Well, you don't exacty go from Kugane to the BA lobby by accident, if you just randomly are taking a portal when a premade goes in, I don't know why you'd do this instead of joining an organized group and not pissing anyone off.

And when I asked the people on discord if that's a reportable statement, they mentioned that it's not, and we should just ignore you and that you're not doing anything against TOS.

I'm saying sniping annoys people. Even so, they shouldn't be trying to kill people, but sniping DOES draw some ire. Most who snipe intentionally know this and simply don't care.

To rephrase, I don't know why someone who is IN the discord at one point doesn't just join a group instead of taking a portal from another and going solo.

my only beef with this narrative, is the regular player feels they have to apologize for playing the game as intended. he didnt snipe anything. he did exactly what any one going in BA is supposed to do. Enter with an intention to co operate for victory. My main problem with discord is the consistent ideaology that they have dibs on portals, as evidenced in your story about the "sniper"

We had a notorious sniper try to snipe someone and fail, he sent them a tell "You're the first out of 28 to beat me. Good job."

It means that you should not blame your failure to perform mechanics on other players.

Discord its a cancer for BA and Hydatos at all, atleast on Chaos DC.
The other day I ''sniped''? a portal on a public dungeon and was a free portal, and people start to make comments that didnt felt so comfortable.
Not just BA, also the last weeks people attitude dropped in quality a lot even in casual content... and Im tired of report people(whit reason) everyday.
Moved to JP DC, after 3 hours I was facing Ozma, did a mistake and died but maybe next i will clear, it was the second time i enter BA after the Twins also note i dont know japanese so there was a heavy language barrier.
They are ages far on respect than EU DC.

That's just me announcing my intentions of joining BA with everyone else. You guys are completely free to not join. I am doing content the way it was intended

Just got to Hydatos, and I have noticed a lot of bad behavior. Its filled with mostly raiders, and people that don't care to help.

One time I shouted LFG NM TRAIN, and got dropped for asking for a ride.

For me I said this before since I do BA for fun, I tell people "I want you guys to get in before me, I am not a priority, I am here to have fun but if someone takes the portal before me I will not be mad."
I do BA for fun but in our data center its different from other data centers. We like to work together and get things together, we have openly accepted people into the server. Yes, there is toxicity but not everyone is toxic. I helped someone get to 60 who wants to BA, got him the top with the cloth for free and helped him on his way because that's what I love to do, I love to help others instead of not giving them a chance. I am kinda like the guy that joined. Even though we didn't use the word snipe but take a portal instead and he didn't know, he was light-hearted and said sorry, he wasn't forced too but he said it without being told to say sorry. He was light-hearted like me and just didn't know like when I was 52 and almost took a portal but..level 52 so couldn't.

because discord is not simply about communication, its about organization and filtering groups of people. Basically, the only way some people wish to do BA, is by just entering a portal and trying for a win. The way discord prefers you do it, is by signing into a queue, being selected by a leader from an appropriate group, trying to get into a specific instance for X amount of time.

yes, a person like this poster isnt too concerned with fact it pisses people off. The price of not pissing people off is too high for them. Most players arent like them, and just choose not to take part in the content, but the poster is actually valid in how they approach the content, they are just rejecting the NA meta. Takes a lot of balls to go into a situation you know is going to be hostile, but on paper they dont appear to be doing anything technically wrong.

I said that one specific type of public content: linear raid zones with no objectives for anyone except the one big group, doesn’t work. GW2 is an MMO-lite with fundamentally different game systems. SE will never take action because its not behavior that is against the rules. You can try report it, but GM's won't take any action and you would just be wasting your time. Demand all you want, no one is obligated to let you stay in their party.

This may already have been posted, but indeed harassment is reportable, as is breaking the ToS. Ostensibly, that includes using 3rd party software to affect gameplay. Discord may fall under that category, and it's not impossible that a report on 3rd party software use by a group would actually be taken seriously (though it could just as easily not).

Discord does not fall under the "Third Party Software" rule of the ToS. That only applies to applications that interact with and/or modify the game, game client, or game files. Discord does none of those.

Legally, that wording doesn't preclude unfair game play advantages gained from 3rd party software outside of direct code changes. Providing some specific examples to that effect doesn't preclude the broader implication as well.

In =/=within. The clause along with others speaks to unfair advantage or unintended effect for game play, not solely game altering applications. FFLOGs, for example, is a 3rd party tool that is unequivocally against ToS as stated by the team, yet it doesn't change any code in the game.

The point is, an argument could reasonably be made that they are using a 3rd party software tool to affect game play in a way not intended by SE. They may or may not see it that way or respond to it that way, but taking it seriously is not inconceivable.

Well, I certainly don't believe any of this but if it did happen, report it to the Discord group mods. They take these things very seriously.

Don't believe a word Mirabell says. :v She goes out of her way to screw people over every chance she gets. I can't stand her. I'm just glad that I finished BA so I never have to deal with her again. That was the true reward for clearing it, even more so than the mount. I never have to see her again because we're servers apart (thank god!).

I'll add to the reports of Mirabelle going out of her way in trolling BA groups inside Hydatos. She's rude about it in shout and actively goes out of her way to snag portals from premades screaming that its "how the content was intended", despite people politely asking her not to.

I don't know what's been going on with the Arsenal Discord lately. All I do know is at the start, when it was all invested raiders, a lot of Legends, Ultimate Legends ... It wasn't toxic. It was organised, it was fun and it was fair. These high end raiders continued to help people out for a long time. Seems to me that as soon as the more casual, more entitled playerbase started flooding in that the problems started to arise.

I think a bit of the problems arise because BA, like Eureka as a whole, may have an ambiguous shelf life. We do not know how long people will continue to do Eureka, especially with Shadowbringers coming. How will Square keep this content relevant? Even if they make the content easier, will it still be possible to complete? Diadem did not set a good precedence for this, and that's way there is uncertainty on Baldesion Arsenal's future.

So when you have that element of uncertainty, people are more enticed. Everyone wants a chance to get the Ozma mount before it becomes inaccessible, by way of Eureka becoming dead content. We don't know what SE's plans are, we don't know if BA will ever allow raises or if it will change to a true queue system. We don't know if they will completely ignore Eureka in the future, as they did with Diadem and other previous content. All we know is what we are dealing with now. And right now, people want that Ozma mount before it may become harder to get. It's not an ideal situation for anyone.

This probably has more to do with the amount of people rather than the specific type of people. The bigger a group is, the more likely it is that there are bad eggs. It's also easier to hide in a big group. Smaller groups are easier to control.
