The "immersion breaking" argument doesn't hold much water. There are obviously greater immersion breaking factors in the game already:
1. Your character can take an axe to the face and not lose half its face.
2. Your character is tireless (even sleeps standing up), never worries about personal hygiene, eating is optional, has no kids, has no parents, never ages.
3. Your character can't die, even if eaten by a giant monster 10 times its size. It's just knocked out for awhile.
4. Your character can carry 100 Haubergeons with no signs of slowing down or bulkiness, even if it only has 9 STR and stands 2 feet tall.
Goodness gracious. Imagine how "unrealistic" it would be if your character could jump in a world like that.
