ENDWALKER SPOILERS: Story and side story content going forward

I'd like to cover some of the upcoming stories and side stories we'll (probably) be getting come the future patches.

Raid: Pandaemonium

It seems the teaser implied that Pandemonium is a being, and not a location. It will be interesting to see of Lahabrea is our main associate for the story. Hopefully it fleshes him out more.

Alliance Raid: Myths of the Realm

Emet-Selch teased it when he mentioned that we didn't even know who they really are. Seeing as he was on the Convocation, I think the implication is that the Twelve aren't just the Convocation misremembered through the ages, otherwise why would he tease it as a mystery?

Trials: No spoilers here, but it's looking like 6.1 will have the EX version of the final boss, so the side story trial should start on 6.2. However, seeing as they're changing how the MSQ is normally done, I wonder if they'll move an epic "story trial" fight to 6.5 or not, or even make the side content all of the future trials. Personally, I'm hoping for the Elemental Archfiends from FF4, but that does bring to question as to what they may be.

Relic weapons: Chances are we'll have another set of instanced zones, so it'll be interesting to see where we're going this time.

Beast tribes: We know two tribes (Loporrits and Matanga), but the third is anyone's guess. I'm betting the Matanga quests will feature the more aggressive tribe we see in the Azim Steppe.

Crafter/gatherer endgame: No clue, but I wonder if this will crossover with the traditional city rebuild content again, and if they're going to do a new version of the Ishgard Restoration or go somewhere new.

Island Sanctuary: Probably won't have a whole lot of story to it, but it will still be interesting to see.

MSQ: Obviously, we've known the MSQ will be going in a new direction.

I'm curious to see if it becomes more anthology like, with us exploring some of the mysteries Emet-Selch teased us with.

Something involving G'raha, Corvos, and the Allagan Eye is extremely likely. Assuming they aren't going to have him do a sudden 180 turn and settle down as a nunh to pass on the family legacy (which would be gross and weird), it will probably involve the oft-referenced expiration date on his Allagan superpowers, which would better tie into the story's larger theme of finding a new purpose once one has finished.

Corvos is going to feature somewhere somehow because it was being mentioned constantly throughout the MSQ, and even got some mentions in the reaper quests too. Could be trials, could be relic weapons, but it will be in something.

Post credits scene

our main ally in Pandemonium looks like it's going to be Elidibus, since past-in-Elpis Elidibus was talking about it. As my favorite Ascian, that really excites me. But hopefully Lahabrea is present too, he needs the characterization.

I really hope the Twelve raids finally reveal what Midgardsormr was guarding.

I think Corvos will be the place where we get the relic.

Regarding the beast tribes, I would honestly be surprised if either the Eas and/or Omicrons aren't one of them. Actually, after going through the end-game dungeons, I would bet on the Omicrons.
I would however be surprised if we get the Loporitts. They are already incredibly relevant to the story compared to any other tribe to be honest...

For the trials, before launch I was hoping for the 4 Fiends. Now?....I'd rather have...I don't know...3 of the Ascians (if they are not in the raid already).
There are still many of them which we did not deal with and which could actually still be around. But I hope they won't play a role in the MSQ going forward...

Regarding crafting, well...One could say Garlemald restoration, but that would require MSQ completion.(with Alphi and Ali saying they are going to help putting Garlemald back on its feet). So that would be a better fit in 7.0 I guess. So...I don't know...Maybe there won't be an end-game for them this time...

I'd also bet on the Omicrons as beast tribe, it'd make sense with the side quest where the Loporrit tells that one omicron to open a cafe and learn about other races. We got the Ghordons or whatever there, but no other races, a beast tribe quest to add more races seems likely, otherwise that was left really open.

If we take the Ishgard Restoration as any sort of precedent, we rebuilt part of a city that was 2 expansions behind the then-current expansion, we could be moving onto something related to Stormblood. Seeing as we already rebuilt Doma, perhaps some kind of Ala Mhigo-related content.

I noticed this same thing and thought it might be where our expansion Extreme Trials come from in 5.2 and beyond. They're definitely going to be adding more civilizations; it doesn't make sense for the menu to only include the one race unless they plan to add more examples.

Something I noticed about the post credits raid tease

Elidibus is wearing the white robes so he should be Emissary (plus they referenced the short story with Azem and the grapes, and he was already Elidibus in that too) but he has a generic white mask instead of his red Convocation one. I wonder what's up.

My thoughts...

The red mask seems to be occurring when Elidibus was returned as the primal version, I don't think it was ever established that he wore it during his time there?

The scene that image is from is from Elidibus's point of view, so of course he wouldn't be in it the image himself. If you count there's only 13 there.

I suppose technically you're right that we haven't seen Ancient Elidibus with a red mask, but it would be odd if he was the only one who didn't, and his ghost has one.

Hmm ok, but that's what I was trying to explain.

It could be the red mask formed AFTER he left Zodiak as a "primal" himself. So it would make sense his ghost form also had it. I mean we really didn't see "REAL" Emet in the trial just fuzzy Ancient one. We don't really see their "pure" selves as shades/ghosts

Ascian dress is different from Ancient One dress as well

But........

We do know about the red masks before Zodiark: Emet literally wears one in Elpis. Considering every convocation member we've seen seemed to have red masks, it stands to reason the seat of Elidibus did too, even pre-Zodiark.
So that would suggest it's an Elidibus who either gave up the seat, or before he took the seat (which poses continuity problem, about the grapes!).

Though it could be possible the scene was well before the volcano incident? Elpis didn't just suddenly exist. The scene regarding Pandimonium is about regarding his FIRST meeting with the WoL so I think it predates.

And the precursor to the Ishgard restoration is the Doman Restoration, which was also in Stormblood.

I’m hoping the Ea get a beast tribe segment, I would love to know more about them. I feel the fact they have hostile versions of themselves might help that be a thing, but who knows.

Given the mentions for Corvos I could see that as a post game thing like Bozja or just building up for an expansion thing. It feels more like a Bozja though, unless they really want to go all in on it, which the potential is there.

For trials nothing stands out as an easy thing barring maybe alien stuff, but it’s not like the trial raids for the last two expansions were super obvious until they happened. For FFs we have a fair number of options still to explore so if it’s reference they could use a bunch that haven’t had that much focus. The idea of fighting a bunch of Ascians to address the ones still out there has some merit, it’s kind of weird that they just… poofed without any real explanation.

Raids should be fun though. Curious what they’ll do with Pandemonium, I kind of had different expectations, and the Twelve are just the right number for a Raid so I’m expecting that.

Yes it was...but not what I was getting at...

The final cutscene regarding Pandemonium from what I'm looking at predates, OUR time travel meeting with Emet and company. Elidibus not wearing red mask in that cutscene is probably before he took leadership and is regarding our time and likely influence into why he became leader of the 14. I am trying to explain the perceived Paradox. So I think more time travel hijinks may be in way?

There's probably a simpler reason.

Based on Emet's reference to the volcano when Venat asks how Azem has been doing, Elidibus is already Emissary at this point. I have a question, though.

Would you wear the red mask even if you wanted to travel around incognito? I'd be surprised if they let Emissaries go off on their own to explore spooky castles with dread slumbering beasts within. This seems a bit like trying to sneak into to a dungeon with a crown on your head.

Hmm but there's still many questions...

Logistically speaking why/how are we back in Elpis anyways once we move from that part of the story. Is it a fixed time loop where we arrived conveniently when Emet and Hythlodaeus spotted us? Does time even move forward till final days when we revisit? Is it possible it's not as linear as we think? With Emet's magic we were given a corporeal form which stays, after he's long gone much like Hydaelyn's mark.

I suppose by not having the red mask is incognito but what about the white robe?, When did we have time to see Elidibus? When we were at the Tower when he made the gate he did mention he saw us (not certain if he meant present day us or Azem/both?) but when in time did we just have time to visit while he was incognito?

But that also means that Azem somehow knew that we would come. As if they had knowledge of the future.
So, basically, they are telling us that Azem has the same gender as our protagonist, but also knows what will happen in our character's life.
As far as we know, the only one who knew the future up to this point was Venat, because we told her about it.

Back in 5.3, I remember many players saying we are not Azem, we just inherited his/her soul. But actually...I am starting to wonder...

It certainly leads to the question of our soul, and how it could become complete again before we travel back.

There's a simple reason for that.

Venat told Azem about what happened in Elpis. She likely told our past self everything that transpired as one of the few people who could be trusted, and when Elidibus said he was going to check Pandaemonium, Azem told him to not enter until the "escort" arrives. Since Azem can't help but be drawn to the world's problems, our past self knows us showing up is 100% going to happen simply because of that "problem magnet" we have. That of course is me guessing. But if I traveled the world and knew I always got dragged into things, I'd know for a fact that my future self would get dragged into it too.

The role quests have differing dialogue based on whether or not you've already finished the MSQ but they mention people are still turning into beasts even though the source of the Final Days has been stopped.

It makes me wonder if that's going to come up in the MSQ and whether the fallout is going to naturally fade away with time or if we'll have to resort to a more direct method of purifying the tainted dynamis as a plot hook for future 6.x MSQs.

We're overdue to get Dragons for a Beast Tribe reputation grind.

I think it'd play in somewhat well with Estinien being called to Radz-at-Han by Vytra, perhaps deciding to finally go check in on the last of the First Brood, since their final brood brother has been silent for so long, even ignoring a call to save the world from the Final Days that the rest all answered, even Midgardsormir giving reply despite sleeping.

So my money is on Loporrits, Matanga, and Dragons.

Similarly, I feel like we'll be seeing all of the Scions in different end-game content. As someone else suggested earlier, crafters helping to rebuild part of Garlemald with Alphinaud and Alisae, perhaps Y'shtola getting involved in us with Pandaemonium, Thancred and Urianger in the trials, and also as someone suggested, G'raha and Corvos being our new Relic forging outlet.

My guess is that it will cease happening with the completion of the role quests and the slaying of the remaining blasphemes.

I think we'll bet Matanga, Loporrits...and something in Ultima Thule. I feel like the way the optional level 90 dungeon quest ends is setting up a beast tribe quest centered there. Which could include Omicrons, Dragons and Ea, though likely picking one of them as the focal point.

Similar to the Ananta beast tribe quests were really more about the resistance as a whole but used an ananta as the focal chacter. Or how the SHB beast tribe quests focused on a tribe but also involved other denizens of those zones int heir story, same for the Namazu and the Xaela.

If we see dragons involved I think it will be the shade dragons in UT rather than Radz-at-Hahn. Not only because I expect Thavnair to be the zone for the Matanga and thus not likely to have a second tribe focused on Thavnair, but also because it'd be kind of weird to have a bunch more dragons show up there suddenly when Vytra has been alone there for so long.

The problem with that is.

The guiding star IS gender specific, not Gender Fluid to the whatever our character in game is. Which I'm thinking is Lahabrea I suspect because this is the elephant in the room, that the MagicMike Memory Device 2002 introduced in this story is probably going into play. I mean REALLY we have a MaGuffin STILL sitting in a zone we can apparently revisit? It wasn't destroyed afaik. I also find it odd that Elidibus trying to remember things during that one cutscene seems to disorient him more, and wouldn't be surprised if said device may have been used on him as well.

Also speaking of content going forward specially raid

I am not going to be one bit surprised if Kairos ends up as some kind of raid boss or trial. I can see TIMESTOPs a la Alexander coming back

I chalked his memory loss to refusing to look at his set of convocation memory crystals. After all 12k years is an easy amount of time to forget some things.

Time to go in blind once more with Pandæmonium and new alliance raid when we get there xD also if we do get another zone for endwalker relic weapons, i really cant wait to see! If we get , that is. But everything else im looking forward to in future patches :)

I'm expecting Omicrons to end up being the third "beast tribe" given they've adopted a cultural salvage operation as their new directive in the wake of the Stigma Dreamscape dungeon and that progressing their story will see the Nekropolis gradually filled with simulacrums of various extinct races.

I reckon those dragons won't be too happy if they learn that their destroyers are holed up just a couple malms from where they are, though...

No, for the most part I know a lot of his memory loss was due to him entering Zodiark, and he admits as much and we know the refusal to read his memory crystal did not help..

Going on tho...

He thanks the WoL to help regain memories, though they are clouded. But the fact he remembered OUR presence in Elpis with such disorientation like it was shown in here - https://youtu.be/05Dsij325HI?t=338

He mentions the improbability as a lingering trace. There's also the fact even as the heart of Zodiark it's strange his memory was gone yet Hydaelyn's was not? https://youtu.be/FnaqXPQ3WCU?t=1396 talks about Aetheric blasts that affect memory and of course the convenient plot point later about being returned to the underworld people have memories restored. With Hermes involved with Zodiark's creation...and a memory device that has made one significant appearance...and the fact the Convocation knows about said device. I would not be surprised if it does show up again

Are the memories of us in Elpis recovered due to us having gone there in what would be his past? Or are they recovered because if he had his memories altered by said device that they're now unblocked?

As to me at least it looked like he was about to say we hadn't been there, until he had that distortion.

That's my guess as well, especially with EW not really having a third beast tribe around. Though they could always throw us a curveball. But that whole quest after SD really did feel like the setup to something like a beat tribe quest that would gradually fill that dead area up with life again.
