So completely ignoring musketeer questions to the producer?

Pretty much says it all..

A lot of people posted questions about musketeer in the questions to the producer live letter thread and it got blown off.

Just say hey were not doing it and let the people that are sticking around just for that class cancel already.

I would rather not know this ....THIS far in advance. A surprise is a nice thing xc

To be fair, it's been almost 4 years now...we should have SOME basic ideas on it by now lol.

Wrong. He stated jobs will be released in patches prior to the expansion. Check the muleteer thread.

Musketeer is not Archer, it needs guns not bows, no new weapons till expansion.

Yoshi said quit a few things that haven't happened. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get new jobs/races until an expansion. You can still cancel btw and then just check news on the game once a month to see when they're adding the class you want to play.

Yeah somehow my phone thinks it can spell better than me.. Anyways. Spouting things about musketeer and then focusing things on vanity and gardening and pretty dress up barbie game reborn.

Remember warhammer online that came with the book with like 18 classes in it and then all of a sudden half of them arent in the game? Yeah its starting to feel like that for a few of us.

Please enlighten us. Since some of us that do indeed scour the internet for musketeer info have never seen him say anything about it since after they took over and started working on ARR.

ALSO: Musketeer isnt a "new" class/job. Guns are in the game. The guild is in the game. Animations are in the game. So hmm yeah "new" jobs/classes not till expansion 4 year old job/class no excuse.

Except, there is no site for FFXIV stating musketeer is a playable class in the game. We have the guild in the game, which can be seen as laying the groundwork, but it could just be a pointless npc guild. I seriously doubt it, but it's possible.

That still doesn't say playable classes. Just says guilds for classes in the game, regardless of if we can play them or not. I'd be willing to bet Merlwyb is a musketeer. Hence, the guild.

Yup you are right. No sites at all.

however you know that the cities were rebuilt right? So if you arent even close to adding musketeer why even put it in the game for launch? If they laid the groundwork building the game and just put it on the back burner they should say something.

Don't forget Half-Life 3 and Hoenn remakes on the Musketeer-tomorrow-troupe!

I hope you're actually going off-topic and stating this here due to the lack of a PM system on the forums.

It would be too hilarious if you were somehow implying the Musketeer kiddos had anything original to do instead of creating new threads almost every day asking if it's confirmed/playable/implemented.

More than likely we will have to wait until the X-pac for new classes, hell, we might even get 3 new Classes with Jobs and a new Race.

So if you dont like the threads why post in them? And then repeat the same post every time with a small variation in wording.

Anyways you dont seem to get the point of this thread in itself. Questions were asked to the producer numerous likes. Completely ignored. However we get questions answered that have 4-5 likes. So in short. Dont like the threads dont read them? Dont post in them?

Thanks for putting words into my mouth but no. He says the same thing in every thread with the word musketeer. He clearly does not care for the class. But yet he post in all the threads some negative remark about the thread itself. So yeah maybe if he came up with something new I wouldnt have posted that but he hasnt so it stands.

Now just so you know this is my secondary account my main got banned for life from the forums for unknown reasons. I have all classes to 50. I bought the original game for musketeer. I played a gun ranger way back in the day in XI then went on the corsair. I like gun classes and the FF lore. So yeah I am playing JUST waiting on musketeer. Well I wouldnt call it playing since i only log on mondays.

I don't doubt you, but it still blows me away. If playing a gun class was the only thing I was interested in, I would just stop playing (and paying) until it came out. Obviously you can spend your money and time however you like, but that's wild.

No i get what you are saying and in a way i kinda agree that I should take a long break. But how does taking a break show the developers that we want a class that should be in the game period? That at least to me feels like the main reason these types of thread pop up daily.

If not posting on a forum for the game that we are playing about a job thats "coming..?" then where else should we go? This is their main forum and we have seen that they read some of the threads. They apparently listen although selective hearing.

I'm afraid it's starting to look like that will be the case. Perhaps Yoshi P intended to add a new Class and Job to the game during a patch, but the releases are just not working out that way?

I was really hoping for at least a peak at some new Class or Job in the works. Even a rough sketch as a confirmation of what was coming down the pipe would have been nice. :(

Didn't understand why musketeer still being omitted. That job in XI are amongst those in high demand. Haven't got the chance to play musketeer in XI, so was hoping to play one in XIV. ^^;

I don't think he was implying that only people in absolute agreement should post. I think he was implying that one specific poster should grow up if he wants to participate in legitimate discussion and find other places to flex his e-cred. Most of his post history is sarcastic one-liners blatantly insulting OPs, used for like-baiting or with .gifs from reddit/4chan. Although to give them the benefit of the doubt, I imagine after 400+ posts on this forum anyone would become bitter/jaded as all hell.

On topic though I think it would be cool if they threw Musketeer fans a bone but I'm not expecting much anytime soon. It will likely be the first new class/job but who knows when that will actually get implemented (I understand a lot of the resources for the class are already in-game). If I had to wager a guess I would say within the next two major patches or at the longest, the first expansion.

Ignore? Yoshi replied already a few LIVE Letters ago. He basically said that musketeer was one of the afterburns of Tanaka, a class he put in the lore but never actually cared to create. Yoshida stated that they have other, more pressing priorities than another physical ranged dps class (like more casters, scout-based melee class and of course more tanks never hurt) and that Musketeer is not planned and it's not going to be planned anytime soon.

Are you unhappy? Blame Tanaka for putting that in the game without a care to begin with. We're all just peacefully ignoring its existence.

We still have 2.25, no? 2.3 and so on. These patches are still "prior" to the expansion. So nope, you can't expect it to come yet (if ever they will be).

They'll talk about it when they are good and ready to. There was never a promise to release it by a certain point in time. Patience is a virtue.

Yoshi-P said new jobs in patches, new classes in expansions. Think about that for a little while.





Have you thought about it? That means potentially a new 2nd job on a class in a future patch, but you won't be seeing a new base class until the first expansion at the earliest.

Yes he said NEW jobs. Musketeer is not a new job. I repeat it is NOT a new job/class. The other jobs/classes dont even have a guild or lore in the game. I understand why they would need a expansion. Musketeer not so much. I though about it for a "little while"

I remember glancing at a translation during the live letter stating they have no info on new classes at the moment.

This was sometime before they showed the tanking mounts, but I was half paying attention.

Musketeer is a class, not a job. There's a Musketeer's Guild and so far, every guild has been for a class, not a job.

He already addressed musketeer in a previous live letter. Probably more than one to be honest because people keep asking, as made obvious by this thread.

He said there are greater priorities for class diversity and shared his thoughts on what would be coming next. What we've been led to believe by Yoshi P thus far is that a scout class/job is coming next. He said musketeer will eventually be added, with the guild in the game!e already and a lot of demand for it, but that it was very low on the priority list and it would be a while before we saw it.

That wrapped up the whole musketeer discussion for the short term, or rather it should have. People still keep asking about it though, which is fine, but expecting an answer is silly. If nothing has changed regarding musketeer, and he has nothing new to share, then he'll chose other questions.

Whatever. Jobs come from classes that have a guild. Sorry for mixing up this stupid system of class to job as it really doesnt make much of a difference anyways. Who actually plays a class at 50? You are just nerfing yourself stat wise. Anyways its already in the game.
