Titan Extreme Ping check rather than EXP players check

IDK - I understand and have experienced shitty lags before because I live in South-East Asia and I started the game in a NA Server. 290-400ms pings are common for me even on fibre broadband. When I shifted to JP Server, my pings are always under 100ms

So considering from SEA to NA is almost one side to another side of the globe already and on fibre it is about 290-400ms, I'm really wondering what kind of internet connection is 2500-7000ms? (I'm being honest here, I really don't know because I've never experienced such pings nor have knowledge about what causes such pings)

In the open world, if there's no one around, my ping times are around 400-600ms for me. It's only once I get into the Primal fights that it gets weird. With everyone standing at the start and buffing it'll be like 400-600ms as per "normal". Once the fight starts, it'll move up to around 1500ms, and then it's like 100ms gets added per minute after that. Most times, mid-fight, it'll be around 2500-2800ms or so as a fairly "steady" thing, and normally I compensate for that fairly well by pre-moving and anticipation and knowing the patterns of what's coming up, including flat out running into effect detonations on my screen to avoid what's going to appear under me 3 seconds later, because I know that they're actually finished as far as the server is concerned. The times that I do get hit though, most typically it'll be reading anywhere between 4000-7000ms, having spiked that high unexpectedly. It's even worse in CT, I've played through that with steady 12-16s ping times before.

Once the fight ends, bingo, straight back to a "normal" 400-600ms.

Go figure. I personally suspect serious traffic shaping by my ISP.

What's truly bizarre though, is that I can be on TeamSpeak with my friends in the USA, and I've had them tell me that some enemy effect has been cast, and then it'll appear on my screen two seconds later. I mean, let's think about that for a moment. The traffic from the game server has left towards me and my friend at the same time (presumably). My USA friend can see the effect, then speak about it, and his voice travels from the USA to me, and I hear him saying it, a good two seconds before my game displays it.

Actually, the more I think about it as I write that, it's almost definitely ISP traffic shaping that's happening.

Highly possible. Some ISPs tends to oversell their bandwidth and thus resorted to rather serious traffic control/throttling measures.

Hope you have some other ISPs to move to.

i play on ps3 thru wireless, i live on the west coast. beat titan twice tonight even with the lag spikes

I used to believe the same thing, as I didn't have lag issues. This was before 2.1. Now ironically after they fixed the server side checks, I do have lag issues. And while I won't say it's only at Titan, that's where it's most obvious, and most unforgiving. What's really frustrating is that it's not consistent at all. On some days I have no lag, and well jolly good, got my EMPs done for the week.. and on some days I get spikes that are so bad I have to move before I see the visuals on WotL. How does thread date have to do with your statement? You said yourself that that you had difficulty dodging at 0.1s delay. If you want an updated statement then edit your OP.

Btw, for the above posters about ping >1000 ms. If you really are playing at above 1000 ms, everyone on your screen should not be moving smoothly, they would be stuttering tonnes and everything would be jittery as well and no you can't complete titan ex with that ping unless it's a carry. at 7000 ms, you should have lagged out.

People with half decent internet are elitist now? It's 2014, if you can't get internet that isn't terrible then I don't know what to say. You're going to encounter similar problems in all 3 extremes, Turn 5, and no doubt parts of 2.2 aswell.

if you are... that is the reason people are complaining about so much lag. they are the cause of 3-5 second rubberband periods every 40 seconds. go read up on it. lag isnt a "lol ur bad" issue as people seem to think. sure lag sucks, and its generally beatable with lag. but not rubber banding, and thats the kind of lag most verizon/cox/twc/comcast players are getting..

Lol, I cleared the primals within the first days of release and I experienced no lag. (I play at 350 ish ms) Regardless, as I said, if you want an updated statement, edit your OP. (though regardless how you try edit it, you said yourself that you were dying to a 0.1s lag, which isn't even lag because that's the server response time lol) Let's settle for this however, you were bad when you posted this, then you improved like everyone else.

Oh btw, if you wanna bring out titan ex numbers, i've killed titan ex more than 10 times in a day.
