For end game content? Many of them actually. Even WoW does. Many major raids/end game content in mmo's have a week long lockout. In a fact a week is standard and usually the lockout ends on the weekly maintenance day.

Even if you wouldn't....this mechanic would enable lots of douches to just quit the run or "disconnect" from the server once they got their gear then re-queue to get more. It won't be that fair for the remaining players especially if tanks/healers get into the habit of dropping
What will probably happen is each wing will have its own loot pool so you have to fall into the right wing as well you will most likely not get a chest until the end in the letter it said about half the group should get a drop so thats 12 pieces of gear which is 4 possible chests.
Lets say with a 24hour lockout that a player has done CoB for the week, maybe some Beastmen quest, and is near capping his/her Myth Tomes for the week. So they run CT in hopes of getting a piece of gear they do 2-3 run no drop or get out lotted, they finish each run and cap on myth for the week. Now the player has no reason to finish the entire run (LOL Phil Tomes) what's stopping that player from leaving if they lose lot/gear doesn't drop/or they get the gear? People run in to AK and go for the accessory chest and leave all the time if they don't get what they want.
Seeing as how Crystal Tower is useable in Duty Finder I doubt SE will not allow people to join in progress.
Darklight is pretty much useless now seeing as how HQ ilvl70 gear and materia prices have dropped by 75% or more. And no Unless you have some very amazing luck your not farming Crystal tower in a few days and getting all the gear we will have to lot against others.
Haha and people complain about waiting 15 min to pop something in ffxi.
I don't need se to keep telling me when I can and can't do content that is out...this is a p2p game. I don't mind cool downs over a couple days...if there was more end game hard content to choose from but there is not.
Stop limiting my play time ffs its boring.
My hero :3
Kind of lame that they have such caps and restrictions for a P2P game. This is starting to remind me of cellphone plans haha.
Clearly, the only way for SE to retain peoples' "interest" and subscription fees for awhile longer though. Half my friends list only plays on Mondays-Tuesdays now just to run Coil and cap out their Myth tomes. For those who have all classes to 50 already, I really don't see how they are getting full value for their subscription fee to run the same stuff once a week. I can definitely see why these players are actually annoyed or disappointed with these restrictions.
*prays the lockout is shorter than one week for ct*
At least allow the group to pass on loot and let you still greed it, I run statics and we split up the loot quite fairly.
Lock out time must be 3 days or longer. Otherwise the economy will crash. If player can get i80 gear so easy who going to buy or craft i70 craft gear which support current economy.
Reinheart Translations! 2.1 and 2.2
Just some excerpts:
- Primal Extreme mode loot and Crystal Tower loot will have a 1 week lockout.
IDK how accurate this is but if its 100% then SE just screwed up. I mean this is Complete BS that there will be a 1 week lockout on gear that isn't even the best in the game.
If its true SE just lost 2 subs cause its already log in twice a week for a total of 3-4hrs to finish CoB and Cap Myth.
The developers really like limiting the speed that a player can progress in this game. Coil is only one run-through a week, CT will have gear locks. Maybe our first level cap increase will limit the amount of experience points a player can gain per day.
I didn't play 1.0 so correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't this called the fatigue system?
I really don't see the problem with CT having a 1 week lockout.
Come 2.1 you will be able to do 5 turns of Coil once a week for i90 loot, EM primals once a week for i90 weapons AND accessories, and CT once a week for i80 loot. This seems pretty fair to me, anymore would have been overkill.
It's a large difference actually. Coil you can only do it once, if you don't get anything, you don't get anything. CT however, even if nothing you want drops in the first run, you can run it again. The problem I see however, is people will save their rolls for certain items, so I foresee a bunch of gear just getting destroyed.
This is pretty much what's going to happen.
Except then there's that issue sometimes where if everyone leaves an instance and you haven't passed on a loot item yet it'll automatically get put into your inventory. And I guess you would be shit out of luck if that happens.
This discussion is about loot. How does this make a 'large difference' to the discussion if you can keep running CT but only loot it once a week? You're just being awkward. Keep on topic.
Before you say what you are frothing at the mouth to say, you added that last bit in after to make the nitpicking seem relevant.
They're just killing their own game with these lockouts. Get item. Drop Party. Done for the week. Thanks SE!
You said "That's what I meant, and you know that" No, the words you used did not mean that. Second, It really is a large difference, locking the dungeon itself, but not the loot is drastically different from locking loot but not the dungeon.
No, I added that as my view on what will happen. Nothing really related to commenting on falsehoods.
Even though I think this couldn't be a worse system to implement into CT, as long as you're going with your FC you're guaranteed to never have to Need against someone. So if you grind out CT enough during the week everyone in your group will get one piece of ilvl 80. Which is pretty horrible but whatever.
The point was clear in the context of the sentence.
I understand that it could have sounded like i meant you could only run the dungeon once if you take it out of that sentence, but the fact that you can run it multiple times has NO bearing whatsoever on this discussion because you can still only attain 1 piece of loot per week. What you are picking at only matters if the discussion is "there isn't enough to do", which it isn't.
You were just nitpicking, you had nothing to add to the discussion and so just felt the need to be an annoying little so and so. Just PLEASE do not address me ever again because i cannot stand nitpickers and thread derailers. Find something better to do for the love of god.
No, that CLEARLY states you can run it once a week. Which is false information. Proven false information. And you still fight against it. I'll however make this easy on you.Quote:

People pay for a spot in a Coil group that can run at least Turns 1-4 while carrying someone because they're skilled/geared enough to do it. Said carried person is paying for the opportunity to roll on any gear that drops. Some groups charge an entry fee AND a per item fee.
Point was clear, I admitted that the wording was a little off but it would take an absolute idiot to not see that I just worded it incorrectly and what I meant is obvious. ANY other rational human being would have seen that, got the jist of the post, and just left it at that.
I literally have no time for people like you at all.
Umm yeah the buyer doesn't have a 100% chance to get what they want. But yes people can sell Allagan gear.
Sorry but you can only take 8 people with you server side so you will at some point have to lot against another player.
We have a limit....and It's a week?
Welp. 2.1 is a bust.
They are holding us all back with these damn Lockouts.
Stop limiting us on this friggin' game SE. We're paying for what exactly?
Yes, your premade of 8. Which you can discuss who needs what gear for that week. Since your premade will all be in one group and each group gets their own loot chest, you'll get to decide amongst your group who gets what. Unless they decide that your premade randomly gets sorted into different groups... but that's yet to be confirmed or denied so.
