If you positioned the boss poorly then the blame is on you. if they went into your path and made it their job to go behind you then its theirs. Who ever is to blame is a brain dead idiot.

Best tip for Duty Finder quickly gauge your parties gear if they play bad then adjust the run accordingly. I think I've only had 2 DF groups that could speed run Brayflax in 6 mins, it would have been three but i had a group where the black mage did not aoe on the 1st pull with 4 packs of trash. i asked why he did not use flare etc,I get crap and he leaves i start to LMFAO and carry on without his ass until we get a replacement. ( i did slow down the run of course) even with that the run was still very fast without any one else dying.

and to answer the last post the skill is Shield Oath.

Boss room is large... There is absolutely no reason at all for DPS/healers to get hit by frontal AoE for any reason. Unless the tank is purposefully trying to get people cleaved(useful for that one dps trying to kill a snake in T1 early), you can avoid it. Blaming a tank is ridiculous and everyone should be aware of positioning. Fail. Even if the tank had it facing the center, there is plenty of room elsewhere as well as telegraphs as to when the boss will transition phases. Tank positioning is a courtesy in this fight not a requirement. This isn't AK with a room wide swipe. Any DPS who relies on a tank to be perfect is a fail DPS.

It's like riding a motorcycle. You may be the best and safest rider in the world, but no matter how safe you are, everyone in a car is infinitely far more dangerous.

Sorry, the whole purpose of having a tank is the tank makes sure the rest of the PT takes minimal damage. Tanking 101 is "Make sure whatever part of the monster that is sending out damage is facing away from the rest of the party".

Therefore "Erm no" is correct. OP should have positioned the thing properly in the first place.

Erm no is correct? I mean it is, but weren't you trying to say the opposite? Common sense should apply to all jobs. It is supposed to be damage per second, not derps per second.

Yeah, I think the group as a whole should have paid more attention. As a tank it is annoying to have to cover for bad DPS, but it's just as annoying for DPS to cover for bad tanks. It's a conundrum anytime I queue for DF as to what job I want to be, because I have to try and decide what do I want to put up with more.

Oh I just meant the usage of LB before he goes into another circuit, then pops bombs, then pops superbomb(zelda LttP heres looking at you). If everyone saves there CDs until the last moment, you can push him down without the LB. It takes some good timing. I discovered it by mistake, with a DRG and BRD DD. I was about to get upset cause he wasn't using LB, and it just died. As tank I always pop unchained, eternal release, and berserk right before hes about to go into that last phase. I'm wondering if other phases will be able to be skipped later when everyone is even more decked out in gear. Like popping a LB and pushing DD hard on first phase just before he goes around. Maybe you can do enough damage you'll skip one of those phases.

I'm also curious, if the group misses that chance to skip the phase, if you can still do enough dmg to kill him, while hes driving in circles. I.E. time a Blizzard II, steel cyclone, holy w/e AoE to hit him when he circles by you. That could be tough to get, but might be a nice save.

Yes, it is the responsibility of the tank to turn the boss away from the rest of the party; I am not disputing that. What I am disputing is a common flawed logic that the dps don't have to do anything else besides mash keys and make things blow up. Take responsibility for yourself to say otherwise is just you being lazy.

I have had groups where the combined weapon damage (the LB damage determiner) was not enough for the LB to kill the boss at this point. You need to know what the LB will output to do it at this time. If you know that the boss won't die, it is better to save it for the bomb itself. "Horrible DPS" is not really a fair assessment. It could just be that the group isn't extremely overgeared. There is a difference.

Lol, I got that comment in T1 once. We were all i90+ (AND the 10% echo buff) got out within 15 minutes and the tank still said "good job but dps too weak"

And I was like ".......really!?"
