Ah I see, sorry :P

"You will gain enough SP after completion of the leve, if you look at this as single leve then sure it will look as a downgrade."
"There may be a temporary situation where you may think "Overall SP got bad" since we can't put everything into 1.18."
"But for if you look from users point of view and know that this is weird, it should be implemented as fast as possible even if the changes are good or bad changes."
and we wonder why people have been saying that we need to get the sp while we can get it. hmmm wonder who got flamed for the use of the change for the sake of change regardless if the change is good or bad?
in his own interview promoting his new concepts he uses the words those statements? the new system can be looked at as a downgrade? the sp will be bad? and changes are being thrown in whether they are good or bad? thank goodenss i won't be doing much leveling on the new system until cap increases.
The leve-ticket idea sounds interesting. Made a thread about how to implement it:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...Implement-This
You will notice however that this is only due to the 1.18 patch not having everything in it. Yes, they could hold it back until everything is ready, but going by the atmosphere currently present on the forums etc (As in, why isn't there new stuff, it has been X months!) they want to get something out, and fix what is seen as an issue for the moment.
It is all part of The Plan, and unless they just held everything back until it was all complete then things are going to be odd, be it that XP becomes good/bad/completely random. Plus it isn't an interview, it is him responding to forum posts in a way that isn't PR speak - would you rather he just said, oh no, things during this time of massive change will just be awesome, no problems even as we implement things earlier than we might otherwise to keep people reasonably happy that things are actually happening.
As to getting the SP 'while we can', I'm sure that come the full implementation of the various plans hinted at, you will have enough ways to have it coming out of your ears rather than gaming the Leve system for maximum SP. I am definitely looking forward to hunting becoming a viable way to earn XP, as it can be a fun thing to do with friends and it doesn't have defined start or end, so lets you do as you wish.
They are between a rock and a hard place as many folk don't seem to realise anything is happening unless it is implemented on the live servers, and then when they do, of course when it is a work in progress things are not going to be perfect. I'm interested in hearing more about the multiple activities outside of Leves intended for parties in the future, it seems even monster hunting and some sort of 'world events' (I use that in the same way as Behest) will make up the majority of play time, rather than Leves as it is now.
I'm looking forward to hearing the overall 'game plan' in the future, because the game we are getting isn't the one I signed up for, but I'm intrigued none the less.
I really can't believe they're gimping our SP and expecting us to just wait it out until the game "gets better". Is this a joke? They are making an already by and large unenjoyable game even less enjoyable for those of us sticking around. This is a slap in the face, I honestly can't believe it.
I can accept change, fine no problem. But to take away (to a degree) the only thing any of us enjoy in the game and not offer any sort of replacement for months is unbelievable. Again, is this a joke?
this is why i posted the quotes from him. there are many people that have been waiting for this patch and the dungeons for their return to this game before they decided to throw the game away. yoshi talked this patch up so high that they had many posts about how this would be the last straw for them. they wanted to come on and see the new battle adjustments and content that has been 10 months in the making. when they come in, because we know the majority of them do not come in these forums, and see half finished stuff removed and more half implemented stuff put in its place what is the reaction going to be.
i'm here and will likely still play although my play time will drop dramatically, but was hoping this patch would bring more people to the game. those quotes make it look like we will have more going into the watching lodestone and checking in every now and then mode. these servers are already dead and we don't need anything to make them die even farther.
at this point they cannot be releasing half completed stuff. this is what got tanaka canned and this new group are following the same pattern. we need completed stuff not more half done things littering the game.
they say in the future they will finish this and that with the battle system, but in case i remember they were working on completing player ran companies directly after release.
you are right people want fixes. they do not want half completed things removed and replaced with even more half completed things.
yes, i notice that 1.18 does not have everything in it, but i wonder how many of the vast majority that have already left know this. i know a very small minority of even the current players come on these forums to check on things and i am sure it would be an even smaller percentage of the ones that have went into wait mode are visiting here.
if they do not know it is half completed stuff then when they come in their reaction will be "i waited for 10 months and this is the best they can come up with".
Christ it already begins. Please try to keep the moaning shit out of this thread guys, the forums are going to be a total firestorm of rage from 1.18 till 1.2 anyway, let's keep this thread clean for the awesome translation stuff Reinheart is doing (thanks so much for this!).
I will say, I wish they'd announce this game was going back into beta already. We're in beta now, hence patches with unfinished content, that's just the way it is. Just accept that, and move on.
What the hell is the point in even levelling stuff up right now anyway? If it's just a crappy grind it seems totally pointless to me.
I hope, one day, a subligar is named after you.
Fists eh? Wasn't thinking they'd go that route. I was thinking more along the lines of whacking them with the bow itself, like some kind of staff attack. Maybe the fists are just placeholder animations? I understand why it's a bad idea to give archers daggers/melee weapons, but I think they can do a little better on the ARC auto attack.
JP side has a thread going on with haiku poems relating to FFXI... JP haiku's go by number of letter (hiragana, without the small letters... 5,7,5...) anyways people were posting stuff over time and Yoshida Producer wanted to join in... This one is just translation, translation will break the haiku form... just thought it was funny he posted this so translating.
I think I posted it somewhere else Poekichi or Poem is another nick name aside from YoshiP; He got that nick name from some people for him posting the weird poem in december... Poe (poem) Kichi is just something people put at end of nick names in Japan. Like for example if someone is named... Tony they might call him Tonkichi, if you know JP anime it's same like Tony-kun, xxx-chan, kichi is less popular one...
On the same Haiku Poem thread someone posted after seeing YoshiP being on the forums posting posted a Haiku saying it's starting to get boring doing same stuff, he responded to that one so here goes.
Suguha's response which I also agree
Done with the translations for today.
There is one more about system menu, where people asking menu items to be listed different but they just responded it's going to be changed once the UI optimization comes in, so nothing really important to translate I think. They are working on it so shouldn't be a problem. Got Anime Expo today so wont be looking at forums too much this after noon.
Hi Reinheart,
Thanks again for your tireless translations. :)
This is great news! :) Secret Boss for the Raid Dungeon. The fact that their QA Team got wiped out by it (excellent)! :)
It may not be Pandemonium Warden or Absolute Virtue, but I hope it's very, very hard. :) (and it sounds like it.)
{Challenge} {Can I have it?} ;)
Ever thought of the fact that grinding itself may be slower after 1.18 Patch, but there is gonna be MORE to do that will give you opportunities to do something besides grinding, so grinding and progressing a lil slower won't make you feel so bad as it is right now, where grinding is the ONLY thing to do? Just think for a second...
Yeah lol, got wiped means it's gonna be fun!
Well, just a feeling and hope.
just give us get wipe instead! that gonna be fun and entertaining lolz
Oh right, I haven't thanked you for translating all these! Thanks! I just read it and never replied, but I always do the "Like" button :P
Thanks so much for taking the time to do this for us on a daily basis, its very much appreciated.
Didn't want to start a new thread to test this... so gonna test it here.
It's temporary poll feature I found until we get to use the official one. Once poll is calculated need to post the results but seems to be working imo.
Poll: Testing Poll
- wut?
- this is pretty cool
- website devs release the forum polls already..lol
- (Results) - view results.
Here is a way to make your own polls (for now + if you want to)

a new reply from yoshi-p : http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...894#post211894
thanks a lot =)
Star wars galaxies.
If you want something interesting to read, check out what LucasArts did with their New Game Enhancements to that title.
Updated OP with the 2 new posts from YoshiP
Reinheart - you're a champ! <3
So the reason there's a time restriction on the dungeons is that the amount of parties who can enter at the same time is limited. Oh dear. Well at least there aren't that many people to compete with.
Well he said that he didn't want people to have to wait in line, so I'm not so sure.
Thanks for the translations again Reiheart. Might just be your translation, but I felt a bit of scathing from Yoshida there, in regards to having had the game handed to him with zero quests. Could just be me though. Also very interesting to note his mention of what he would expect at launch generally - I guess that come the future, and possible expansions, it will take a more standard MMO approach to content. Not that it isn't clear from the current goals they have.
In regards to Star Wars Galaxies, I'll admit, having been a player at that time, I was somewhat miffed at what happened (as in, it entirely ruined everything the game stood for to me) however I don't feel that the changes to Final Fantasy XIV are anywhere near the same boat - particularly because they are putting this forward as "Final Fantasy XIV - Take 2" and how it should have been initially, instead of trying to grab a slice of the 'WoW pie'.
No matter the outcome, he has a goal and a purpose for what he wants Final Fantasy XIV to be and that is definitely better than having a lot of interesting ideas half baked, as was the unfortunate status at launch. I really like the fact that he is posting and responding 'out of hours' etc Lets hope his vision turns out as they hope it will - I'm more than ready to put down WoW and its clone army for good.
awesome post, but man i wish we had dates. even if they are very far out.
