I seriously think forum members cant read. I already said I play other games too. Does that mean I cant complain about the state of this patch? Or is state of your free time more important for players of this game?

To be fair it's one line buried in 3 different posts surrounded by "I don't want to support this game because lame content, but also ultimate"
Separating your points might help.
No one's saying you can't complain. My question has always been at what point does it just become pointless whining right? Like, if you don't actually provide actionable feedback, and keep coming, then why would anything change. They still get money, you're still paying.
Netflix had almost nothing I watched and prices kept increasing. Dropped my sub. Same with Disney. People love to talk about negatives here on the forums, but we rarely get "this is the thing I liked about that content I didn't like as much, do more of that part". It's just "this patch had no content and everything sucked"
I think that's a healthy attitude to have. I remember reading something about the devs being surprised at how much people were reading into every little detail in the story, things way beyond what the devs intended. Sometimes it's better to just enjoy it for what it is, and move on to other games when you're getting tired of it. That's what I do at least.
Was it the best patch? No, but worse it the worst? Not to me. I overall enjoyed it, even if it could have been better at parts.
I liked the MSQ well enough, seeing the twins again was great and I really liked the new dungeon, especially the extra look at Reaper lore we got (Just wish we had extra dialogue with Drusilla after it). I actually really loved the development given to Zero. She is a fantastic character and its nice to see they are taking her arc forward. I hope it just does not hint that her story will finish by 7.0, as I really want her to be our next travel companion haha. Was not as weak as 6.1, though not as strong as 6.2 (Which I consider one of my all-time favourites). This feels like the natural dip that happens as we move into the final act of the Void tale, setting up for the grand final. This arc is unlike what we have had before as its much more self-contained and not the bombastic expansion final we are used to, so its bound to flow different. Again though the best lore and writing is found in the side quest which delves into the Four Lords character. They really need to advertise it more... atleats make it a !+ one!
I liked the Alliance Raid too, the Twelve designs continue to be great and I REALLY want the ‘Dedicated to Moonlight" orchestra, Soken has been knocking it out of the park with the Raid songs of late. I enjoyed the battles more, mayhap because people consider them easier haha. The story may not be as heavily impactful as I hopped so far, but it was interesting learning what we did and I have hopes that the final part will surprise us.
I need to start the Tartaru side quest sometime, and I was hoping for more then we got from the Island Update I will admit, but its still a fun time sink that I hope they continuing adding too beyond 7.0. So yeah, I think 6.3 was a worthwhile Patch at least. Then again none of us know really what goes into making patches so all the talk is mostly subjective speculation haha.
Im still putting my lot down with FFXVI development being prioritized over FFXIV for now, even though they say its not. Considering covid delays wouldve been slapped in the mid of its development, FFXIV quality slipping, and FFXVI release quickly coming up, its a bit hard to believe that there is supposedly no development impact what so ever?...
Honestly, if anything is impacting F14 development, it's probably....FF14 development. We're supposed to be getting a graphical update in 7.0 and I've got no idea what the extent of it is going to be, or what the scope is, but that does sound like something that takes more than your average amount of resources.
The patch was a disappointment for me and I'm unsubbing for 6.4. There's no point in logging on just to raid, I'll still have to chew through MSQ and duties, farm tomes, acquire crafted gear, pots, food, deal with all the things I dislike about the jobs. Raids just aren't worth that and why would I do other activities in-between when I enjoy those activities more and can give my full spare time to them.
I think a lot of the complaints are because ff14 is a good game at core. They have a development team that works hard and has a good attitude, great music, great aesthetics, no treadmills. So much potential.
But for some people, they just want a game to invest into and can't do the same FATE's, tome grinds and 3 corridor 3 boss dungeons for the next 10 years and be excited for it. FF14 used to be a game for them, but over time discarded their job engagement, discarded any depth to crafters, discarded their current story plot and new features like Diadem, Verminion, Island Sanctuary, Criterion and so on always seem to fall flat and become niche.
The devs are working flat out but produce so little long term game value for their effort. It feels like such a waste of resources. But it works so I suppose I can't fault them.
Really, for some people, the game used to be for them, but it steered in a different direction and the devs told those players "tough, you can stay and carry Ice Mages and Curebots in bland content or get lost, we aren't making a game for you" and that naturally feels bad. But it is what it is and their choice ultimately.
Maybe "best solution" was wording it poorly on my part. Ideally we'd have instanced houses, luxury sized apartments and so on.
But it'd still be something compared to what we have now. If you could drop your house with little to no gil loss, it would create more available houses, thus reducing the risk that you'd never get one again if you relinquished one, which in turn makes it feel even safer to drop a house you aren't using.
The term "lazy" is pretty weak, given that you have exactly zero knowledge of what's going on in the background for the development team. For example, a makeover of the graphics for the game is being worked on at the same time as the patches for this expansion. Work on the next expansion has begun already. And, of course, 6.3 doesn't feel the same as in the past. The "weakness" you perceive is due to the fact that the x.3 patch in the last four cycles was the climax of the expansion.
Oh boy another bait thread
No, the wait was indeed not worth it, no matter how you try to spin unless you're brand spanking new none of this is enough to last a whole 4 months. Unless you're into pvp it just simply isn't enough.
If you try you're absolute hardest maybe you can stretch it a month? I guess it all comes down to what the relic grind and deep dungeon will be like. But, even then that's gonna stretch it another month unless you're going for a solo deep dungeon achievement, which I assume there will be.
Edit: and should we really be taking a 3 month breaks in between patches? I know people like not missing out, but for an MMO the lifespan of the content just isn't enough.
Depends on how long of a break you want to take. A month? Forty-four days? Five years?
You can skip every other subscription payment by logging in on the last day of your current subscription, visiting your house, logging off and not paying for the next month's subscription. 43 days after your subscription expires you can resubscribe, log in, visit your house, and log off for another 28 days. Rinse, repeat.
Although I question why you want a house if you only visit it long enough to stop the auto-demolition process. Much less expensive to purchase an apartment and take a five year vacation from the game.
No it was definitely not worth the wait. FFXIV is starting to play more like a mobile game to me. I log on then do my dailies and weeklies and log off for the rest of the day. It's more of a habit then anything.
Its interesting that were just ignoring that 6.3 isnt even done releasing yet? Have we forgotten a new deep dungeon thats coming later?
You mean the same Deep Dungeon we got that was released in Heavensward but with a new coat of paint and is mostly used at a catch up mechanic? Oh Yippee!!!
Play other games? Don’t mind if I do!

Money grows on trees now? Why should we be required to pay for a game that we’re not even supposed to play (per Yoshi-P)? There’s no good answer.
I invite other concerned gamers to “take a break” from FFXIV as well—subscription and all. This is perhaps the only forum that invites telling the masses to quit playing the game at hand. So just do it! Cancel your sub fees until Square Enix is bled dry! DO IT NOW!

My Main problem is how all the grindy stuff like beast tribes, relic and now the deep dungeon are held back way too long...
We can talk about deep dungeons and the relic because realistically it'll be the same thing we've done before, how much different do you honestly think this new deep dungeon will be from all the others?
Honestly if it subverts expectations quote this and I'll happily take the L.
It's nothing new and likely something that's been requested. Having things spread out is just an easier way to go about things, whether you're playing or developing. When they can focus on things like DD, that keeps the bug count low on release. That stuff is also not critical to the story, so it can wait.
Kinda true, but me and many more people already spoke what they would like to not feel like they are wasting their money on a sub they cant rly cancel. For me, Im missing new Eureka/Bozja this expansion
- a reason to keep my position in ranked pvp
- more enjoyable extreme (Its subjective, but I dont even want to farm tomes for mount and Im mount farmer. Its sleeper fight with music that is just "remix" of previous one, but compared it to big fat tacos, its not jammy enough for me)
- treasure maps that arent just ShB reskin as I would love to spend my time in there with friends, but in current state, its not enjoyable for me and I see it as kinda lazy work
- meaningful aliance raid rewards (Imagine aliance raid giving 630 catch up gear, so I could maybe completly redo my BiS. Even savage raiders would be fine with this) that are not just weekly capped glams
We are getting some more sprinkles of content in 6.35, but 6.3 feels kinda dead to me. Like nothing new released, even tho patch notes are long. Relic is probably just gonna be some fate/dungeon farm.
This is all subjective, but I just dont feel my money are well spent rn. Still, I at least enjoy my static nights.
You aren't required to pay if you want to take a break. But people who can't let their house getting demolished have the option to pay the sub and take a break at the same time and just log in every 45 days. You don't have to play every day just because you pay the sub. And also, canceling the sub is no requirement for taking a break.
Ah you moved the goalposts towards expectations now. I don't know why, as it has nothing to do with the subject.
The fact that we could see from miles away that this patch was going to be light on content doesn't change the fact that... it's light on content.
You and others are always saying we should wait until X is released before complaining, and now that X is actually released "what did you expect?". Can't ever win with you guys.
It was worth it for me after 5 months later i came back and resubbed. Doing new dungeon, trial , MSQ, tataru’s side quest etc, i enjoyed it and all caught up. Seeing my 2 final favorite archfiends ff4 bosses got me hyped and out of my seat with excitement and joy (as someone who grew up playing ff4) Im looking forward to more!
Eh, people have said many times, we need more mid core content, more extreme bosses per patch for example, more dungeons and even more battle content.
Within this, ( and SE have done this before ) provide weekly quests to complete that encourages people to revisit those content and within the expansion we are in that grants rewards of varying nature which can include cosmetics, pets additional housing items via it and what they have done before, additional gear with varying stats that may be side grades.
Mounts was suppose to be a factor, but thats;
A) low drop rate ( which is fine actually )
B) seen as a strange grind
We need more repeatable on a daily basis that at each players leisure that isn't faceroll or requires organised scheduling that provides varied rewards, no one has asked for no rewards, thats only from that CAN NOTS or complainers from people that can't force people to carry them.
What we need less of is RP and ERP crap.
Before you say Khloe, thats not the same thing here, that makes you do content outside midcore content - this is strictly for those that only want to do on a repeatable daily basis, current expansion content and provide more each patch.
We are not playing this game for a week. We know the cadency of the content in the game. The problem now isnt only that there is so few content in "big" patch.... the problem is, people got tired of new content really fast. Every new content in Stormblood and Shadowbringers was a blast. Many people just dont feel the same about the content in EW.
Yeah, but all house owners are, nice one. We dont play every single day... but we wish to. Thats the thing. We just wanna have reason to log in, because we love this game and we want to play it. But when you play new content after 4 months and are done not even in a week and dont want to partake in new content anymore... It feels empty.
Oh well, back to extreme raid progression.
They already do this in a form of weekly Blue mage challenges of old EX/Savage fights. I love this and do this every week (This week is EX whale again. Oh well...). Dunno why they dont do it also to normal jobs. Yes, we have the book, but thats not really rewarding and you can unsync it. And doing synced coils for RNG sticker would not be so great reward tbh.
