If your bored of the optimal path, then do something suboptimal. If SE changes what is the optimal.path, it doesn't fix the problem just moves it to the new optimal.content.

...you've completed 3 zodiacs and have no idea what we're talking about? Dungeons... at a mere 12 light per dungeon run? And that's assuming you did them after the recent patch, since before then it was halved at a mere 6 light. This also assumes only the highest tier dungeons. So... basically 167 dungeon runs per weapon with current light or 334 dungeon runs per weapon beforehand. A potential total of over 900 dungeons and you have no idea what we're talking about?

Assuming you did run them in dungeons, and assuming (best case scenario) that each dungeon took only 20 minutes total, you're looking at a minimum 167 hour investment. And that's just for Nexus lights. That doesn't factor in Mahatma lights, the atma/alex grinding nor the numerous dungeon runs you likely ran to get your zodiac items.

Heck, worst case scenario you're only getting 4 light per dungeon, meaning 500 needed per weapon at a total of 1,500 dungeon runs. Bringing the hour total to 500 or a total of 21 days pure dungeon grinding game time. That's a whole lot of time invested in a mere 3 weapons.

You went through all of that... and you have no idea what we're talking about? It's hard to take that seriously.

I always do two or three things at once. While zodiac farming for my Smn, I light farmed on my scholar and bard. While doing the Zeta quest, I've been gaining Alexs for my whm who is on atma book 1 also mixing in my dragoon who is light farming. This is how I got 3 zodiacs and wil see a 4th maybe 5th. I never stop.

As far as your patience goes, I honestly don't see the fuss. Yes, the windows may be fixed with Primals/Turn 4. Yes. I've tanked. I'm usually a patient one, though. Full time student here, so I try to manage my time with raid, work, and this. It sucks, but trust me I know how you feel. Again, you probably are just burnt out~.

Thanks for your input. Trying to make the game better for everyone isn't such a great idea, I guess. My BAD. I'll just go away and enjoy my 2nd Z weapon which I finished last night. ps: I DO like this game, but I can see how it could be better. Again,I guess thats a BAD thing.

We are just trying to understand what it is you want to change, the only thing I could see is you said how about doing things like gold saucer/ixali dailies give more light, but you don't seem to understand that those things would then be the go-to thing and everyone would spam it for light farm and get sick of it just like they are sick of garuda.

And honestly I would rather do Ruda than ixali dailies or Gold saucer, neither of those things interest me at all infact most of the stuff in the GS is mind numbing for me. So my point on that is, you can't please everyone and not to mention it doesn't matter what you change to give more light, people will spam it till it becomes boring because its more efficient, if you want to ENJOY the game, then don't spam things for light farm, just do the things you want to do and have the light be secondary.

lol no need to get upset, it's just the forums. Continue posting and making threads as you see fit, just because a handful of people don't agree doesn't mean you need to stop.

Personally I'm only working on my first nexus at the moment because I'm not a big fan of the rng that's involved in the quests. It's long and boring to grind hm primals but there are a lot of other things that you can do for light. I think the problem is that the other things that give light don't give enough based on the amount of time they take.

Basically 2-3 minutes for 4-8 light or 20-30 minutes for 12-24 light. The numbers just don't add up there so nobody is ever going to farm dungeons or 24 mans instead for light because of that. To me I think SE should increase the light values you get from certain things that take longer so that they become more viable and people feel like they have more options. The options are all there, they just aren't all worth the reward you get out of them.

Thanks Doc, not giving up, just not going to argue with people who dont see what I see. I dont mind that they dont agree. I'm not going to try change their minds. In the end everyone may suffer from what could be seen as uninspried game design (IMO)

It's almost like there are tons of dungeons that give you lights that you are purposefully ignoring while then asking for more...

If your burnt out then reconsider making so many of the weapons.That's your choice to make so many so you chose to engage in this content with full knowledge of the grind. If you're tired then stop. Expecting square to change the balance because you don't know how to moderate yourself is selfish. Know your limits or reap what you sow.

Also, Lol at asking for no trolls. Cause that's ever worked ever.

I do 2 expert Roulettes and Im done with my next mahatma.

It's also a lot less grindy if you don't try to to get everything done asap. When my FC mates find out I'm working on three relics, they think I'm crazy. But I haven't even gotten my first one to zeta yet so I haven't burned myself out grinding like they did just so they could keep up with the Jones's. The Zodiac stage is my least favorites post so far though. Not looking forward to that on two more jobs.

I agree that all the options are there but people tend to get caught up doing whatever gets you from point A to point B the fastest. If the dungeon light rewards were higher in order to compensate for the amount of time they take then more people would consider it a viable option but right now the fact is you can do 1 dungeon in 20-30 minutes or you can do approximately 10 hm primals in that same amount of time. In the end you would end up 40 light from the primals and 12 from the dungeons most of the time (assuming normal light, bonus would be 80 vs 24 which is even worse).

Also, dungeons tend to go bad a lot more often than hm primals do which is another factor to consider. A bad dungeon can take 45+ minutes to complete and the reward stays the same.

The options are all there which is great but the rewards should be re-evaluated so that people feel other options are more viable.

You're literally you're own troll in this thread. I'm also amazed by the fact that you don't seem to be acknowledging that there are indeed other ways to complete your overall objective without getting burnt out on primals. Yes, they are the fastest but by no means is it a requirement to do them for light.

Some people have already mentioned in this thread that they do dungeons. It's been mentioned that the light associated with dungeons isn't as good as primals though. That's been noted here and other threads. Suggestions for it have been noted in other threads. But people have mentioned that you don't have to do just them. When there is no good "bright" window (as it happens to me often), you can go and do anything at that point. You don't need to spam primals when there isn't a bright.

The content of this game is what you make of it. People tell me that completing Novus is fastest if you use hunt seals to grind out Alexandrite while also getting maps. Guess what? Because hunts are grindy awfulness, I went and did the daily expert and did any soldiery map overflow. I got the required alexandrite slow because I didn't use the fastest method and burn myself out of content that was annoying to me.

If you don't wanna do primals anymore, find the other ways to do it and do them. Instead of thinking of how much faster primals are, think instead of how different it is than running a Garuda HM for the 20th time in a row.

The Zodiac stage is my Fav stage of the all the stages . Why?, at least you a mixsure of things to do. Yes, you're still farming DFS for drops but the crafting parts help break up the quest, keeping it somewhat freah.

See, this is where I disagree. They could just as easily give a significant light bonus to a daily roulette, say +50 or so, making them far more worthwhile for earning progress towards Nexus or Zeta than they currently are. As it stands, you only earn the standard dungeon light for running them.

This way, you prevent people from being able to spam the content, so no chance of burnout, and less chance of people getting frustrated because there's a clear and decisive method for earning a decent amount of light over time. Those who WANT to earn it faster can still do so, but at the same time it won't penalise those who move at a slower pace.

You know, it's taken me a bit of time to formulate how to respond to your latest banter, OP, and instead of responding directly to that, I figured it'd be more worthwhile to respond in a different way.

Your issue with the official forum is the fact that your presentation of yourself is very very poor. While I can see you're a very friendly, energetic, and most likely kind person in game, the way you present yourself on the forums is very lackluster, hence why you have varying levels of negative attitude directed towards you. So i am now on my second zeta light grind, having already obtained my Last Resort Zeta since i raid on sch, so it needed to be done first. For my Nirvana Zeta, i am pretty much choosing not to grind primals on bonus and just get the light at a more casual pace. I can understand the fact that the light grind is pretty much imbalanced in favour of spamming primals, but well, it also comes down to player choice. I am basically helping fc member do other thing with my whm and gathering light on the side. The only thing i can say is perhaps step back a bit from the light grind and gather the light by doing things that you enjoy, and hopefully this way it becomes less of a grind and more enjoyable for you.

At the end of the day, it does come down to player choice. The player chooses what to grind and the pace of the grind.
