i'll probably be getting in 2.0 just more tedious BS thats all luck. hopefully its more of a solid process in 2.0
the game need content built on work not a damn drop rate.
Here are the weapons. Some of it is slightly mistranslated and the hidden "special" like increased jump damage isn't displaying.

Really?!
First of all, people keep calling these AF weapons. They are Relics. Relics were godly weapons in XI if not the best depending on job. When cap in XI was raised beyond 75 there were ways added to raise the power of your relic, if you had one. AF weapons in XI in most cases were dropped lol.
Second, people keep saying that these will become obsolete when cap is raised...who is to say they will not grow with you? There could be weapon limit break quests. Also look at those stats! Gae Bolg Mine!
If you had a relic in XI you know how hard they were to get. Constant runs of dynamis which could be likened to hamlet. One dynamis run every what 72 hours? Only to get how much currency? Which usually went to the sponsor, since it was 1 Mil to enter. One run probably wasn't enough to even upgrade it out of stage 1! They had a total of what 5 stages? Also you needed a full alliance(36 ppl) to even win efficiently. People sit here and whine about grinding something with a lot less people and a lot less cool down time. Go dynamis then you can whine about how "Hard" or "Boring" it is. Do you want SE to hand you everything? It's the same, no it's actually easier!
If you read polls. 28.8% of players have a DoL high enough to even enter hamlet. 20.3% of players have a DoH high enough to even enter. One of the best strategies to consistently win hamlet requires at least 2-4 of these classes. Do the math. What % of players are ignoring like half this games content? So whiners shouldn't have to lvl a DoL or DoH for hamlet but I have to lvl thm/blm to 50 for like every primal?
Players whine about "There isn't enough end-game content." We're lvl 50...this isn't end-game!
Sorry people. I'm just sick of everyone wanting this game easier...it's already ten times easier than XI ever was.
Some of the GC Lieutenant's stuff is lookin' better than half of these Relics.
yeah it easier but were getting tedious & pure luck to obtain theses. anything on a drop rate should be on a NM not a story driven item, give us things to do and put in work not grind forever and still end up with ZERO.Quote:

being lucky does not = challenge
It's also 10x as dull as XI was, and that's the fundamental issue. There are plenty of ways to incorporate a long, difficult journey for obtaining relic weapons that don't involve the mindless spamming of dull content that's reliant on luck of the draw. That's simply poor, unappealing design
The special bonuses on the weapons are:
DRG: Increased Jump DMG
PLD: Increased Spirits Within DMG
SHI: None
MNK: Increased Shoulder Tackle DMG
BRD: Increased Song Duration
WHM: Increased Holy DMG
BLM : Increased Flare DMG over time
MRD: Reduced Vengeance Recast
These folks are relics.
Not asking for easy, just asking for less grind
And you could easily get outta dyna with enough currency for stage 1 unless you had no idea what to do in dyna. Dyna was also alot more fun. And there were relic gears that dropped as well so even if you were not the one getting the weapon you could be one working on getting thf hands or rdm hats and such. It was multi-functional. At least a few ppl always came out of dyna with something they wanted/needed in every run I ever did in xi. Cant say that here.
And yes look at those stats but again, not worth the grind for me. With a full time job and rl friends and things to do I can do without 800 runs to hamlet. If they made it more challenging, engaging and fun that may change my mind and I would perhaps put time into it, meaning logging in more and playing for longer periods. But just grinding...meh. I may not have a relic weapon but like Ive said in the past, having a full set of darklight and now a relic weapon will not impress me, I will be more apt to think, oh look at that poor player with no life outside of the game, must be lonely only talking to real ppl via vent.
If you played FFXI you know they had trial of the magians to upgrade your relics whenever the cap was raised beyond 75. SE could do the same thing here, its that the trails of the magians were very tedious and boring. In its original form it was like use your WS 1500 on mobs that give exp, kill 1500 mobs with your weapon skill, kill 2000 mobs with your weapon skill, kill 2500 mobs with this weapon skill.
Then SE decided to divide those number of kills by 10 and make it much easier after a lot of people wasted time on it.
I really don't like the idea of upgrading like relics though. There should be newer weapons to go after at different caps not just keep upgrading an old one though tedious quests.
What exactly does the "Refresh" skill on the MNK weapons do, I wonder?
Other stats can be found here;

So you insult me? I have a FT Job 5 days a week so w/e lol. I'll refer you below. 800 runs?! Do ppl make up numbers?
Luck? Can you read?
I really don't mind having to play hamlet defense to get them. Otherwise what is the point of it?
Don't do it, don't ask SE to make it worth it for you. Trust me, anyone who will want these weapons will 'grind it out' because they'll want to obtain it. Just have to face facts, not everything is designed for everyone to get and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that because there's still plenty and will be plenty of stuff designed for everyone, some things just won't let you have your cake and eat it too.
Good thing XIV doesn't have korean mmo drop rates then. I've seen more darklight gear than I have seen even a shitty card in Ragnarok Online.
Btw, it's not linked to nation, because american MMOs have just as bad drop rates if they aren't just handing things to you.
I like upgrading. Saves you inventory space, and your weapon gets stronger as you level up. If I ever get around to do Hamlet, I hope I can turn that PLD sword into Excalibur one day.
We're all 50 and have nothing better to do. Why're you all bitchin'? Correct me if I'm wrong, but at least it's free and requires less people?
Although, I wish they'd add more ways to get seals. I want to tear my eyes out after a few caravan runs..
Hmmmm Good Old Relic weps, after FFXI I actually look foward to it.... hope these weps actually make a huge difference unlike FFXI, though at 99+1 relic is sweet ^^
HEY
i need someone to camp the ??? for the curtana so we can pop BB to pop Suzaku.
Idk what shell you were running with or when, but when we were doing dyna.. It was 1mil to get the hourglass, so IF (important word) you sponsored the run.. you would get the currency..
Stage 1 > Stage 2
Wait Time: After one Midnight in Japan. (UTC/GMT +9)
You will need your base Relic Weapon, three specific items (these are crafted items that can typically be obtained from Dynamis, crafted from materials found in Dynamis, or purchased with Ancient Currency), and 3 to 5 100-unit pieces of a specific type of Ancient Currency for the commission. Once you have all the required items, speak to Switchstix in Castle Zvahl Baileys at I-8 (where you first enter). Trade him the weapon and the three items. Speak to him again, and he will ask for the payment fee. Trade him the Ancient Currency. After this, wait 1 Earth day (JP midnight) and speak to him again to receive your Stage 2 Relic Weapon.
there are 5 stages.. so if you have a shell that has ideally at least 36 people on it.. but for this case let's just say 40.. so.. IF each person sponsors a run.. thats 40 runs.. 1 every 72 hours.. thats about 4 months for each person to sponsor 1 run... so lets just say for fun that you get a whole stage complete every sponsorship.. thats 1 year to get everyone to stage 4... Thats also if you do the same zone everytime.. which.. idk how often that happens, with scheduling and all....
So lets talk about relic... dont forget.. different relic pieces dropped in different zones...so.. the chances of you actually getting what you want depends on your shell... your point system.. and what zone your doing.. I literally know someone who did dyna for a year and a half before he could get his thf hands, because of the way dyna was set up back in those days.. like i said if you were running at when the hourglass was only 500k maybe it was different.. but idk how thats "easier" or "better" then the drops in xiv at all..
also we were running when the cap was still 75.. so again.. idk.
just because someone has good gear doesnt mean they dont have a life.. everybody has a life.. obviously.. and whether your accomplishments are in real life or in game.. thats up to the individual and what they choose to spend their time on.. your remarks seem a little petty and immature.. how do you know that that person doesnt know how to optimize their time.. you could say the same thing about someone that has a primal weapon or a job at 50..
i'm surprised to even see remarks like that in an MMO forum.. we all play video games thats why were here.. to diminish someone as an individual because you ASSUME they play more or less then you is more of a reflection of your own character.. Ezrah has a 40 hour a week job.. and has rl friends.. haha a lot of them just happen to play xiv, because we tend to have friends who have the same interests as us... i dont see how that makes anybody's life more or less valuable then yours...
what is the difference between hanging out and killing mobs or hanging out elsewhere?
The weapons are alright.
I'm LOVIN the GC weapons. The designs look amazing and totally different than what we have now.
Gladiator Cutlass? OMFG
Lominsan Labrys thing? HELL YEAH
Lominsan Trident? I'm sorry guys, but I feel bad for whoever didn't pick Maelstrom :D
EDIT: Totally gloating about the GC weapons when this thread is about Relic weapons lol
Oh my...war Axe has +50 ekmnity!? Can't I get a weapon that does damage and let's the PLD tank at the same time!
Hi All,
I agree with Velhart, Premium, Firon and many others:
I don't mind a long-term goal (I LOVE having them :)). I totally understand Yoshida-san's need for a Time Sink to keep us all busy until 2.0 launches (with very few patches Pre-2.0 remaining).
But the difference between Final Fantasy XI's Dynamis (Early Days) for Relic Weapons & what we have now with Hamlet Defense (and seen with Darklight Gear Drops) is that in Dynamis, EVERY time you participate, you are 1 step closer to your goal.
You know you're getting closer because you receive "points" (Ancient Currency) every time you go. So while the total # of currency required may be longer than these 9 Primal Seals + the 25k Key Item, this current system is demoralizing simply because it's a Low Random Number Generator, based on luck.
You may get lucky and get your 9 Primal Seals with minimal grinding, or you may be unlucky and not get any drops for a while (like one streak we had of 0/14 drops in Hamlet before we saw 1 Seal (all over 65,000 Points each time) (actually 0/112 Rewards since none of the 8 of us got anything but Dark Matter).
It's demoralizing, mind-numbing, and gives people *NO* incentive to want to grind through Hamlet Defense (or any of that content).
If Yoshida-san implemented a Point System, so that every time you do Hamlet Defense, EVERYONE gets Points, and those Points eventually can be turned in to get a Primal Seal, then at least everyone knows they're making positive progress towards the Long Term Goal.
And also, unlike Dynamis, Hamlet Defense is so much LESS EPIC and more linear.
The early days of Dynamis-Xarcabard (and other areas) had different grand goals like going after Dynamis Lord, or getting NM Drops before that point, or different Side Paths, to fight other NMs and get people Attestations, or just go through different side paths to farm more Ancient Currency, etc.
Not so with Hamlet Defense.
I sincerely hope Yoshida-san implements a Points System soon, to let people grind through less painfully (or ups the Drop Rate noticeably).
http://mozk-tabetai.com/
real stats the dat mine program doesnt give the correct info
when we did dyna.. the point system was kept track of by the ls alone.. 1 run = 1 point. all the ancient currency went to the person sponsoring the run.. if you had enough points in the ls and something you wanted dropped then it was yours.. if someone out pointed you, whether they had the job leveled or not.. whether they brought the job or not, you were outta luck.. I hope they don't implement something like that into hamlet...
Since in 1.22c their implementing the new system for hamlet... that seems to be on its way to being taken care of already i geuss.. but then whos going to do hamlet? once youve done it so many times, your done right? completely? why ever do it again?
Bring it on. I look forward to holding that lance in my hands.
Sounds more like poor LS management to me.
