This has nothing whatsoever to do with the healerstrike, and whomever started this side discussion, and the extremely poor "data analysis" is probably having a great time watching people get diverted down this rabbit hole.

this is why i think parsing is silly. because like. ffxiv instances are pass/fail. you either get duty complete, or you get duty failed. grading people based on numbers is silly and unnecessary. (and also against terms of service).
it ONLY makes people behave in a toxic manner.
how about. "if you parse or try to parse people, thats actually the red flag".
because it is.
If someone wants to exclude me based on a lack of data I'd rather not party with them in the first place.
This also still has absolutely nothing to do with the healer role sucking.
Let's return to the topic.
1111111111 rotation for no one or for everyone! /s
Well we're just informing people on the "culture" so to speak if they want to do raids or apply to statics in the future. It's a statement of fact, not of opinion.
It's just a warning that you could be kicked from PF groups doing Ultimates or even weekly Savage PFs just for hiding the logs.
Also Kaurhz and I are not trying to defend the spreadsheet guy at all lol. Just telling you what the situation is currently.
Note: the following quote was in response to Arthars looking up people's tomestone.gg
Sure, I started a whole thread over it:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...IVHEALERSTRIKE
We're just telling aspiring raiders to be careful because the community definitely has some log-gatekeeping the further up you go.
Of course, if you don't intend on doing anything more than casually raiding it doesn't matter.
This attitude isn't new, it has existed for years, I would be genuinely surprised if anyone with an interest in raiding wasn't already aware of it.. What's new is using it to frighten people away from voicing their opinion in the forums (i.e. harassment) , as such I'm not going to give it any more visibility.
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...rd-party-sites
I've made a forum post for it, we can talk about it further there lets stop derailing this thread with this.
Let's also not forget that there's one of them amongst the forummonger you linked who actually went directly into JP forum to sabotage a similar thread made by one of EN user by purposely typing in English and insult the EN community. Funny how people keep yelling the strike isn't going to be of any significance but also give so much attention to it. Pick a lane already lol.
But that's alright. We're the best community, right? /s
Is there a reason the strike starts on the July 2nd ("official release") rather than on June 28th ("early access")?
(This may have been answered before but there are nearly 500 pages...)
Should we point out that if people think the strike has significance, there wouldn't be a need to go into the single thread on this forum where people are posting what they enjoy about healing and trying to disrupt it? There's a whole bunch of people from this thread that have tried doing that...or, perhaps, are we going to acknowledge that when there's a group of people doing something, trying to act as if one single person's actions somehow represent the group is dishonest...
And yeah, our community in FFXIV is leaps and bounds above most others that I've experienced. The forums are never a good place to determine that, though. These are almost invariably cesspools of negativity and toxicity. I go by what I experience in-game as the norm.
I dont think it really matters. People who are into the strike are taking a break from the game or playing other roles since they first heard of this like i did.
People who dont care as much or just want to get their fill of healing before the strike can change what they play later like on early access or release.
Id say i really recommend people play other roles for story content anyway. Little battle encounters or solo instances on healer is a perfect way to ruin the game experience.
But yeah the point of the strike isnt actually to strike, its to get attention to the matter. It has nothing to do with actually trying to affect queue times.
I think its more just a psa. To me, i was always a healer main but started picking up dps jobs when i got bored. So, why not just wait longer to play dps and have fun too anyway? That's how i view the strike.
You're completely right here. Players in FF14 are generally more welcoming and polite. There are always a few bitter people who go into threads they dislike and project their own bitterness onto others, but generally it has been fine.
In any other community you'd find thousands of players like this guy, but here, thankfully we only have one.
I support the healer strike!
Ahh yes, I have heard of the great community we have in FFXIV. In fact, I have looked far and wide and have seen many examples proving just how great our community is.
As pointed out in a separate thread , the accolades of many in this thread have been gone over and praised by others in this great community. They do this on their public channels maximize the amount of visibility towards these specific players, surely aiming to show people in this thread in a good light.
Perhaps a different case would be by one particular member (no witch-hunting please) of our great community, who compiled a spreadsheet of all our achievements in this thread. They seem like a trustworthy individual and are in no way trying to stoke anything negative about any particular group of players. Even you, Striker44, are included in this list, complete with your character and their achievements in terms of battle content to show just how diverse of a community we are in terms of skill level.
See how wonderful of a community we are? It is as they say, we are a great community, by the way...
Ooh, so is this where we use the comment the other poster made about whoever made that "spreadsheet" thing and point out how much a simple random person like me has gotten in your head that you went all the way through my history to selectively grab a few? Nice!
(By the way, why not do the same to any of the people that have invaded the positive thread about healing? Oh, right, that wouldn't be upholding the double standard...)
Kudos, though, for proving my point about the cesspool that is the forums compared to the positivity that exists in the game. I appreciate it!
Serious question - did you just respond to a post that pointed out how one person isn't representative of the whole and try to "debunk" it by...posting an example of one person that isn't representative of the whole? I'm very confused...Quote:

I just hope devs take the positive feedback from here and use that to further better encounter design and hopefully in 8.0 better job design for healers.
not 100% sure on that. there have been good posts in the healer forums for years that were good feedback, examples, ways things could be done to change the downward slide and they have been pointedly ignored.
which is why we are where we are today... with this thread.
is this out of season april fools joke
Oh sure, I was just pointing out that some of the people pushing the strike considered it a weird sort of "victory" that they got in someone's head enough to do that. I was confused by that because I thought the goal was to change the game, not annoy those who enjoy it, and the support of that comment seemed to be undermining the claim being made. Yet here, that same group seems to be giving others a "victory" for getting in their own heads. I feel like Scar from the Lion King right about now...
OK now that we're taking about healers not getting enough attention let's talk about how come tanks skills like PLD Holy Sheltron and GNB Heart of Corondum has shield animations when getting hit and Sage new class on Endwalker who came the same expansion as those skills and is a "Shield Healer" class doesn't have any shield animations like scholar on their barriers at all.
That's something that bugged me since AST nocturnal stance back in those days and I thought maybe it's a lot of work, and I been waiting and waiting they took notice but clearly they did since they're giving to tanks and I think reaper has shield animation too on their Arcane Crest, again a class that came with the Sage, the developers need to pay attention to this because it kinda hurts the dps and tanks got really cool skills, but healers are getting no animations on their shields and a 1 2 but Dps with not enough damage on tanks during dungeons to keep up the effort on healing.
I am fairly certain you know any amount of case examples, regardless of how large or small or exhaustive, I provide can never represent the entire great majoritah you envision. It is also clear you avoided the other item I mentioned which is much wider in scope. I could go on, at length, at the number of threads created on this forum that discuss topics related to harassment and stalking that goes on in this community. Or the fact this very thread has had a fair number of bad faith actors in it. With that stated, it will never be enough to convince the king of the majoritah to understand what they rule over is not something to be proud of.
By the way, it would be important to note you are equally as responsible to the great community's reputation on the forums as we all are. But alas, perhaps this Miqo'te cannot see the forest through the trees...
Maybe you weren't but there are two things you and your likes are doing:
1. Being captain obvious. Do you think anyone needs you to point out toxic raiders? We know about them already. Parse culture is very well known.
2. Being deceptive and intimidating. There's nothing about your warning useful to anyone. It's easy to get started with prog, the game has tons of resources and networks, even if you don't make friends in game.
Your post is just weird bootlicking and honestly a bit of a veiled threat.
People participating in the strike and or privatizing their info have nothing to fear at all. If someone's going to exclude you based on that, let them. The raiding scene is in no way a monolith.
I feel as if this point doesn't get brought up enough. Little details like this help sell the job fantasy and it speaks to the general lack of polish and care the healer role gets. Things like Physis 1 being 15y and Physis 2 being 30y even though at the level you get Physis 1, Kerachole is already 30y. Ruin 2 being core to SCH gameplay but still has the same animation from ARR. It's hard to argue in the dev's favour when BLM has a unique animation for manaward but the new barrier healer doesn't even have an animation for it's shield effect.
It's a minor detail that doesn't matter in the end but it just adds to the skepticism that the devs don't care about healers.
What do you mean? You get a cylinder shield animation when you use E Diagnosis and a square shield when you use Haima. AoE shielding isn't as obvious but some like Kerachole do show a brief circle animation around a player. Holos and Panhaima are a little hard to tell, though.
They are talking about how when you get hit, a VFX appears on your character showing the barrier. Examples below.

Huh, never really noticed that. I got curious so I went out and tried shielding and letting some things hit on me. I'm not seeing anything on Holy Shelltron on hits. HoC does seem to get one small thing on the first hit but I never saw anything after that. Divine Benison and Aquaveil don't have anything either. So it seems application is a bit inconsistent already.
Just tried Arcane Crest too and didn't see anything. It may be more they don't do it anymore on new abilities in general than just not on specific classes or roles.
I am quite sure both Holy Shelltron and HoC has an effect on hit, just that they are limited to the initial 4s duration where you have an extra 10% mitigation or something similar. I'm guessing what Wolfius is referring to is the breaking of Arcane Crest, which would require the whole shield to be depleted. All the tank mits are added this expansion so I doubt the VFX is limited to legacy abilities. I tested this with Heart of Stone and it did not have any effects.
EDIT: just tested this and yes, both Holy Shelltron and HoC has an effect on hit but is limited to the 4s. HoC even has a sound that goes off when you get hit.

With all the bad faith posts the healer strike had in the past, it's easy to assume new posts are more of the same. But that isn't helping the cause. Please keep assuming good faith until clearly proven otherwise for each individual poster.
If you keep paying your sub this means nothing. Plenty of folks will fill in for healing who don't care. You really want to get Squares attention convince a few 100,000 people to turn off auto renew on their subscription on 6.28.24. Give up your housing and FC's. Show them you mean real business. Otherwise not playing a specific job but still paying to play is going to amount to jack and spit.
We already have that though, given the primary motivation for wall-to-walls seems to be everyone treating every dungeon like a speedrun because they have "better things to do". The irony is that mandatory wall-to-walls also causes people to demand more DPS from healers (because you don't have to heal if everything is already dead) rather than more healing from healers (to help survive what would normally be a risky encounter), and instead all the heals get poured into the tanks and DPS for self-sustain and are the ones who determine the speed of the dungeon most of the time with what gets pulled and what doesn't. And if the healer protests/can't keep up? They're likely to be ignored/kicked (I know I was) because it's not like the other three really needed them anyway due to current design choices, it was a courtesy that the game forced them to be present to start the duty, but it was never an obligation to actually keep them afterwards. Hell, between the DPS who pulled too soon or the healer who didn't DPS as much as they "should" have, which one is more likely to get pointed out and criticized?
I started with Endwalker so I don't know which came first, that the devs pushed for wall-to-walls and players went with it, or players started doing it and the devs attempted to accommodate the players (or at least the tank and DPS ones).
Ah yes "just unsub" argument #753,589,864
No I want to play Viper and Pictomancer so I will play Viper and Pictomancer. I would play healer but FFXIV sadly lacks a healer role. I think it's bold to assume everyone here owns a house, or are you just desperate for one and trying to free up bids?
