand of Creation then it does very quickly come together.
I suppose it would add a degree of self-satisfaction to learning it, but when you got to a certain point the end result was guaranteed regardless of how much you necked your stats, which does also remove some of that thrill with doing experts in the first place. I would be curious to see how it would hold in actuality, but I still think it would largely trivialize the recipes. Trained Hand under innovation and ingenuity back when that was a thing was absolutely busted.
I can't speak much on it, but I would say given the choice I would have stuck with the removal, but delayed it until after the first release of Experts, and then removed it for either redesigning or reworking to a system designed to work exclusively with experts, e.g., give expert recipes their own little toolkit. Rather than just attempt-limit the recipes. Even with infinite attempts, someone skilled enough could do them far more efficiently than you might do with traditional experts.
I have already gone on to say that systems ideally shouldn't be removed until they have been tested. But then I'm also the same person that thinks Guildhests have so much potential.
Uh, yes and no. They should still encourage people to improve, but that is always difficult as forcing people into those situations does not always yield the best result e.g., you cannot force someone to learn if they do not want to – You can only encourage it.
I’m going to bring a little bit of personal experience here now, but when I’ve had difficulty, e.g., Sophia NM, or Shinryu NM on patch, my experiences with them were, someone got it for roulette, literally sat down in the instance and proceeded to hold everyone else hostage, requesting that they were kicked to avoid the penalty. This occurred after 2 wipes. Granted, I think there's a miniscule number of people that would go this far. However, I would say there’s a good number of people in the community that whilst they may want something engaging don’t necessarily want the territory that comes with it e.g., people not being good enough for said content and more wipes, which is an inevitability when you introduce harder or more sophisticated content to the general community.
Honestly, this is precisely the reason why beyond a certain point, areas of content should be dropped for the time being, e.g., exploratory zone/relic content. Again, I personally don’t think they’re ready to do the innovation on it as such should try something new. Until they can. If I were being frank, I wouldn’t want to have seen another Deep Dungeon until they could transform it into actual dungeoneering.
Preventing it is impossible, but in the case of a deep dungeon they literally ran into it unmitigated, and the community practically begged for it. I suppose what I’m trying to convey here is… The question shouldn’t be “Why haven’t we got xyz this expansion” (e.g., Deep Dungeons), because this is precisely why we got Orthos.
The problem is criterion is a failure in terms of rewards. Relic grind is not a grind its basically Hildibrand story with tomestone dump. Deep dungeon doesnt do anything to shake up the norm in terms of content. Island sanctuary is a farming simulator that doesnt promote group content and people are hoping it helps with housing issues which so far it hasnt.
Most expansions we have had some sort of extra content---> Diadem, Eureka, Bozja.
Since we dont have that this expansion we are heavily dependent on savage and extreme content. And that is why this expansion feels flat.
Island Sanctuary is also very bad at being a farming simulator. There is no real purpose, no gameplay loop which is enough on it's own to keep players interested. No greater goal. The whole farming is just a time gate for the island shop. Once you have bought everything there is no reason to ever set foot onto your island again.
We're all on the FFXIV forum, I'd imagine we're pretty sad already. lol
Yeah but you always have a choice. You can complain as much as you want, we all do, but if ALL you put your energy into is complaining about a game you dislike so much since a year or more and see no change going in the direction you’d like, then why not spend your time on the forums of the games you DO like? A choice to surround yourself with things that do you good vs things that clearly don’t.
I understand complaining but being here 24/7 ONLY complaining sounds like a weird self destructive addiction and this isn’t necessarily referring to you, as were neither of my original posts on this thread.
Hey look, the narcissist decided to read what anyone else has to say for once. It’s a forum, meaning everything is up for discussion and I, like many others that unfortunately have left this forsaken place, do NOT want to see this game turn into an Aveyond wet dream, so sorry devil man, my business is right here.
Even know I am enjoyed this battle between Stormpeaks, R041 and SassyAssassin, I think yall have a point......to a degree
Constructive feedback is fine, in fact it is very necessarily in anything we do from going for new job or improving this game, both in the sense of your own gameplay to all of the things they added thought out the years...as long you actually did the content for it and not just spitball it or just trashing it for no apparent reason at all plus willing to give a proper reasons why it does not work and any solutions they might want to come up to better your experience. But remember what you like or recommend, maybe somebody else will not like it for different reasons but need to be respected. Same thing with White Knight as well, it is okay to White Knight as long you understand that everybody might not share your opinion but atleast willing to listen to them and maybe it will give you a better understand about it. It probably change your perspective about something that you might not even know about.
I been in this game for almost nine years now and that does not even count my time in 1.0, there is alot of things this game can get better from better job adjustments to even more customizations (third party apps has show it can be done) and maybe better graphic and UI too, maybe more lore and story as well. But it is those imperfections that make a good MMO great like how Warcraft and EverQuest great because they will always continue to improved their games even know they might have way worst than FF right now and their fanbase probably wants more as well or having constructive feedback about it (how long it took Blizz to start have cross factions guilds?). If you do not like it, just say why and if you like it, just say why as well. Let me be after that. Because at the end of day, it is our own opinions and each player will have to find their own answers about that.
If Yoship cannot even be bothered to play content as riveting as Island Sanctuary himself, as he has stated per his own words he hasn't touched it on his personal account, then I see no reason as to why I should subject myself to it before I can criticize something with flaws that glaringly obvious.
The same goes for many other things.
I'm not here 24/7, I take pretty significant breaks for months at a time. You just caught me on a good day where I want to meme for entertainment. For some reason you feel the need to fight against the meme.
If the forums are always like this, it's not because of me. It seems to be a consistent issue then.
https://i.imgur.com/aL9cIL2.png
Then you dont have to! Nobody forcing you to do Island Sanctuary and it will not affected me any way, shape and form but before you want to criticize the heck out it, just explain the reason why you don't want to it or don't say nothing at all.
At the end of the day, we can give opinions about what you should do or why we like or dont like this but the customer that is paying 12 - 16 per month is the final say and they will come up with their own opinion (FYI I like Island Sanctuary because it remind me of that stupid isle on the MOP that I can enjoyed plus I like farming sims)
Not many people care that Island Sanctuary itself exists, I've finished it, I have the bike, all glam.. I can give you a full list of changes I want for it..
But the ultimate issue is that it took away something monumental for the coop casual community, and that was Exploratory Missions. Something you can properly play as a multiplayer game, something that forces us to communicate as a community while actively engaging in the content, unlike most things we've been getting. So instead of getting that, we got the complete opposite - A quick single-player grind AFK mini-game. So it's no better than giving us Fashion Report again.
They can't even give us anything to go out into the world for, or any reason to really interact with each other this expac. I got to play Variant with my FC for 1 day. 1. day.
I'd LOVE to have just anything dynamic and engaging. Give me a new system similar to Wondrous Tails or something. Give me a system that forces me to Sync content, instead of encouraging everyone to single-player unsync all content.
Like what if they made a new Wondrous, but for Hildibrand and tied that to the new Relic and more random rewards. So you can do it for Relic or rewards. Then it pushes you to sync content somewhere.
I want a reason to coop that doesn't require either: Braindead Lv50 Dungeons with Sprouts or Joining a Static to get yelled at and being forced to schedule my playtime.
Sure, but they could easily just double the quality requirement or some such to make it not trivialized, and further add optimization room by incentivizing low step crafts so that most players won't ever reach a place of perfection. That self-satisfaction is the most important part of gameplay. It's the same satisfaction when people master Dark Souls and defeat endgame bosses with ease, when just a month ago they were struggling with the a regular mob. Obviously everything will be eventually solved, but right now the time to solution is literally negative hours as rotations are figured out before patch is even live.
I unironically think the drama that ensues is good for the game. It's content and it makes the game memorable. And interpersonal conflict is also just part of life. It's not something to shy away from. I like Eureka in part because of the drama. It's also super low-stakes drama, so really it's just like watching reality TV. FF14 now is way too sanitized and dull. I don't mean drama like transphobia or stalking someone though. I just meant the drama of AFK leechers vs. spawners with people quarreling in chat. The game really felt rowdy and alive back then.
I know most players today wouldn't want that though, but I also enjoyed looking at the meltdown that occurs when people wipe again and again to Ozma. It was memorable. And these negative events make actual clears and smooth runs feel even sweeter.
Sure. And now people are asking for exploratory content too. So as a community we need to be clear that we want exploratory content that is better and contains new gameplay, not just a pure copypaste.
We didn't even get a proper ending to the Bozjan storyline smh SE
Yeah, I stopped raiding after DSR for this reason. It's especially bad for healers. I remember in UCOB when you can completely screw up a trio but salvage the party by thinking calmly and triaging the party, ensuring the tank survives the tankbuster, making sure DPS are up in time for the mechanic, conserving mana etc. so that you live to see the next trio, even if you don't necessarily clear the enrage. I haven't played healer in a while but this just doesn't seem to be a thing at all in EW now.
I know you did not mention me but I would just like to say that this line of questioning has been directed at so many people, many of whom have actually engaged with a lot of content. Like ForteNightshade.
There is a huge middle ground between being a Limsa AFKer who didn't even do the MSQ and being rank 1 on lalachievements. It's fair to want people to do the content to actually critique that particular piece of content, but I also don't think it's fair for many people (not you) to suggest that if you haven't done XYZ(*) you shouldn't talk about the game as a whole. That's an obvious cop-out that everyone can see. It's a shady way to dismiss the other person's opinion.
(*)XYZ = Farm 50,000 leves, clear PotD, HoH, Orthos solo, clear all Ultimates, level all jobs to 90
If XYZ is something like:
have four or five Lv90 jobs, preferably in each role, before you talk about job balance;
have an Ultimate or at least a Savage clear, before you talk about high-end encounter design or the raiding scene;
be a Hunter Wolf or at least Diamond, before you talk about the prevalence of wintrading on the Feast leaderboards;
have all crafters at Lv90, before you talk about the economy of endgame gear;
etc.
I think people will be far more amenable to the criticisms. But right now so many posts are just dumping a laundry list of possible grinds one could engage in to dismiss criticisms of the lack of the game's content as a whole. I think if you've tried maybe half the new content every patch you more than deserved the right to criticize the game as a whole.
That isn't to say everyone's opinions have equal value. The amount of posts on the prevalence of wintrading, hacking etc. on the Feast leaderboards when we literally never saw these posters in Plat/Diamond back in ShB gave me an aneurysm.
Oh you're bored? Well do you even have a whole Ward of houses? Did you even decorate them all? Do you even have 999,999,999 gil?
The worst part is that the same people who come on here to defend SE at all costs and attack people actively providing feedback would be all over the new content if SE did release it despite their best efforts to attack the people requesting it. They are too dense to understand they aren't just trying to work against the requesters, but they are actively harming themselves in the process.
But hey, as long as they played contrarian and looked like the biggest white knight in the room I guess its worth it.
Every suggestion for change is taken by them as an offense unless it is explicitly sanctioned by Yoship, it seems.
If you feel like I offended you in any way, I apologize for that. I do not try to single any one person out but I try look at things at a wider view than others (been down this road for a very long time) but I am not that smart at all, so bear with me. But I think it should be up to each player who logs into this game to make their own opinion about the systems that is on there. Incinerator2, I understand your point of view and you are right in a way, but you are thinking I was talking about those who plays hours and hours, but I was looking at those who just try it one time and did not like it.
At the end of the day, Constructive criticisms and feedback is very important for information and improvements even if you did it 1000 times or just one time. Information like that can help improved system and way of life for not benefiting only us as the customer and gamers but also for the developers and invertors as well. This game has alot of flaws and alot of stuff they can improved but it will take time and patience from us and from them. Besides these types of conversions that make this game special because we all care for it and want it to succeed.
@R041, I love those ideas and I think they can do something like that with all of the other content and make them relevant again.... like Class gear and glamour (Let me stop or I be writing a 10 essay about the glamour system and why they need to unleash it)
With how everything has been slowly declining in content. Instead of doing 7.0 maybe just end FFXIV story all together let them take a break for a few years and then come up with a new FF MMO that they can take what they have learned and take real feedback on what is lacking and make the new MMO better
A friendly reminder to not engage with those who choose to engage in a debate over semantics. At no other point in this game's history bar 1.0 have this many people been talking openly about their dissatisfaction with its systems, content, and story.
They're saying your content is AFK in Limsa as Bard playing music.
.. Or maybe.

I get to use this one again, nice.

that maybe true and all but look at the last criterion dungeon. It was boring and the rewards were basically nothing. If they make the rewards nothing again then this criterion dungeon will be dead on arrival. deep dungeon is ok but the same as the last 2. Unless they make something innovated and exciting to keep people doing it then their efforts have declined. I keep hoping for a new MMO that can stir the fire back in the FFXIV dev team to see if they will push the envelope or not. If a new MMO comes out that offers more and better content, better housing, better gear progression then I will end up going to that then stay on FFXIV
