IIRC there is a setting that you can click so that you only tab to monsters you're in combat with...it would be great IF it actually worked(well, it would be great if it prioritized the monsters you're in combat with, not just locked you to them but yeah anyway...). Tab target still brings me to every monster and their mother before the ones I'm in combat with. Not gunna lie, it makes me want to pull my hair out.
It would really help melee classes if there were some way of targeting the nearest mob. With a PS3 controller, I think it should be the X button. That one can currently be used to target a mob if none is yet selected, but it doesn't target the nearest one. It targets the one in the most directly straight line from where the character is facing, but that might be a mob clear back in the background if the one you're standing toe-to-toe with is even a couple degrees off-center. With the controller (whose analog sticks are for camera direction and character movement) there's no way of getting the sort of precice control over our character's facing direction that that scheme would require in order to be useful.
Please either make it use camera direction (which at least we have direct control over) or better yet, consider all mobs within a wide arc or semi-circle in front of our character and select from them the one that's closest to our character instead of the one that's the most straight ahead. That closest one is the one that X should target.
Noticed the targeting thing happens on Twintania a lot when you switch to conflag then try to switch to here doesn't work well.
would be cool if there were some version of FF8 Julia's Piano Bar playing ARR Piano Collection
It'd be great it the Pigment items from Lv.30 Nodes had a static spot, rather than sharing a spot with Crystals half the time...
Hi Camate,
Would it be possible if you could ask the developers if they could also look into the vibrate function for fishing as my bf who also likes to play on my account is deaf and partially blind as well as I'm deaf aswell as we struggle to see the rod when in stealth mode and I know there is a chime for fishing but like I said we're both deaf and it's really hard, he asked me about the vibrate function and I told him there is one but not for fishing so he's really disappointed about that
Thanks
hopefully this wont get lost in the thread but i wish there was a sound effect we could turn on when something of ours sold on the MB. with all the random commotion going on around you its easy to not notice that things are selling.
Dont know if someone already said this or if it exists (at least i didnt see it), but could we save custom HUD configurations to select when we need them or even better some macro to choose them!
This has happened to me about three times now, but it's annoying none the less:
When fishing you'll occasionally be kicked from your position ("The fish sense something amiss" or something like that). This really should not happen when Mooching, loosing an attempt like that is really frustrating, even if it is very rare... -_-
More interaction with the Slyphs would be nice since they do have a personality introduced to us in the story. I was thinking it would be neat if when you use the /sit emote the Slyph sat in your lap, or on your head sort of like we do with the Goobbue mount. Their posture could vary with the sitting posture. Some pet specific emotes or controls would be a plus. I realize this is a bit frivolous, but it's small things like this that make a game feel polished.
I'd love XIV to flash in the task bar and make a sound on the desktop when it finds a party in DF.
I browse the internet when I'm seeking and sometimes I miss it. Thanks.
an button to lock the UI/HUD from moving would be nice, i dunno why they removed it from 1.0 :(
I would love the option to move the notice when items sell.
It flashing up in the middle of the screen can be distracting.
Give them time? Its the same for controllers but these guys are working tooth and nail to fix a lot of other stuff, and make lots of cool new stuff at the same time.
QUEST Markers (Exclamation Points) and the Zone need Quest Level Identifiers.
Im tired of trying to level an alt class and not knowing what quest I can do in the zone I am in. I enter a zone open my map to see what quest are currently avaliable in there. I see a few and go to that location. Only to talk to the quest giver and find out the quest are way to high or way to low. Its so annoying, I spend most my time running around all the zone looking for quest I can do!!
NOTE - I am referring to what is shown on the zone map....before you have to run up to the person or accept the quest into the quest log.
Please clarify what quest are to high or low level in the zone you are in
Whatever class/job youare currently playing all quest 5 levels to low and even 5 levels to high should dissapear.
Also for the current quest markers on your map for the CURRENT zone/map you are in please label them with a number to show the level.
For example I press "M" to open the map for the zone I am currently in and I see exclamation marks on my map showing those are quest givers. When I mouse over them what we see now is the following.
(This is how the game is currently) - I mouse over an exclamation on my current zone map and it sais "Kill 10 Chocobos"
(This is how it should be) - I mouse over an exclamation on my current zone map and it sais "(25) Kill 10 Chocobos" <---Just a simple number next to it for the quest level.
This would make it so much easier to enter a zone open up the map for that zone and see what avaliable quest (only the current ones that are avaliable like it is now) can be done by my current class/job level.
Armory System.
Please fix the armory so that gear in it shows what is currently equiped by each gear set/Class/Job. Things get confusing and messy after a while and when you have 8+ different classes all filling up the armory with gear.
Allow us to adjust what quest are shown on the screen and allow us to show more.
When talking to a vendor or interacting with someone we cant do anything. Allow us to change gear when talking to a gear vendor for easy equiping and selling.
Speaking of interacting everything is autio canceled. I can be mining and I auto cancel group invites and so on.
Also when on a mount please stop auto cancelling everything when mounted. Im on my mount and it auto cancels party teleports. When on a mount we should be able to accept invites, teleports and do everything just as if we were on foot like evey other MMO out there. Allow us to talk to people and auto dismount to get into combat or to mine and gather materials.
WHY CANT WE MAIL OUR ALTS???
Fix the chat system to have each chat tab we have made flash or highlight whenwe get a message in that tab.
PLEASE ALLOW US TO OPEN ALL INVENTORY TABS AT ONCE!!!! Current system sucks.
Why cant we talk to people when we are ina dungeon? Like whispers and so on? Thats a staple feature in most games.
So many interactions and qualit yof life functions taht are restricted in FF XIV. its like SE intended for us to struggle.
Sorry if it's hidden amongst the 147 previous - When using a controller the one thing that reallly irritates me is that you can only cycle through the crossbar in one direction. I would really love to be able to go forwards and backwards.
I.E. after using a spell on the second crossbar set and needing to go back to the first, instead of having to cycle through however many other crossbar sets I have for that job set, to be able to hit the left controller bumper to go back to the first "row".
Hope that makes sense. (And have to say puzzled as to why this isn't possible already!)
It is. If you hold R1 on PS3 (probably RB on a 360 controller, dunno) it will show all your crossbars at once, each assigned to a face button.
So, for example, holding R1 and pressing Triangle will bring you to the first one instead of having to cycle through all of them.
Allow us to use our Chocobo's while in a DF queue. Actually, allow us to also join FATE groups after we join a DF queue. When the queue pops, the player is given the choice of leaving their current group for the DF one. Having to solo grind FATEs without the Chocobo just because I'm trying to queue for a dungeon is annoying. It makes leveling alts while trying to cap myth in the 40 minute DPS queue frustrating.
Also, extend the DF accept timer to maybe 1:30.
What I would like (and I don't remember if this is being done or not) is for the pet hotbar to be taken out of the cycle. I have all my stuff set up on two hotbar sets that I toggle back and forth to, except when playing a pet job my 2nd set gets removed from the rotation in favor of the pet hotbar.
So when I wanna switch, I gotta do the "hold R1 and push circle or triangle" thing. I'd rather have that be what I gotta do for the pet hotbar, since the only time I will be using that is when I want to reposition the pet.
Yoshi already mentioned this way back during beta. This is by design, because he wanted to simulate the act of actually handing an item over.
Would be nice if an auto trade feature was implemented for quest. I don't really see the point of an trade option window other than tradecraft leves for nq and hq trades or the provision missions for GC. This is very frustrating trying to turn in items in fates when random AoEs knock you out of trade along with teleport pops. Trading to an NPC is an unnecessary feature and needs to go away.
Wow. Awful, awful, awful.
There is NO reason this can't be done when NPCs in-game already have chat bubbles over their heads and it CLEARLY does not affect performance. Just make it a toggle-able option already for those of us that feel that it RUINS chat by not having it. Why do I have to look at a chat window when someone is talking to me? I should be able to look at their character while they are talking. MMOs have had this since Ragnarok Online 15 years ago and there are good reasons why. To us it makes the world feel more alive because I am LOOKING at a character and interacting rather than scrolling around a chat box trying to match someone's name up with their character in my vicinity. Just awful design not to have this.
This is almost on the level of "you can't whisper your friends while in a duty" insanity.
I agree with SODA
To Okipuits lame excuse about having no chat bubbles in /say..
This is a lame excuse.
SE fix your bad excuses. Other games have been doing it for years and years and years.
Even games like Guild Wars 2 didnt have it and they added it at the request of the players.
Games like wow and even older then WoW have had chat bubbles for many many years.
Okay.
The new Lala run is fine, but has anyone noticed that Lalas now slide along the ground while walking? The shuffle-walk I had in 1.0 actually seemed to "grab" the ground more. Perhaps an adjustment to the animation speed would help?
Any reasoning behind changing ONLY the Lalafells' walk AND run?
And that abrupt turn to face something to either emote or talk to it is a bit annoying. The little step to face the direction of an object/person was a nice polish...not to mention (yes...) the inertia animations. I know this has been discussed a lot but it was these little things that gave 1.0 that polished feel.
Server lag isn't a valid excuse IMHO. There must have been something else.
HI Okiput! Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Please do not take what I'm gonna say personally, I know you're just the messenger.
This is unacceptable though. Really. How can an MMO nearly 15 years old have this, but a modern MMO can't. It's almost the year 2014 and ARR is missing some very basic stuff. I don't buy the stress excuse, I just can't.
I miss 1.0 Lalafell walk. It was much cuter and just fit better than the current attempt at walking like a Tarutaru.
Thread's too long. Has there been any minion suggestions? They auto disappear when you enter instances, I think. It's a bit of a pain to re-summon them mainly because I simply just forget about them and they waste up hotkey slots. I have many of them and they're never out and about because of this.
There should be an option that lets the minions summon itself, possibly randomly and even auto rotate every 10 mins or so.
I know ^^ but I would like to just scroll forwards and backwards using the bumpers. I hit the right bumper to switch to the second set on my crossbar, and would just simply like the left bumper to switch back to the one before. (Just a personal preference - also the left bumper is not configured to do anything on my controller when using the crossbar so would kind of make sense in my mind anyway).
It's not "unacceptable" as the game is clearly doing fine without this feature. Text bubbles aren't "basic", they're aesthetically pleasing to some but far from a basic feature that makes or breaks an MMORPG. ARR is missing stuff even XI does but that is the direction they're taking the game. The reason you can't buy it and why some feel "NPCs can so can we!" NPCs aren't players, the game rarely has to do anything other than call up a script for an NPC - With players there's a fair bit more going on.
I really do want chat bubbles!
If this is causing 'too much stress on PS3', then this will have to be one of the many features that PC users SHOULD have but PS3 users don't/can't/won't, NOT focus target bar (I know they will have it soon).
Greetings,
I have a quick update in regards to a targeting-related adjustment.
In patch 2.1 we will be making adjustments to the "target the closest NPC or object" feature so that pets and companions are not included.
give me my auto dismount!~~
#1 complaint about the game: removing you from the duty finder if you change class or call your chocobo. So stupid!! DPS queue times are already hitting 40+ minutes and you can waste an entire hour or more of time if you accidentally call your chocobo or want to raise crafting/gathering while you wait. How did an awful system like this get put in place in 2013??
