Adding to the Dun Scaith healing horror stories, I had a bad one yesterday morning. Queued on WHM and got a co-WHM. She had Sindri Lux and near BiS WHM gear. (I was using 260 relic, on the light step, and full 270 left/right though I'm specced toward Noct AST).

From the very first fight, the other WHM decided she was full time dps. And she decided that before people started dropping like flies. I was raising people to almost every mechanic. She raised maybe once, I raised probably five times. That was just the first fight.

Every fight was like that. She would drop out of cleric and heal maybe once per encounter, except for Proto Ultima where she died too, then started healing after that.

I've done a fair amount of healing in Dun Scaith and that was one of the worst runs ever, and we didn't have a bard or machinist and I don't carry max ethers. At Diabolos Hollow I was completely out of MP from raising. Somehow we managed not to wipe.

I actually did get five comms because I think people saw how hard I was trying (and the fact the other WHM was in cleric stance for almost the whole run and only used raise when I was dead). And I felt so bad for it because I just wanted to do better by everyone. It was 50 minutes of constant triage.

Also, we had the main tank. So it was my absolute priority to keep him up, and all I could to was try my best for the rest of the party. Thankfully we never wiped. Our MT bowed to me at the end.

I wonder if you and I were in the same raid...our Alliance A had an AST and a WHM and a mostly consistently dead group. And our Diabolos Hollow involved A/C tanks disappearing into the central door, leaving the B AST (me!) to tank the one cerebus.

And I did bitch to my co-healer (SCH) about how A's WHM was almost always dead (or useless)...

So. As I type this, I have ended up in a Seph EX PF that was advertised as a farm, but I am now being told that it is actually a LEARNING party. And there are people refusing to watch a video/read a guide for it, and instead want me to do a "quick rundown" of the fight. Because videos "ruin their experience."

Pretty sure there is no such thing as "quick rundown" for Seph EX. I'm sure I'll have a good story to tell when I get out of there. >.>

I normally don't care if people want to run things blind, but Seph EX is a fight I definitely recommend having prior knowledge of/kind of know what to expect. And don't advertise a learning as a FARM when it's clearly not.

Update: basically just wiped for an hour... first people were messing up Mad Hops, and eventually the last couple pulls they got it down. Then people weren't baiting for the single orb/his large frontal cleave. Add phase actually went pretty smooth, but then people weren't understanding how the debuffs work, or how towers work. Only made it as far as the first set of earthshakers.

I normally have a bunch of patience for people learning, but when we wipe 5 times to people not handling the debuffs/towers right, and I tell them each time what to do and they still don't do it, I start to lose my patience. I don't know how else to word: "Green up front with Seph, grab orange's tethers, orange move back to the edges, and avoid the big bag green bubbles." :/ Or "DPS to Seph's left (your right), and Heals/OT to Seph's right (your left) for Mad Hops." Or even simply "call your tower."

I probably ended up on one person's blacklist because I told them they had an unnecessarily hostile attitude, but who cares. That's fine if you wanna learn blind, but don't advertise a blind learning party as a farm. Videos and guides only "ruin your experience" if you let them ruin it. Wiping 10 times to the same thing ruins other people's experiences. Please consider that. :/

Got Saint Arboretums today for my 60 roulette with 2 new guys a BRD and a NIN both had 12-13k hp today, and a tank that was ilvl 262-263 I wanna say, i'm healing on Sch. The tank pulled everything as per dungeons but I cautioned em that our AoE is rather lacking, but I do like a challenge so didn't matter. I knew this run was gonna be weird as everything died verrrrrry slowly they're new and undergeared so doesn't really bother me, what did bug me was this tank was having threat issues with me DPSing, the healer. He also only pops Foresight and that's about it on trash nothing else, first boss goes down slowly but they're down so now we move onto the oh so loveable hive part.

The tank pulls all of it, which again is fine as we can just skip it but we have new players, i'm telling them to focus the 1 which is the hive walls, the tank isn't popping anything but then he pops HG and then proceeds to tell the new guys to attack the hive. I'm DPSing, healing, and I have 6 things on me, I get final stung dead,wipe. Tell him we would have made it if he kept threat, tank says "lol I didn't wanna tank em all to get stung" I said you can stun them you know but whatever not worth fighting about.

Rest of the dungeon is fine, (even though i'm tanking at least 3 things per trash pull even up to this point) last boss takes forever to kill but we got the Kedtraps and their AoEs went off, pre shielded, then AoE healed and we were fine but the real kicker that got me was....I checked the dmg and I swear i'm not making this up. I did 64% of the overall dmg as a Sch...the DPS? 12% and 12%, with the tank equaling them at 12%, I get your undergeared but I shouldn't of done THAT much.

Also the caster boots and coat dropped and I lost em both T_T my tears flooded my room at this point oh well maybe next time.

We got to the end of Cutter's Cry and 2 of us were looking at the loot whilst the others ran on, but when we got to the gate to fight the last boss, the people ahead started and we got locked out, so two of us sat there and the other two did well and beat the boss. After the map ended I received two commendations! :P I guess I must have done well up to the point of the last boss, plus I died once.

She was a bad co-healer for sure but typically, I've always been told if it's a WHM and Noct AST, the Noct AST is usually the main healer and the WHM is the offhealer. With noct stance, I think you have more healing potency.

Huh. Good to know. I always figured WHM would be the best MH, but if Noct can do it, well yay. ;) Also goes along with my thinking that it seemed like things got worse after I switched to Diurnal :/. Think I was handling things better as Noct. Welp, live and learn.

That's quite possible. Sounds exactly like my alliance and co-healer. Often dead and mostly useless.

In Dun Scaith, this MCH and I were basically jumping to out-DPS each other for the position of top DPS in the raid.

We went so overboard with it that at Diabolos, we both ripped aggro off of the tank with our openers and the two of us got plastered to the floor.

If I get tanks like that then I just make sure to time my shield and/or stoneskin casts just as the last trash mob is dying. That way they can't run off without it before the next pull. XD

They overwrote my Expanded Balance with an Expanded Spire.

This is aside from the fact that, if they had, we had 3 bards AND a machinist as our DPS.
And then when questioned said: "Heart of the Cards. It was meant to be."
I freaking hate people. Just gtfo right now. Smdh.

Doing Roulette lv50 as Bard. Enter in progress, was Brayflox's Longstop HM. But without people around. Leave and try again. After 15 minutes, enter in Wanderer's Palace HM. All right until finish first boss, but so tank leave, and seconds later healer (both from same server). 1 minute and enter other healer. We continue killing trash mobs without tank, but wipe in second boss. So I leave for enter as tank. Well, I am very noob as tank, but better than continue without tank. We finish and I won 2 commendation o.o

I have a story similar to yours Raven..

Okay, so I queued into Dun Scaith by myself for the first time (usually queue with friends :) ), and thought, why don't I try healing it this time? (Spoiler: not a good idea.)

Anyway, I get in and notice that my cohealer is an AST as well, and I thought, "this will be easy", but I was so, so, so wrong. Well, they said they'll take diurnal sect, and I give them the ok and activate nocturnal sect. So the shield drops and we all wait for a tank to pull the first boss, which takes a while, and before the tank pulls, the AST changes to nocturnal sect. :/ So...I'm slightly annoyed already, but I just keep it to myself.

After the fight, I asked if they wanted to take nocturnal, because I just didn't care at this point and wanted to get it done with no conflict, and they said "I don't know, I might change my mind, but whatever.", and I'm thinking "?????". Really?

So we clear the trash and what not, and at this point, I'm in diurnal while they're in nocturnal. Before we start the second boss, I ask them again, y'know, before they switch up on me like they did before, and they say they're good with what they have on, which is nocturnal. But guess what. A split second before the tank pulls, they hit diurnal! AHSGSJJAKDBWKL

I had the most annoyed, fake smile on my face, but I kept reassuring myself that it's just ONE RUN. I won't see this person again, it's all good. I just need my weekly drop.

Eventually, we reach Diabolos, and the whole raid + our alliance is dead, except our MT and me and my bestie, the indecisive AST <3. I saw that the limit break 3 was about to fill, so I start to move to a safe spot to be ready to cast, but guess what the AST does? They pop an orb next to me, and before I could even start casting, I got hit by another one and died right in the other AST's arms.. I felt bad for that poor tank when he tried casting Clemency on me, but it was too late... I was at a loss for words... I really was. Of course our alliance got blamed, but my party was really supportive of "my mistake". Eventually we get back in, and once the other AST dies, I leave them on the floor and heal the rest of the fight alone.

The cherry on top? The AST won a wind-up Scathach AND the last piece to their healer set. l:

Every dungeon I cannot keep hate unless I spam overpower until I'm out of TP. Most of the time there is a machinist who I absolutely can't pull a mob off and who pulls mobs. A WHM who face pulls mobs. I barely get to pull because DPS always goes and does it, and I'm not being slow or anything. I was just in Copperbell Mines and DPS where attacking the Ooze which can't even take damage (they were all lvl 60 so they should know better) so it's making it real hard on me lol. I pull the bomb with Tomahawk but the DPS every time grab it and run around with it.....and this stuff has happened to me every single dungeon. Does this ever get easier? I'm doing everything in my power to keep aggro and it's really frustrating. >.<

always try to have a good weapon for your current lvl, it helps with keeping aggro ^^

Yeah, tanking low level can be tough. Stick with it though, once you reach level 30 and get your full aggro combo and tank stance it gets easier. In the mean time, pick up a few levels of gladiator to unlock Flash for your WAR (you'll eventually want to take it up to level 22 for Provoke, but that's closer to endgame). It'll ease your TP problems a little. And don't worry too much about dps who pull mobs. If you can't take it off them, ignore them and focus on keeping the rest. In the end, there's only so much you can do if people keep being stupid. :)

That is always the way, isn't it. I used to joke around a lot when I was bird farming that the secret to getting birbs was to either be carried by the entire party, be complete and total jerk, or be dead the majority/end of the fight (funnily enough, I actually won my Sophia birb, and had died right before the fight ended. XD I wasn't being carried or being a jerk though :p).

I really dislike when my co-healer is another AST, for the exact thing that happened in your run (flippity-flippity-flop on sects...JUST CHOOSE ONE AND STAY IN IT), and for the simple fact that the majority overwrite card buffs (see my story about Ultros & Typhon). I have different preferences for sects depending on what I'm running, but general for Dun I prefer Nocturnal (especially since I end up solo-healing anyways, so I'll take that buffed healing potency). I like Diurnal for 4-man content just because it's easier to DPS with a Regen ticking on the tank for 18 seconds compared to a shield that may break pretty quickly during trash pulls (especially since I don't have a fairy to just heal for me here :p).

So many bad Dun stories this week. Perhaps I'll skip out on my weekly drop. XD

I just encountered one of "those mentors" and he dragged our Aery group down with him. I queued for it to finish off my last WT spot, just wanted a quick clear and done. We get anewbie BLM, but he didn't seem to be part of the problem. The DRK was pull happy and a tad squishy, but with competent DPS, it's not really a big deal. The other mentor (besides myself) is... special.... He's got everything at 60, except maybe a crafter or gatherer or two, so he really should know how to play his DRG. No such luck. Half the time, the guy was *almost but not quite* in autoattack range, and half the time he was spamming AoE on one or two mobs--suboptimally, he was playing suboptimally. So naturally it took nearly 30 minutes just to get to Niddy.

Tank pulls while the BLM is still in cutscene, so I kinda sorta got myself locked out. Whoops. >_> Anyway, round two. Mentderpgoon leaves me to try to balance keeping the tank alive with breaking the poor BlM out of Sable Price (it didn't end well). Scrape the BLM off the floor, derpgoon and BLM die at the start of the add phase. I get the BLM back up but Estinien dies. Only so much I can do here, guys...

I was ready to eat the penalty (had to leave the house anyway) but the poor tank beat me to it. To the newbie BLM: I'm sorry I left you with that mentor. To that mentor: turn in your crown. To the tank: you did fine.

What is it with ASTs who just... don't draw cards? At all? Or only draw cards and never bother Royal Roading them? I'm not talking about low-level ASTs in Brayflox normal, I'm talking about ASTs who are at level 60, synced down in the Aery or Sohm Al normal, who should know full well how to use their cards at level 60, yet stand around doing nothing but healing. Maybe DPSing if I'm lucky.

Cards are the single most interesting thing about AST. It's the one thing that sets the job apart from WHM and SCH, and yet these people just ignore it completely for reasons I don't get. When I'm playing AST, I always have one eye on the Draw cooldown time, just waiting to see what I can get next. When I can throw out an Expanded Balance or Arrow, it's a great sense of fun and accomplishment. Why would anyone just pass that up?

Maybe I should be glad I stopped aiming for weekly drops in Dun Scaith, looking at all the recent stories about Dun Scaith. Ever since they made the Scripture tome cap 900 instead of 450, I've just been gearing all my remaining DPS jobs in augmented shire gear (left side) while letting the weekly quest for Proto-Ultima accessories cover right side gearing. Which does mean I have to dive into Dun Scaith at least once every week, but I haven't had any really horrible encounters in there for awhile.

Decided to run some Mentor Roulettes to close out the night, on my WHM.
First up was Odin, with 4 sprouts (1 tank, 3 dps). The non-sprout dps, a SMN, literally stood still, and cast only his dots. I never saw a ruin, or any other off-cd skills from him. He also stood in the stone, and ended up dying 4 times during the run. However, he was the only one who died during the run, as the sprouts did an amazing job dodging and dpsing. We cleared the fight without wiping.

The other Mentor Roulette ended up in Tam-Tara Derp-croft. The tank was a completely new character, and only had lvl 15 gear equipped. Being BIS, I significantly out geared him, and ended up tanking 1-2 mobs each pull. I ended up tanking the final boss at the end as well, because I ended up with threat just a he went invincible, so it became impossible for the tank to take back the boss. I didn't mind.

After that I opened up my WT to check off the <50 dungeon sticker, and realized I hadn't picked up this week's book... and guess what? Odin was one of my trial stickers for this week too... -_-;

OKay thanks guys, I want to stick with it :) I'll lvl PLD with PotD now then

so yesterday me and a friend went to run EXR, me on whm and her on BLM, we get in there and the rando tank was a PLD and the rando dps was a MNK, we were thinking solid comp, this'll be easy!
by the time we got to the first boss, my friend and i have noticed that aside from using the stance changing abilities (i've not played monk so i can't tell you what they are) he was only using auto attacks, and when i called him out on it, no response, so we keep going and by the time we reached the final boss (took about 40 minutes) we were beyond annoyed at this monk, so i stop right before the final boss room so the tank wouldn't pull, and vote kicked him.

the only good thing that came out of that was that the bard who replaced him aa mere 5 seconds after he was kicked had newbie bonus, we got bonus lore, he got the fastest sohm al hard he'll ever have \o/
but honestly, why would you queue up for anything and use nothing but auto attacks? do people really have that much boredom and free time that they purposely try and waste other peoples' time by being an ass hat like that? /salt

Not so much DF but PF - Khloe wants me to clear T12 this week, so I figured joining a T11-13 bonus-party might be a good idea. I get my clear and a few second chance points to shuffle - perfect, right?

Except... it turns out that not only have most people not cleared this but also dont have the slightest idea about whats going on in T11. Expecting some sort of faceroll-party we jump into the fight, with three dps actually having less than 12k HP (aaah... memories of good old days...) and the 30k HP ninja constantly standing in the Baro-field - you guys remember, that nasty little thing Kalia casts under her that you have to avoid. The bard isnt singing Foes which would be their only contribtion to the fight, since they're level 55 and probably below the actual ilvl for the fight. Adds appear, I - as scholar - end up tanking one until it hits me for 30k, flies over to the other one and gets absorbed. We wipe - I quickly remind everyone about the stuff with the adds and ask the tanks to call one out. Neither of the tanks does - my bad, should have asked in french for the one guy and german for the other one!
Ninja still stands in the baro-field and we wipe again. Tanks finally discuss the adds and I remind them that they need to keep them moving. The DPS is spread out all over the place but remembers how to stack for the lightning stuff which constantly kills 4 of the dps (with their low HP-pool there is no way to heal through that... its just instant death). Ball absorbs egg because tank is to stupid to move it.
We get to the last phase and theters with the two tanks, the ninja and me alive. Tanks get thetered, but one of them chooses to stand behind Kalia (Cant blame him for perfering her butt over her faces, really) and the ninja (who still loves the baro-field!) runs away from me - probably because he likes moving and things of me like a little dog who will follow him no matter what.
We wipe because theters are a mess and since I'm really not in the mood to teach that fight to a bunch of people who dont seem to understand what I'm even saying, I call it a night for me - only to have the ninja blame me for wiping us on the last attemtept. Me. The ninja. Who happly collected the max-amount of vul-stacks by stepping into the freaking baro-field instead of, I dont know... not staying in it maybe?!

...not that that was what wiped us, mind you - that was a collective effort - but it really put the nail in the coffin for me.

Can't speak for everyone, but I know I sometimes tunnel heal, especially when I have tanks allergic to cooldowns and dps who stand in the fire and forget about the cards since I'm so busy keeping the derplords alive. I'm personally still getting used to AST, but usually I'm pretty good about it, but I def need to keep a better eye on it in general.

Maybe the people you're encountering just don't use it when soloing so forget about it? Idk

Ouch <winces>. Sounds like your run was even worse than mine. /comforts. At least my run was pretty quiet; sometimes that can feel like you're running with bots, but other times you're grateful for it. I've also been lucky enough not to get paired with other ASTs. Only had it happen once, in an MSQ roulette on my alt. And I went out of my way to make sure to not be one of Those ASTs; picked the opposite sect, and waited for his card buffs to drop before throwing mine out there.

Now for some good stories. Got my other two weeklies out of the way last night, and got to experience actual co-healers. :) Void Ark especially was a smooth, very relaxing run. Now knowing that with WHM/Noct AST, Noct is MH, I had no confusion about which sect I should be in. VA being pretty easy now, my co-healer didn't actually need to do much. Just help out a bit during Cuchulain (sp?), and otherwise dps.

Weeping City on the other hand... well, not exactly smooth. We had someone in one of the other alliances (I was in C) that was pull happy. And nope, it wasn't a tank. It was B's AST :(. Just... why?! It made things very chaotic for the first half of the raid. What made this run a good one though, was my amazing WHM co-healer. Whenever I needed help with the healing, she was on it, throwing out her aoe heals and helping me scoop people off the floor. The couple of times I died, she raised me right away, and I did the same for her. Except when Megadeth got us both :/ Think we were both too busy healing and didn't notice the cast in time to get to a poison puddle. After that though, Ozma and Calo were both very smooth. Normally in these things, I comm the tank, but our tank was a bit of a derp and this WHM absolutely deserved it.

Had a Belsar's wall run where it took all my patience to not leave. Went in as my main ast and the 1st few pulls felt little slow we had bonus so i wasn't so worried 1st 2 bosses went ok new person got hit constantly by 2nd boss's stop moving mechanic explained mid fight since takes age to type on ps4. But everything changed once got to last boss. IT was terribad, had to explain 2 times for the 1st bard and 5 more for 2nd bard (new person was tank not dps) to have both dps attack the restraint coller to free me or i'll die took 7 deaths but on the 8th attempt loe and behold thanks to an lb1 from the bard twice to free me we finished it. I can help with not knowing but i cannot help with le stupido (all good english speakers as talked throughout the run so not a language barrier thing).

I was like: *looks at Balance buff fall off, replaced by Spire* *single tear*. If I'd been one of the DPS in there (or even the tank), I would have been pissed about someone taking away my Balance and replacing it with a Spire! Probably even more angry than I'd been as the AST that had USED the Balance!!


I decided to run Dun Scaith not too long ago. I didn't have much else that I wanted to do, but I did still need to get a drop so I queued in on my AST (already sitting in Noct). Co-healer was a WHM.

Everything was pretty okay up until Scathach. Some of the melee were getting hit during the large AOEs in Ferdiad, and then several people had gotten blown off during Deathgaze Hollow, but nothing too major that wasn't recoverable from.

So, Scathach. Our tank is MT because the tank that had been MT up until Proto Ultima started lagging out, and asked our tank if he could take over. No big. Tossing shields on him, Essential Dignity when I need to, popping in and out of Cleric Stance as needed. Just doing my thing.

She's down to 5%. Everyone had used their LBs, and the add spawns. Well, neither of the other tanks grabbed him, he tethered to Scathach, and then sad things. The majority of the raid was dead. At one point it was me, the MT (who I was shielding and healing between trying to raise my co-healer and at least the bard because I was running out of MP and Luminiferious Aether was on cooldown), and maybe two or three DPS. We get her down to 1%, but I'm completely dry and my co-healer died to the shadows mechanic because they moved and got the hand thingies/DoT on them. I can't raise them yet (I was trying to wait for Swiftcast, but at the same time my MP was just getting lower and lower), but I keep trying to shield the tank, praying as hard as I ever had for a Ewer (didn't draw one, of course...as the stars would have it!!!). Anyways, the hands appear, and I'm tethered to one. So I'm praying the tank doesn't die, and try to kill it. Of course, there's not enough people to down them both, and mine explodes, killing what few others had been raised in the process. The add spawns a third time, and it's all over then. I can't keep the tank up, so he goes down, followed by me, and then the last few DPS died to the add/Scathach.

1%!!!! We were so close!!!! I was like "I'm so sorry guys, we almost had it! T^T" But this is why we always want to pay attention, grab the add, and kill it, even if she only has 5% health left. Don't ignore the add!!! Don't try to burn her! It never works!! D: I am sad though. I really wish we'd been able to beat her!

Diabolos went well, and was uneventful for the most part.

But I actually enjoyed the run because the people in our alliances were pretty cool. They were cheering for those of us remaining on Scathach, and one of them was like "Yeah dude, give that kpop star your comm" while we were barely hanging on. I always think it's funny when people make a connection to Kpop and my character, even though the fact she has the same name as a Kpop singer is entirely coincidental. But the people we were grouped with just made me smile. Wish all my Dun Scaith alliances were that cool.

I walked away with 4 comms. I gave mine to the tank, and I sincerely hope that he received the other 3. He deserved them.

I'm not talking about instances where these ASTs have to heal constantly. I'm talking about runs where nobody was in danger of dying, people were handling mechanics well, and the tank only needed a heal every 10 seconds or so. Which is plenty of time to throw out some DPS, but no, these ASTs just... stand there, not even drawing cards.

I was a Dragoon, my friend a MCH, the tank was a German Paladin and our healer was French. Both couldn't speak English at all. Tank was a first timer.

The tank didn't use Shield Lob to pull and just ran straight into the enemies.
He didn't switch targets and used his combo on a single enemy at a time.
You might be thinking "he surely used flash twice after pulling", but no, he would use it in between combos. Maybe one time per pull.
I know that Paladins don't have Shield Oath yet at this level, but I've run this dungeon before as one and know that - although it is kinda stressful - it's entirely possible to keep aggro here.

I tried to give him a few pieces of advice in German. No reaction. My MCH friend said "brb" before the first boss, but the tank would just run into the arena, get locked in and wipe three times before my friend returned.
After we killed the second boss, I used waymarks to show him the shortest route to the third boss. Luckily, he actually followed the waymarks and didn't pull additional trash.
I had to tank the third boss but the tank still managed to die. I don't even know what happened there. On our way to the final boss, I tell him in German "please pull the boss out of the green puddles".
Even though I said that, I didn't want to take any chances so I tanked the boss myself. The tank did his best to get aggro back from me but at this point I stopped caring.

It's one thing to be new (which I don't mind), but if you are not reading the chat even though your performance is clearly lacking (as in trash running all over the place), you don't deserve my trust.

Gladiator first timer with arcanist first timer and a random BRD, me as WHM.
I didn't expect the gladiator to know much and I was right. At the very least the gladiator would hesitantly initiate fights but used fast blade, fast blade, riot blade. No use of flash.
I tried to give advice on the combo and flash, but no response. Checked language and it was English. Everyone except the tank itself tanked that run. Hope that difficulty wall comes sooner rather than later.

I might be a mentor but that doesn't mean I can play the game for you.

While bad tanks being bad is worse enough this sparked in a memory in me that I wish would have stayed burried - while you two obviously made it through the dungeons somehow without the tank tanking, I remember a run in Sastasha NM - with me as tank, so that wasnt the issue. However... the healer was - a conjurer who didnt use cure once. Or any other healing spell for that matter. Both me and the dps begged him in partychat, /say, /shout - using autotranslate, despite him having english ticked.... nothing... not a single heal. Made me and the archer cross class cure, the dragoon a second tank (because even in Sastasha you cant tank mutliple mobs without healing), the run a total nightmare and the archer use the LB (back in the days when it was a healing one) on the last boss because we would have wiped otherwise...

So bad tanks are bad - bad healers are worse...

Oh, he did stuff - just not healing... I was torn between bot and russian 14 year old who actually doesnt understand english and has no idea what they're doing... in retrospective I dont know why we didnt kick him... there is a chance that the votekick wasnt in the game yet at that point - which just proves why we need it

Well, I just had the most pleasant ex roulette.
I got past the queue because a healer apparently didn't like Sohm Al. All 3 others were nice and friendly, and even with that chatting, we cleared it in 15 minutes.

I love playing as a healer (Astrologian) in this at times just to have some variety to me constantly being a summoner 24/7 and it also lets me do EX and 60 with my boyfriend and his friend. But Jeez Louise there are some instances in this game were stressful situations don't really seem adequate enough to express how some Tanks just neglect any form of courtesy and ask how big of a pull do you like.

Working on my 2nd anima relic, was at the stage of the 260-270 were I need the 3 items from Amdapor, Gubal and Sohm Al.

Now I'm generally fine with large pulls, because most dungeons they aren't really that bothersome to handle if its kept within reasonable levels.

But there's one part of Gubal Hard I always dread and I just gave up asking Tanks just to plain not do it due to vitriol behaviour being thrown at me as they'll still do it anyway. The dps that wasn't my boyfriend was new/very fresh gear and my bf is still gearing up his ninja so damage wasn't insanely high to clear groups in a timely manner, which also meant larger pulls would have been a bit slower to.

The bit after the second boss, now my main experience with this is they'll grab the adds at the bottom of the stairs and the one's at the top just before the statue comes alive, leaving them til after the first two groups are dead. Thats my normal Gubal hard experience and I am perfectly fine with that level of a pull as its very manageable.

However the stress inducing pull is when the tank (the one in this run of the dungeon) decides to run further and activate the statues as well.

Now end result he didn't die, came extremely close to but essential dignity amright? <3

I swear the tanks just seem to ignore that one of the mobs likes to stack up a vulnerability debuff, and this tank in particular didn't bother with this tanking cooldowns at all for this bit or use the "I will survive, heeeeyy aaaay." move. So spamming my benefic's like a madman and hoping for procs, never seen hp go up and down like a yo yo so much.

His vulnerability debuff was at 3 stacks so you can imagine what it would be like.

I mean there was no deaths in the dungeon at all, so mission accomplished as a healer. I do love doing it but that kind of stress really has a way of putting me off / knocking my confidence despite the mission success, because if I was half a second too late with the healing spam, the tank would have died. I would have disintegrated and then I would have had an angry tank, because its always gonna be my fault for being the 'bad' healer and not the tank having no consideration.

Maybe I'm over thinking this......

Just want to apologize to my party I had in Wanderer's Palace HM.

There was quite a bit of derping going on in that run. XD But it was nice, because everyone was super chill.
Just want to apologize for being a little distracted. Friend is having PC issues and asking me advice mid-run, and then some random guy was just walking around in my backyard so I was like wtf.

I'm honestly shocked that you don't have much experience with the Big Daddy Gubal HM pull. I've rarely been in runs where the tanks don't pull all the way to that wall. :O

Here's what I usually do when I'm healing on AST in Gubal and the tank does the Big Daddy Pull. Activate Lightspeed, I toss all of my HoTs on them while they're under the healing potency increase effect of Synastry. If I'm lucky enough to draw a Bole before the pull, I hold it and use it after my regens, then I Time Dilation/Celestial Opposition to extend the regen/Bole timers, and provide a stun for the trash pack. I emergency Essential Dignity if I have to, like if the tank drops too low while I'm in the middle of casting all my regens on him. I call these my "Super Special Regens" and I reserve them for large pulls like that where tank health is bouncing up and down like a basketball.

Maybe you can try that next time you encounter the pull. To help take a little stress off of you. :D It should be enough to keep the tank going without having to cast another HoT for 30 seconds, so you can get in some nice Gravity spams. :D

Also worth noting that I rarely have to activate Luminiferous Aether to reduce my healer aggro. I don't think I've ever pulled hate from a tank with my Super Special Regens, so if they can at least hold aggro decently, you don't have to worry about getting your face smashed in because of healer aggro.

Honestly I've only been back to the game since middle of March (had been on a 6month break), before I stopped playing I did have white mage at 60 and of course with summoner being my main sch was 60 to but I was in that dilemma of which do I prefer?
So I have only recently got AST to 60 so I am still learning the ropes with it, and well I can count on both hands the amount of times I've healed Gubal HM so far.

I am more used to being in Nocturnal Sect over Diurnal but having read all that (though I do tend to switch it up depending on the boss), I can definitely see the appeal of the regens there. Defo gonna try and save a Bole and Dilation for the key moments, as more often than not I'll use bole to get a stronger balance.

And I'll probably get a smack on the nose for this but I do often forget that Lightspeed exists as I've generally not had many situations were I have needed it.
