2.25 in 9 days or less. Animus weapon owners, are you excited?

Yes- People attempting an encounter and failing due to learning the fight is one thing.

Implementing an insultingly simple quest that rehashes low level content, so as to ensure zero skill required - then using RNG to determine and limit who gets prizes... that's another thing.

They messed up terribly by cutting corners and taking short cuts. Now they have to fix it. At least they don't have to redo the entire game- again. I can't imagine they got approval to recreate FFXIV, so they could put this abysmal quality of effort and design into it.

Man I hope all the extreme primal are required for the next weapon. You get like one shot per day to beat a primal. You fail you have to wait the next day but you get to start of where you left. I can imagine all the people crying now.

I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more Atma drops after the patch tonight...

There is no such a thing as "holding back content because many people haven't completed it". It's absurd. They are holding it back because it isn't ready yet, plain and simple.

yes there is, animus was supose to be a time sink for the players who had been asking for a longer term goal.

in the end the majority didn't like this content and has been in a uproar. the whole thing was to test the waters on longer term goals which has failed it's something the player base has shown they do not want which is why it's being held back yoshi p is listening to his player base and they made their call based on it.

That makes me sad... that this is what they consider longer term goals - bad rng roadblocks. If this is their "version" of it, then yes it is awful.

It's too bad they didn't "test the waters" with a long and engaging quest. :(

Uh, not really. You can release the next relic stage and then fix the first part in a later date (they do it all the time with other quests), instead of doing both later.

Damn yo, you people are some gigantic babies. It's only been a bit over a month, and everyone is crying foul over the Atma quest. Yes RNG is terrible and the Atma quest should be fixed, but it's not so cringe worthy people should start insulting the man. Yoshi-P has been keeping his ears to the streets, so to speak. He wouldn't have let this nonsense go on long unchecked.

they could have just released the quest as planned cause ppl who finished animus put at least a bit more time (and maybe effort) into the game. no one would have been hurt if those could already continue with the quest while others catch up. and if the next step requires items you actually have to win over others, waiting another 4 weeks just creates more competition, which in this case is not that funny...
Then they could have monitored the situation and if necessary make adjustments.

Which is where you are so wrong....people who got their Atmas in 12 hours, that's pure LUCK, so they certainly didn't put a "bit" more time and maybe "effort" into anything, all they had was good luck. This attitude of "I'm uberI have 4 atmas" is ridiculous, it means absolutely NOTHING...except they were exceptionally lucky. There are folks on here who have been solidly grinding and still only have 1 or maybe 2 Atmas, and I'm sure they put a lot more time and loads more effort in than the aforementioned lucky ones.

So no....lucky ones now have to put up with a bit of bad luck...the quest doesn't continue because the MAJORITY of players don't have animus.

People should be rewarded for finishing their animus now with getting to move on to the next part of the quest. I don't see why we have to wait because other people aren't there yet.

cause everyone with an atma weapon or higher got lucky, right? not grinded 500 fates or anything like that... everyone that is passed atmas is now just a lucky one! Rosy, you realize there is more to the animus quest then just atmas?

If you read what I wrote, you didn't see me refer to myself, I have my Atma on one Job and about to get 4th book ( so yes, of course I realise there is more to it), and have 7/12 atmas for 2nd job. It's the people who have been grinding non stop and have hardly any atmas to show for it that I feel sorry for. The people on here who say they have put more time and effort into something that depends totally on RNG (luck) just because they got their atmas collected in double quick time, are now whining that as they have worked harder (haha), they should have the next part of the quest.

...to answer your question...yes everyone with an atma weapon or higher got lucky :) If they didn't get lucky (which is what you're intimating) then they need to assess their real life and either a) get a job or b) get a life :)

I have both, but I also didn't get as lucky as others who got their Atmas in under a day or 2, neither did I have pre-formed Myth Farm parties who were prepared to do an entire stretch of 30+ runs worth to wiz through up to each book... and I still have my Animus :l

And there are people who are in fact less lucky than you who have yet to finish gathering their atma in spite of a not insubstantial amount of grinding. It's a garbage system and the people defending it genuinely terrify me.

I personally refuse to do the animus quest line as is. Not only is it stupid that it takes you forever to get the atmas, but then when you "upgrade", the only thing that changes is the iLvl. Stupid. Then you have to spend 1500 myth per book, and each book has 3 fates that take forever between spawns. No thanks. All it is, is a stupid time sink. I'd rather go play another game instead.

I'm not defending it, the Atma grinding was one of the worst experiences ever and nearly sent me bordering on insane, but the thing is people expect it 'now now now' and at the end of it you have a big sigh of relief and perhaps accomplishment, yes some people have different luck with the drops but everyone will get them eventually, wether it be through continued grinding or SE caving into the bottle-fed community yelling about the low drops rates and increasing them to 15-20%

I've never expected now now now, but after 40 hours+ of nothing but fate grinding for only 2 atma pieces, i'm tired of seeing atma. For all these hours I've gotten a lot of GC seals, which have only gone to ventures, and nothing really accomplised. It's a bullshit archaic RNG system. Fix it, plain and simple. Personally, that's the argument for patch 2.25, and tbh, it's SE, I'm not expecting a real fix. These shouldn't be now now now weapons, but they should be decently accessible as relics in XIV have been the more "casual" EG weapons. IE, only 3 EG weapon types in 2.1, Zentih, Primal, Allagan. 2.2? Animus which depending on luck takes a few hours of atma grinding, or like me, a stupid amount of time, then you have Levi Ex which are more or less equal, the Sol weapons, then High allagan. Since Relics were a quest, make atma/animus a quest.

So, like I said again, back in 2.1 there are still shit load of people who can't even clear Titan EX and Turn 5, should SE withhold the release of the 2nd Coil and Levi EX?

No right? They proceed to release the 2nd coil while nerfing all previous contents. Those who have completed have new content to progress to while those playing catch up will catch up.

So the thing is, why double standards now? They can still release Novus as it is and nerf the Atma/Animus line. If they think Novus needs a nerf later, do it later as they wish, just like how they nerfed Twintania's twister.

That's my point here, any probably the same point as others who had the Animus and was disappointed at the decision to hold back.

Don't selectively reply, how about coil then. They didn't withhold 2nd coil despite most people doesn't even clear T5.

TBH I don't even see what's the problem. I've cleared T5 prior to that and in fact I welcome more people to clear and join us (those who cleared) with the new content.

It doesn't make sense to prohibit other people's progression to let the rest to play catch up.

And IMO, if people get to see how Novus looks like and the stats and what not, they might be motivated to do it as well if it triggers their desire to own them. Of course, whether or not the requirements for Novus is shitty like Animus quest line is another matter. What I'm concerned here is that SE doesn't withhold coil despite most people not even clearing T5 while they are withholding Novus because most people doesn't have an Animus.

are you saying you can compare something that was given 6 months to something that was give 1?

yea it would be double standard if coil t6-9 was released 1 month after coil t1-5 and only BG had beaten it. but that's not what happened they wanted to extend the quest but decided against it because it was to early they hadn't even adjusted it. like t5 it got plenty of nerfs before t6 came out, now i am not saying atma and animus have to be nerfed alot because the next part comes out but to compare 1 month to 6 months is two different things.

when you have people that play maybe a couple hours a day or maybe 10 hours a week 6 months is alot more time then 1 month the difference in what a player can do is immense.

It's always been like that really. This game never really lets you get too far ahead of everyone else. Just look at Mor Dhona, everyone wears the same gear. You can still get Soldiery gear even without clearing T5.

Clearing Titan Ex or T5 was not based on RNG/luck.

They did however nerf these to make them more accessible to the masses.

Well, that sucks then. I suppose if 2.25 doesn't come with some nerf and players decided to continue the boycott/not doing it and those who tries still either getting bad RNG or still unable to complete it 4 weeks later (which I personally speculate that's the time for 2.28, in line with 20% coil Echo), does this mean SE will consider holding back Novus again?

And seriously thou, how far/how much advantage will Novus get you? It won't even be some spectacular update since the most important thing about the whole questline is being able to customize the secondary stats, which will only be available in it's final form according to 2.2 Live Letter. Which will only happen in 2.3

That's unrelated. The whole point is they proceeded with new progression content while easing older one for masses to catch up.

If you want to talk about skill, that makes it even more funny. Because Animus doesn't take skill, it just take time and a little of luck.

Is it really that hard for people to wrap their heads around the idea that the REALLY TEDIOUS ATMA AND MYTH GRIND has either
a) turned a lot of people off working on their weapons
or b) was just too damn tight on the RNG to allow enough people to finish

There's every possibility that the next stage will involve group content. If there are not enough players doing it then that becomes a massive problem. Let them fix it, stop complaining, it's for your own good.

I doubt it will be group content. Simply because the current other 2 methods of obtaining higher level weapons already involves group content, and the whole point of Zodiac weapon is to provide players an alternative route to obtain higher level weapons, and probably at their own pace. Not everyone has the time to form a static to do coil for coil weapon, nor had the time or even enough skill to queue Levi EX for Tidal weapons. So you have Relic, which is essentially a solo content that is "masses friendly".

Content was awful, people chose not to do it or got boned by RNG or both. They're trying to avoid making the same mistake again. How is that hard to understand?

Let me give you a hint what SE's main concern here is: money, and by extension, keeping the playerbase happy.

these games revolve around RNG. How is it hard to understand? what that some of us did it and didnt cry about it and are now done.. others chose not to because they deemed it not worth their time, so now theyre dumbing it down AND postponing further content? ughghgh

that last part your absolutely correct. Which is the issue. Which is why i support pantheon and cant wait. The devs are hte first ones since blizzard who have had the balls to put money 2nd opposed to preserving the integrity of the genre.

TBH the majority of the playerbase (statisitcaly speaking) would like the best weapon in game sent to their mailbox... perhaps they should do this? it would make them all happy and certainly keep them subbed another month amirite?

It'll only deteroirate as i become more disgusted w/ the genre and the choices they continue to make based on one portion of the playerbase. jesus they try so hard to be like wow, look at the state of hte game now. Do they learn nothing or is this intended to be a few year long lifespan/bridge to ffxv?

If they actually released an actual statistic of players with animus/atma already, the decision might be more justified.

What I was comparing was Titan EX to Levi EX, where Levi EX is the new content for the Primal EX line. T6 was compared to T5, which is the new content for the Binding coil line. What I said was despite having a large chunk of people not completing both Primal EX and Binding Coil: Ragnarok content, new contents for both series are being released while the older contents are eased for the masses.

You were saying that Primal EX and Coil takes skill - which I said the skill talk was irrelevant because it would have made it even funnier - because Animus quest doesn't take skill. It takes time and a little of luck. And still I don't see anything related here be it skill or luck - my whole point is I don't see why SE has to stop other people's progression on Relic just because the masses doesn't have Animus yet. Which I call it double standard because they didn't do so for Coil and Primal EX. There's no dispute for that for the fact that they did release new contents for Primal EX and Coil series despite the masses not able to clear it yet.

The only good point that was raised to what I said was from Musashidon: which he says that Primal EX and Coil had a 3/6 months gap while the Animus questline existed for only 1 month now, which I could agree with him.
