Hey that's a good idea I should level up a tank, I don't like dps classes that much and I already have a healer but I feel sorry for all those dps waiting like an hour for duty finder.

If you are worried about Df, queue with friends. It's a new class, people will play it.
I always knew this wont be popular nor well recived, mostly because this forums is a 98% trolls who can barely read, as you see, many posters here belive im asking for NO ninja.
I have this thread archived lol, i would love SE doing something else in this E3, at least puting a lot more incentive for high level tanks and healers to go back to the low level stuff.
Is exactly because they are not adding more classes that this is going to be a million times worse.
30 minutes lockout vs +1 hour queue will be epic lol.
This is a way to deal with the problem, as i said, i want for SE to prevent the problem, really simple, dont add the NIN alone.

I find so amazing the ammout of braindead trolls in this community, good thing they are here, most of them have made my thread 13 pages long by now and is so easy to look and read for properly made and devoloped answers and arguments thanks to them <3
I say no to this and it's still months till they get implemented. Which SE can then add more classes if they wish to before the official patch. Besides there is still the TGS in September that they might announce more stuff.
Oh and out of curiosity OP'ster, I see that you still have 2 class plus a third that has instant queue for duty finder that are not even half way to 50. Is there a reason you haven't finished them. May I suggest saving them for after rogue/ninja drops.. Just curious. :>
really why petition for this? New classes have been needed for some time now so why delay. Besides it is not like 2.4 is this month
Gunner class i would be fine with waiting until the expansion
You call people that disagree with you brain dead trolls?
I would say the person wanting to be stuck in the past so as not to be inconvenienced in the future is the brain dead one
SE already said tank and healers are coming from expansion, at least that was said in the various translations.
Im playing just my main DRG for now, and i dont have much time to play longer, yes i have a GLD and both healers could potentially grant me insta queue when ninjas arrive. But im not thinking about myself here, im thinking about the overall game experience of playing ninjas for everyone. Is going to suck.
People who disagree with me is ok. In fact is perfect, debate is always a needed and very welcome thing in any forum.
I call people who cant read, who cant elaborate a properly made answer, who just came here to say something fun just because of idk... Likes? that people is braindead, and is not my fault is like the 90% of the answers in this thread.
Most people thought they wouldn't add new classes/jobs until an expansion and SE themselves said that new jobs would be coming "sooner then expected" and now at E3 they said new jobs coming in 2.4 before a expansion oh look at that SE didn't lie.
to the OP, maybe you should calm down and wait. its only E3 day 2 right? they may announce something here today or tomorrow right?
It took them several days or months to announce each new job in FFXI that they had planned for each new expansion, I suspect they are gonna do it like that here as well.
Besides we don't even have 2.3 yet I'm gonna take a wild guess that they aren't gonna reveal everything for 2.4 before 2.3 is released.
they may choose to release more classes/jobs for 2.4 and not reveal them at the E3 at all.
I agree with the first post...I don't think this is a good idea, and I don't think there is going to be a fun leveling experience. The duty finder queue times will likely be unbearably slow for anyone wanting to level this class, and the alternative will just be doing fates surrounded by countless other people leveling the exact same class...If one of each role were released at the same time, there'd be more variety at least. Its going to be really lame leveling a rogue via fates and seeing every other player doing the exact same thing. It'll just be another boring fate grind...because the queue times will be too slow to rely on.
Its also amazing how many people attack the OP here even though he made a valid, well-thought out post...or the amount of people who completely ignore things that have been said and just talk about completely unrelated things.
You might be right. However...they initially said they were gonna add the knife class and the gunner class after 2.3...Now they reveal only ninja and when asked about gunner, it seems all we were told is that they are working on it, and tank/healer class will only be at expansion. It really makes it seem like the gunner class was a lie/postponed and we're only getting ninja.
Why are people so quick to say SE is lying, when their is still two live letters to go, the JP one and the final one, who knows they might reveal another secret in each one
Especially since the advert says "new classes" and so far they have only announced once class and one job
this is true but they have said they had Musketeer planned for a considerable amount of time. my guess is they are still figuring out the semantics of it. atleast I hope that is the case. I would certainly like that class to be a good one. kinda hoping for Corsair as the job for it
All the translations of the live letters from E3 said no tanks and healers before expansion.
If they reveal more classes and they fill the role, perfect, but as everything indicates, we have a confirmed DPS class and everything else is being delayed.
You know what would be fun? They announce musketeer/gunner as a ranged DPS to come along with ninja LOL.
People who disagree with you is ok, as long as you think their answer is acceptable.. lol you asked for opinions and you got them, no need to get mad and call 98% of the forum posters trolls just because they don't agree with your opinion.
I don't think they should hold off on nin for one simple reason, several friends will come back to play the game again when nin is released. I personally don't care if all of Eorzea is made up of ninjas if it means I'll have more people to play with. I choose to look at the bigger picture myself, in the long run they will add more tanks and healers to balance things out and either way I think people will still que up with tanks/healers if the que times are so bad and then spend the tomes on nin. I'll just take turns with my friends personally, both while leveling up and at end game.
i don't see the trouble, more dps, means variety, maybe time to get ride of the habit tu have 1 bard, 2 ranged dps and 1 melee dps.
variety it's always welcome, people need to stop to worries for nothing, even if they add tank and healer, the chance that people decide to level them will be the same as now... meaning. they will prefer play a dps than a tank or healer! nothing will come from add more tank and healer... because it's people that decide what will be played the most.
adding ninja now, allows a better way for balance it before add another class. one new class means new skill and new effect affecting the whole balance of the game. add more will ask a ton of work, the work you do on an expansion, where you add level and area. that give you more freedom on how balance and change the current class for avoid overpowered setup.
unfortunately making new tank/healer classes and jobs wont solve the issue if people don't want to play those roles the duty finder will remain unbalanced regardless. just because the jobs/classes are there does not mean people will just play them.
many people hate playing tanks or healers, that part wont change so delaying classes/jobs in hopes for balance is kinda pointless.
It's only going to suck for those going to have to pay out an arm and a leg for equipment and stuff, but that is normal for every new candy that comes out. Zodiac relics..yeap. Other than that.. the experience is going to be the same. Nothing will change. And as been mention ump-teem times, there are many forms to level up.
On a side not, once these ninjas hit 50 and want to gear them up with myth and soldiery gear as quickly as possible. If they have a tank/healer at 50 already geared.. Do you think they're going to gear ninja up queuing as ninja for myth/soldiery, hell no I wouldn't.
Sounds like OPs opinion and another opinion that is shared by a very few.
How about you appreciate and enjoy the new addtion of a job and find a different way to level up the class once it's released.
You know, like Leves, FATEs, Challenge Log, Party Finder, leftover quests, or making an exp static.
In that case, it sounds like you are simply being reactive instead of being proactive. Proactive people have already anticipated what will happen and have planned accordingly even before that. Therefore, they aren't even phased by the announcement.
Everyone will find their way to get to lvl 50 and beyond, espcially if they enjoy the job (or Ninja, or the idea of being a Rogue class in FFXIV). I don't see the point of what you are trying to achieve -- [DPS] Jobs will be added, and this scenario will come up again and again and again in the future. Your Petition will not delay or change SE's objective, and life will go on a month or two after 2.4, with things returning to normal.
A superior argument would have been calling into question what the point of a stealth class in this game would serve, considering it's current endgame, metagame and dynamic post level 50.
First i have already found like minded individuals in this thread. A clear minority, which i knew before even hiting post it would be small, in fact, i thought i was going to be alone here.
Second, is a petition to? the community? im asking the forums posters to delay the NIN introduction till another tank and healers are ready to get into the game?
Not my style to answer this kind of off-topics post, but thats ok for this time i guess.
Thats the case in most MMOs, that you could say is the industry`s way to deal with things.
Gamers and communities have become used to get half coocked, bad preseted, bad implemented not filling content. As if ATMA threads were not enough, we all have just got over it. Is a peculiar way to see how things works. Gamer`s standars have come so low that anything a devolper does is at best: "not bad enough i can keep playing".
There is a reason why this industry is dying, and there is a reason why SE has not being doing well these few years. Lazy development efforts, an indulgent community. FFXIV:ARR has been a really good experience, do not missunderstand, but as times goes by, quality of content has been going down, since devolopers have noticed, that the love for the game makes everything tolerable. Like ATMAs, like PvP, like sightseeing log.
sounds to me like you fail to understand what a petition actually is then. a petition is a form of voting in a way, it is getting people to give their names to your cause.
despite what you think that is what voting is.
to me it sounds an awful lot like you never intended to get people on your side. kinda like you expected people to argue against you
I'm not sure what you were trying to say in the second part there, I edited my original message while you were posting I guess to add "to achieve some goal" which is the real point I was trying to get across.
The only way that a petition will achieve its goal is by convincing people that it is the best thing to do for the majority so if you already knew you're the minority, and don't care about convincing other people about your cause, then I really don't see the point of this thread at all. Perhaps you just named it incorrectly or something and just wanted the chance to see if you had a clever idea with no intention of achieving your goal.
As for it not being your style, it's really in your best interest since I'm bumping your thread and I am not insulting you. I'm trying to understand why you call this a petition, yet don't seem to care what other people think if it doesn't align with your own thoughts. Doesn't seem so off topic to me.
Because of this thread, I'm going to roll a Ninja a the first opportunity. I would like to think that many would do the same too.
I remember when Arcanist was announced, and playable. People said that everyone would just be an Arcanist. It lasted a few weeks, then people decided they'd actually rather play other classes.
Yes, everyone will play the same things when it arrives. It won't last, though. And it doesn't matter when they are added; it'll be the same thing then anyway.
I will not be rolling a Rogue when the patch hits and will continue to play healer. You guys can thank me later when we are running double rogue low-level dungeons, I'll probably end up seeing most of you there since I'm not going to be in the majority :P.
What is your vision of well presented content, then? I always here this argument that the industry is dying, yet I still see data that presents top MMOs still in the millions of subscribers (albeit a couple of millions or thousands of subs lost to MOBA style games), despite more and more MMOs being added into the mix. The fact is, people like grinds, people like doing the daily work for a shiny weapon at the end of the road. They also like going into the next grind, and/or using their newly obtained weapon to fight monsters to get a newer, more shiny weapon.
FFXIV did not create a new standard, it simply follows standards that are known to work successfully, and created it's own success from it. SE is doing well now, thanks to FFXI still bringing in the numbers from dedicated subbers, and now the newly acclaimed FFXIV: ARR. And delvelopment efforts have been anything but "lazy." Laziness cannot take a very dead and failing MMO, reimage and re-release it, and come out sucessful without some serious work put in. There's a reason why people say FFXIV: ARR set an unheard of precedent with it's sucesss -- it is literally the only MMO that has recovered from it's own initial failings, something unheard of in the MMO community.
The indulgent community however, I will agree with you on.
False. Democracy and popularity are not the only way to make things happen.
I care about what people think even if doesn`t aling with my thoughts, what i dont care about are the "no /10chars" and jokes about the thread. And belive me, i just read through them. I have been constantly ansewing opossing opinions to mine in the thread, specially those well formulated ones about how the DF ratio has nothing to do with how many players play what roles ratio. Which i have even accepted as it was true, because is reasonable. And thats what i consider and care, reasonable, well presented, arguments.
FFXIV:ARR devolpment wasnt lazy, because they were literlly wallet forced to create something worth, cause SE couldnt afford another "Final Fantasy Spirit Within" hit with FFXIV. And i agree, the level of polish, the well done rebuild, and the overall experience and delivery of FFXIV:ARR was outsanding and top level. SE has recovered, not fully but numbers are looking good in comparison to what they look 2 years ago. Player base has stablished, the community has been solified, and the balance between trolls, haters, white knights and critical poster has become into balance aligned with the stars of the interwebz.
NOW. Thing have become "normal". Devolpers have began to soften their hand on about how things are delivered and the overall polish of content has been seeing small but clear drops. We are beyond that point already where everyone on the internet was calling "6 months for F2P" we have stablished a foothold already, a very good one, thing that TESO and Wildstar for example havent and they are struggling. Nope, we are better than that because of things like presentation, polish, well devoloped content and delivery of said content.
My vision of well presented content? What 2.0 was. Even what 2.1 was... But 2.2 already had their flaws because of lazy devoloping, 2.28 had it. I hope 2.3 straightens the path once more. Im just worried the indulgency of the community reaches the developer team now we are past "the critical age" of any P2P MMORPG.
And this is off-topic because is a discussion about me and my objective, which is not the topic, and from now on, im off from this off-topic xD.
Thing is, ACN was launched along another 7 classes. Yes a lot of people went to rush it (and actually was pretty bad) since it was new from the beta perspective. Now, there is nothing new besides the NIN. What happend with ACN will be nothing compared to whats going to happen here if NIN comes alone.
I say release it. I could use less monks to compete with.
