Have you used materia yet? 50 million types with different kinds for different slots and different catalysts...hard to track, takes forever to buy and and properly update 1 piece of gear. Seems overkill.

With 1.19 patch the changes made to new individual damage calculation and changes to monster parameters for battle modifications. This made the leve's hard to complete where leve quest mobs with multiple mob pops or leve quests which has active monsters not related to leve quest.

Materia is fine, it tells you what the stats on it are, what catalyst you need, and what crafter you need. You really don't have to worry about being picky until you're working on your endgame gear. Catalyst-hunting is the only negative thing about it. There's no in-game way to know where certain catalysts are and Fingerprints of the Gods is really freaking random. It needs to activate more for lower tier catalysts so the price on the low rank catalysts will drop and newbies can get into it.

Yep I have but it's only been a week still, once the market goes around and people start getting used to the system I'm sure it will get better + I'm sure with player feedbacks some stuff on the materia craft will be modified.

As for me I tried all 3 parts in this one so I know.
1. It takes time to materialize (100% spirit bond) a gear just by crafting/gathering - I see fighting speeds this up reading the forums.
2. It's s*** pain in the butt to farm the catalist, 4 hours and 2 catalist isn't fun for me, tested 2 days and obtained only 6 so far for level 30+ one. God's Fingerprint hardly activated... and even after it activates it's not 100% guarantee, have to go through same gathering process with the purple glowing lights....
3. Attaching materia is bit confusing since it has parts you can attach to; have to look at the the catalyst; on top of that have to have the right craft + crafting level to attach it.

I tried it so I know it's hard right now but I would give it some more time + keep on posting my comments to see if the devs/reps can make some modification to this since I think this materia system is interesting.

Perfectly fine. If you guve a lot of combinations it's going to get complicated versus giving everyone an auto win button like many MMOs.

引き続きやる気満々ではあるのですが、ゲーム本体の改修を待てない以上、
まずは改修を優先し、その後に環境を入れ替え、バージョンブランチの仕組みを設計し直し、
（設計は終わりました）テストサーバに対応するつもりでいます。

Speak for yourself. The chocobo caravan gives quite a nice reward if you keep the chocobos safe enough, and I try to do at least one every day.

And as for ignoring materia completely...well, good luck with that, buddy. It's become an integral part of the game, and all future content will be balanced around it.

There are different feelings towards PL depending on the players view on it but the goal where having new players come closer to older players have not changed.

極端なレベル差がある状態で、PLされる側のキャラクタをPT内に入れたまま放置し、

We did have an idea about this after after the modification to the claiming system but didn't expect where the person getting PL can be in the party and do nothing and gaining exp without the penalty where it calculates the level difference between the players.

経験値獲得の計算式は、今回のパッチ1.19で根幹のテコ入れが入ったため、
表面上の効力が分かり難くなっており、今回の対応の遅れに繋がっています。
緊急メンテナンスも視野には入れていましたが、パッチ1.19aのリリースが
目前に迫っているため、本件も同時に対応させて頂きます。
There was root changes to the exp gain calculation formula in 1.19 and made it difficult to understand and also reason for the delay.
We thought of having a emergency maintenance but patch 1.19a release is close by so we will have this included in it as well.

Don't know one person who uses materia. How many pieces do you have with materia in them?

I think that covers all todays posts... updating OP then gotta get back to work.
Swamped with work today lol but thought the PL thingy and the color posts should of been translated right away since lots were talking about it :)

I got 3 so far, like I said it's been only one week still; give it a month.
Only part I wish they added was a system where you can request for materia to be attached without trading the items to another person, would be fine if you know someone but for me as I play way off time from JP or NA time I don't see much people/friends so I don't want to randomly give items to someone to be attached and run off with my gear + materia lol.

Well, considering your highest class is level 32, I suppose you wouldn't really have much of a need for materia at the moment. Try playing the game for a while longer, and when you get to end-game content, let me know what you think of materia then.

And I've got all seven pieces of gear slotted with materia (ignoring shield, since I don't use one), thank you very much.

I'm almost entirely slotted with materia and most of my LS is.

You have close to no use for it at level 32 anyway.

The Materia system is extremely simple. It says on the materia where it can go and what Catalyst you need. I had all my gear slotted a couple days ago and I have sold off a few of those pieces to upgrade to newer better slotted pieces.

The only mystery was where catalysts were obtained and what to aim for while gathering and that has been completely figured out and documented now.

Materia is pretty awesome even at low levels. I made my friend a level 32ish spear with something in the realm of +30 attack when it started out with +14-15. I made level 15ish armor that ended up with +42 hp instead of +25. Because of how low HP is at low levels now, that's an absolute ton.

I would have to agree, one slot type and one catalyst per tier for all materia would have been enough, its really over kill, hell they should have kept it as simple as slotting a materia into a item just like WoW does with gems.

Yes i have and its easy. On the materia itself it tell you EXCATLY where it can slot to and what catalysts to use. If telling you everything is hard then i feel sorry for you if you ever played ff11.

its a simple balance thing, there has to be at least 3 types to represent the 3 types of gatherers, so they all have some unique item, they need multiple tiers so that people who have leveled gatherer high have some type of benefit to doing so.

All in all its pretty simple. Not as simple as direct slotting, but that wouldnt have worked within the jobs of the game.

Ignored? Considering I've made 2.4m~ selling tier 3 materia alone it's hard to say players are ignoring an very integral system. I also see Caravan escorts being done quite a bit by people now that more players are settled down.

There is a lot of content in this patch. Caravans have a use, but people have other priorities first.

Reinheart, thanks again for all these recent translations on 1.19.

Hey reinhart, I know you frequent the JP forums, what are they saying with the PL issues I know they have a thread. I was just wondering if it was pretty much the same thing as us, or if more are against pl than don't care about pl (people aren't really pro pl but some people just don't care), I find it funny that the JP and EN, DE, and FR threads pretty much express many of the same feelings, it must be due to some us speaking both languages for some, I mean I love reading the French forums just wish they talked more.

Some people (including myself) asked on the forums if it's possible to have materia attachment request like bazaar where you can put up the mats + material on your bazaar and other can come and attempt attachment. Here's response to that one :)

Hope they do it right; this would be a nice feature to have for sure :)
Specially for people like me who play at weird time when no one is hardly on and can't ask friends to attach :) Only problem I see is if it breaks some might go crazy... but it's risk they will be making by putting it up to have it attached, if you're scared don't put it up :D
